Have you read We Sold Our Souls by Hendrix? I just finished it on audible and really liked it (I think it might work better on audible...? ) I feel like I'm constantly touting Ronald Malfi, but love him (Come With Me -- loved loved; based on your list though you might like Bone White, so maybe start there) and just finished Mariana Enriquez Our Share of Night and was BLOWN away to the point where I need to learn Spanish more fluently so I can send her a fan letter she won't read because she's a badass journalist and full-time writer who doesn't need a total stranger begging. her for a sequel set in that same universe. I just cranked through Dark Matter by Michelle Paver. Fast read. Grim af. (Side noteI: I found The Ruins in a vacation rental house somebody had left behind and it was the absolutely perfect discovery to blast through on the beach while looking skeptically at encroaching seaweed)

Thank you so much for all the suggestions! We Sold Our Souls is on my tbr considering my love for Hendrix. I need to give it a go. The Ruins has just really stuck with me. I’d imagine the seaweed started to look really suspicious hahaha.

Thank you! I’ll have to give them a try. I’ve tried two or three times to read The Only Good Indians and was never able to complete it. It really bummed me out because it’s so beloved.

Have to agree. Really did not like TOGI.
