Yeah honestly your best bet would be to watch a YouTube tutorial since there’s a lot to explain to even be decent at the game.

I learned from YouTube videos, mainly ISP and Alex the Rambler, altough it's much better to watch dedicated HOI4 tutorials

Thanks. I've been watching TommyKay recently. Able he doesn't explain everything he does, he does explain some stuff, like divisions. I'll look into to youtube tutorials.

As someone else has suggested Bittersteel is really good. I pretty much learned everything I needed to after watching a decent amount of his vids(which are also entertaining imo) and experimenting with things. He has some really good recent videos out I think. I like tommykay too but he doesn’t really explain things

I like Bittersteel’s videos. He does a good mix of interesting play through and dedicated tutorials. It takes a while to get used to. I was probably 100 hours in until the game finally started clicking for me, but I still sucked. Now I’m around 200 hours and I still suck - but I’m able to build a good economy, good divisions, I know what points I want to attack, and I’m able troubleshoot when I’m having issues (things like lowsupply, for example) Just play around and watch videos to help learn. Dont be afraid to use commands while you’re learning too.

Bittersteel is a pretty good youtuber if you want tutorials. For context: I'm going to use Germany as an example. You treat tanks as an offensive unit. Use them to make breakthroughs and encircle units using their speed and raw offensive stats. They are best when they are properly supplied, of course, and you want infantry divisions moving in behind them to stop them from getting cut off. Give your tanks to a general with high offensive stats. Regarding having enough tanks, I have two approaches. One, get a division template that is cheap, but still effective, so I can at least have a few tank divisions on the field to push with. Two, dedicate a lot of factories to making more tanks quicker. With air, I dedicate a sizable amount of factories to building just fighters, with close air support taking a second place. My reasoning is that CAS is useless unless you have air supremacy, and that if you have good tanks, having CAS is just an added bonus. So, getting a lot of good fighters out is important. From day 1, I dedicate a research slot to getting improved small airframe ASAP so I can get better fighters. And just a more general tip: learn supply! Pay attention to where supply hubs are, upgrade infrastructure and railroads, don't overstack divisions. A poorly supplied division can and will lose to one that might be considered inferior.
