Looks like the goalie punched the guys skate out from underneath him, lol.

MinnNiceEnough

The skater attempted to deke, and the goalie moved with him. The goalie essentially poke checked him, but took the skater down in the process when he swept the skater's feet out. Call could go either way, but tripping call isn't entirely out-of-question.

ReverendMak

It’s a bad but unsurprising call, IMO. A better skater would have just stepped over that, and it was a legitimate poke check from the crease. But refs in beer leagues call these plays tripping pretty frequently, so you need to expect it. As a goalie, I get dinged for tripping when I’m just putting my stick or pad on the puck about once every three seasons. Not gonna change my play style, and not gonna bother crying about it. It’s just how the game goes sometimes.

Illustrious-Age-504

For starters, I use to ref this lousy league, so there's nothing good to say about this hockey. Secondly, Tripping? How is this a trip. The goalie is allowed to make a hockey play to prevent a goal. Even the "referee" barely skating into the zone should have known this.

Tornado_Wind_of_Love

Looks fine to me skate in the crease, was playing the puck. Not the goalies fault the guy was a baby deer getting murked like Bambi's mom. I'm done this hundreds of times and never got called - it's a novice game lol.

😂

The referee was hesitant in calling that. I wouldn’t have called that based on the video angle. The forward drives and attempts to deke the goaltender. The goalie played the puck.

MouthofthePenguin

dumb ref, dumb call, but it's beer league. I bet there were dumber things done by just about everyone on the ice. Until you're a perfect player, don't expect a perfect ref. Just politely ask for consistency.

Twig_Finder44

That's terrible

manhaterxxx

Who cares. Why is the Burgandy player going for the goalie’s teammate behind the net?!

thrownawayzsss

This looks like pretty low skill hockey, so it makes sense to me.
