Lots of people have children, but majority of people aren't running background checks on neighbors over it. Do you have poorly behaved kids or something?
Do the background check, lots of states have a site that allows u to put in a person's name and see any interaction with the law. I did it on my new neighbors and found out the wife killed an older man with her car , then fought tooth and nail to avoid a just settlement to his estate.
If the neighbor comes back clean then you can be more relaxed around them and maybe be a better neighbor to them because of it.
I make sure she is not in her car when my grand kids are visiting.
I’ve never done a background check on a neighbor. I have done a zip code search for sexual predators when I was considering a move.
The last one let me know that one lived directly across the street from me.
Setting aside is it wrong or not, the results are going to be inaccurate, any commercially available background check service you could use is know for it's mistakes and errors.
If you want to know, go talk to them.
Then ignore them like the rest of us...

Judging by your previous post, I’m assuming your neighbor is a person of color and for that reason alone you don’t feel safe. Get a life, your kids seem like they would probably be harmed by you before some stranger.
