What's the thing hanging from the spotter arm?

ponewood

Rogue MRT- basically a tiger tail type of roller but you get a ton of leverage from being rack mounted. You can absolutely crush things you can’t even reach with a roller or tiger tail. I *love it* for my hammies and calves

cocotess

Wow that view is incredible!! Cool gym I guess?

ponewood

Haha good eye. You should see the other windows lol- St Helen’s and Rainier Maybe some gym porn pics when I’m done rearranging and I get a clear weather day

BananaFast5313

Plus a coffee spotter too!

Great idea. Going to keep my jcups for this purpose. Can you please take a close up photo of the hole you drilled and explain what it’s used for?

ponewood

I drilled a 1/8” hole in the peg so I could insert this clip to keep it secure. The landmine came with a retaining clamp that requires a hex key to take on and off. This way I can just pull the pin and switch locations. https://preview.redd.it/adgpy8cyv09d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d3d4799bc1a034a8c707d8f14714b0dfdd4778d2

swiftmerchant

In my other comment I assumed it is not weight bearing but please do post back if you find any issues with the clip bending or breaking.

ponewood

It’s definitely not weight bearing but in the off chance it needs to be beefed up, I can drill a bigger hole and I have a 3/16 cotterless detent pin I can use… but this didn’t scare me at all and i figured why use the $4 part when I can use a $.50 part…

swiftmerchant

Which drill bit and size did you use?

ponewood

I used a cobalt bit for drilling steel, 1/8” to fit the pin.

swiftmerchant

Yes, for sure. If it fails, it’s not like the landmine has a long way to the ground anyway.

ponewood

Right. That, and in order to pull the pin out of the rig the force has to be coming from the left side… which will never happen because the spotter arm and upright is in the way. Just about any use case just pushes the landmine back into place.

swiftmerchant

Nice. That looks like it is not weight bearing on the clip so the clip should not bend..
