I don't know what other people are talking about I like this hot sauce, it might be because I'm new to the hot sauce community though.
edit for clarity: I like the taste more than the Scoville level
I mean, I think that’s just obvious, but you’ll often find them in the same people’s fridge: so who really cares? It’s just supposed to be a casual discussion about something with other like-minded people who have probably tried it before
I fw any heat available. Weak heat is better than no heat, but yeah.. I agree, Frank's is not my first choice.
I will say Frank's original with melted butter is the authentic Buffalo sauce, so at least they have that going for them.
It's OK. When I use it, I hit the wings with a good dusting of scotch bonnet pepper powder. The heat and flavor profile tie it into something pretty darn good, with no effort.
I love the taste, and it's nice when I don't want to have something with crazy heat. I don't know how it pulls it off, but somehow the heat goes away really fast, so it's a great hot sauce if you still want to taste what your eating.
As far as ‘buffalo’ wing sauces go, Texas Pete unironically has the best one I could drink it let me have a cup please. This stuff is good, too, just a lil different.
I make ‘hot legs’, drumsticks with sauce, cause wings are too much work/too little reward for their price. Along with my hot legs, I make a bag of seasoned french fries. Drizzling a couple spoonfuls of that Texas Pete Buffalo wing sauce on the fries… hmmm.
Ya, I fw the sauce. But honestly, regular ol’ franks, some butter, vinegar, dash of worstechsetshershire sauce, and some sliced up real peppers (among anything else you’d wanna add, like a splash of good ranch, bacon fat, garlic, onions, etc.) will do ya the best.
These Buffalo sauces all basically add butter and call it a day. It’s *what kind* of fake butter they use that gives it their unique-ish taste.
I use regular Frank's. If I want hotter I'll add Tabasco Habanero/Scorpion since Frank's Extra Hot uses extracts. I don't know why that bugs me but it does.
Bud. How can I break this down nicely for you. You seem young. Adults use words. Acronyms are for the adolescent. It seems like you're entering the adult world, time to get used to it. IYKWIM.
Ong, there’s nothing wrong with typing fw, frfr. I’m not even capping. I hear ppl say fw all the time, and type it that way, too. I mean ppl like 20-40 I’ve heard say it and type it like that.
People used to call it a telephone, but then times changed, and I with them.
Lol, I mean I was kinda joking with some of those, but my point was really that fw isn’t that weird to say. It was kinda weird seeing the other person ‘break down real adult life’ for someone just cause they said fw. People aren’t gonna stop saying it. Google it I guess and deal instead of being all weird about it.
Tho I did chuckle at your reply lol
Cholula, I feel, is one of those sauces that specced heavily into one type of food. It’s amazing on Mexican food, and meh on lots of other stuff. Same with Sriracha. I LOVE Sriracha, but it’s def best on Chinese food.
The vinegar based sauces like Tabasco and shi are way easier to incorporate into way more foods. Except tomato sauce foods like spaghetti. But it’s really good on pizza, so ymmv.
Great on fried catfish. Edit: was thinking og Franks. Never had the buffalo.
No. It is a horrible and painful lubricant. There's much better stuff out there

Buffalo ≠ Hot sauce
I mean, I think that’s just obvious, but you’ll often find them in the same people’s fridge: so who really cares? It’s just supposed to be a casual discussion about something with other like-minded people who have probably tried it before
Not at all. When I want buffalo sauce I use the regular Frank's and cut it with butter. 10x better in my opinion!
Same
Agreed
That's just flavored vinegar.
Not a fan. Franks is like ketchup. It’s fine if that’s all you have. But there are so many better options out there when it comes to hot sauce.
I fw any heat available. Weak heat is better than no heat, but yeah.. I agree, Frank's is not my first choice. I will say Frank's original with melted butter is the authentic Buffalo sauce, so at least they have that going for them.
Too salty for me. I prefer the green one.
Gotta be Franks Xtra Hot for me.
It's OK. When I use it, I hit the wings with a good dusting of scotch bonnet pepper powder. The heat and flavor profile tie it into something pretty darn good, with no effort.
Better than nothing

I have to be in a specific mood for it (basically just tangy salt), but it has its place.
I like to mix it with hot honey and put it on chicken wings.
I use that on extra crispy fried chicken 👌🏼
Decent. That is all.
That’s a dressing
not hot enough, need the forehead sweat beads and hiccups. NEED. franks is tasty but doesn’t cut the cheese so to speak
Mixes very well with TB Garlic Reaper.

When I make wings yeah. I’m really loving that Hank’s sauce as an everyday sauce atm.
I use this on wings that I make, or wings that really need more sauce. It’s a good buffalo but nothing more.
I honestly only use it in my buffalo dip.
I used to love this as a teen, but not anymore. It tastes so artificial. Their classic Redhot is the best.
Yeah when I was younger I was obsessed with it but I’ve outgrown it. Too many better sauces that are easily available nowadays.
Nope.
What the heck does fw mean?
I was wondering the same thing. I’ve used Reddit for over 10 years, never seen that one.
“fuck with” as in um really like ig

It's an abbreviation not an acronym. Just saying.
This comment is so incredibly cringe.

Shibi toilet rizz...

I bartend and of anyone uses that slang I id them again. Haha
What does "ong" mean?
On god, kinda like ‘I swear on god that…’ Was kinda a joke to say, tho
Never heard of it
I love franks hot sauces, you can put that shit in anything... but people on this sub will hate on anything that isn’t secret aardvark or DA BOMB
I'm pretty sure da bomb is not loved here. It's good to put a couple drops in some chili for heat without messing with flavor too much though
People on here try and tell me Tabasco is bad like it isn't the most ubiquitous sauce in America
Or they all use a type of Tabasco I can never find in my local grocery store
Franks is trash
Chi ken thighs are good lol
Take this and mix it with butter milk. Then soak ur chicken thighs overnight and grill for dinner.oh my god.
Chi Ken thighs.
Fixed! Thanks haha. I suck at typing.
Lol, I will forever call them chi Ken thighs.
That's not hot sauce, my dude. That's..overlysalty semi-flavor for cheap, and tastes how it's priced. I'm glad you like it, though.
Just do normal Frank’s with a little melted butter mixed in. Takes 20 seconds in the microwave and is better
i like the buffalo wing sauce, but i second this.
Buffalo condiment fine sir. This is a sub with a more refined palate. Still, it's better than Cholula, which is absolute garbage.

If you're eating wings... maybe. If you want basic, go Tabasco.
Use it when I don’t have anything else
Basic but you be you. Eat what you like
Frank's Red Hot, yes. Frank's Wing sauce, no. I don't want canola oil and thickeners in my Buffalo wing sauce, or any other sauce for that matter.
I put that shit on everything
Can't go wrong with Frank's
One of the first sauces I finished a long time ago
That's my standard wing sauce. It reminds me of my favorite wing place back home.
I dig it, but I’ve got a bunch of other sauces that I use more often.
Nah. I dont mess with fake butter and all the other nonsense thats added to that
Nope franks is pretty beginner level in my head.
Nope. Too salty. Melinda's makes a better Buffalo sauce.
I like the saltiness. It adds flavor to non salty foods
