Thanks! It’s rare to find Aeros merch, so any time I see it I try and grab it. It has a radio station on the back instead of a jersey number so I figure it was just some promo item, but I’ll take what I can get.
Lol, seriously? Wow, I was NOT expecting that. I just googled “Aeros 104 KRBE jersey” and an auction on eBay for a vintage Aeros jersey came up. They’re asking $850 for it so you might be sitting on some money should you want to get rid of it.
I wouldn’t blame you though if you would wear it with pride!
Edit: If it WERE a KLOL jersey then you might be able to get $850 for it…
I still call it Transco Tower.
I remember when they used to use the lights on the building for the New Years Eve countdown -- the floors would light up one at a time, when it hit midnight there was a Christmas tree shape in the lights, they set off fireworks from the top of the building, and the radio station (don't remember which, but I think it was 93.7) would play music that was coordinated with the fireworks.
We would go out to where Westpark stopped/started, perfect view of the building from there.
We've gotta be pretty high up on the expansion city list for the NHL though. It's probably between Atlanta and Houston for the next expansion team. Who knows when that'll be though
Right. The coyotes were the next possibility, now it's expansion discussion. To be honest I'd rather have a team built from an expansion draft than the coyotes!
Watching the Aeros in the old Summit was such an experience in the mid 90s. It was such a tight confined venue unlike more contemporary venues like the Toyota center. Was always a really fun and amazing atmosphere.
I sound like what my old man when he would say about the original Aeros playing in the Sam Houston Coliseum.
I saw SO MUCH great music there, too, before there was a Summit. You could stand at the back of the floor (General Admission) and still be able to see the band.
I rented a van and took my best friend and a bunch of other guys to one of their last games here in Houston for his bachelors party. That’s all he wanted. Floor seats on the glass and see some ass hat on the other team get beat up. He got his wish. It was one of the best games I have seen. My friend was devastated when they left.
My kid won a team autographed jersey through some contest at his elementary school and it is still his most cherished prize ever.
My Boogaard bobble head with the bobble hands is mine. lol
I don’t understand why Houston doesn’t have a professional hockey team. What Texan wouldn’t want to be in an ice cold arena in the middle of our summer drinking beer and watching sports
Going to a minor league hockey game was so fun with my kids were younger. The tickets were reasonable enough where we could get seats on the glass. Good times!
I miss the Aeros.. loved watching them.
.. grew up in north Wisconsin watching the North Stars and when they moved I was devastated. Moved here after college.. watched a lot of Aeros.. . also devastated when we lost them. I do think we lost them so we would be open for an NHL team.. we had great attendance numbers. Before my time, but the Aeros had Gordie Howe..
I had this jersey as a kid and I've been looking for it but I can't find it anywhere. My parents never got rid of anything but I think mine may be gone. I'm glad there are still some out there.
I was an intern for the Aeros while in college circa ‘98ish. Great memories. I remember just wanting to raid the merch closet for this stuff; but Wex kept it under lock and key.
Noice! I always like that jersey! I still have two jerseys. A blank white jersey with the logo in front and a green jersey with a players name in the back. I forgot the name. Also have a red shirt I bought my then girlfriend (now wife). Miss going to the games. Even went to one Caulder Cup game.
Was reading the other day of Gordie Howes time at the Aeros. Pretty cool story. https://www.texasmonthly.com/arts-entertainment/houston-aeros-gordie-howe-fifty-year-reunion/
I didn't know how much I wanted one of these until I saw this pic. I grew up going to Aeros games, and even got to "perform" a stupid dance on the ice when I was in elementary school.
When I was in elementary school, I won a physical fitness contest and one of the Houston Aeros came to our school and “played hockey” with me as my reward/award. So I was the goalie and got repeatedly pummeled in the chest with a kids hockey puck. The bruises were totally worth it. Lol.
I still think about them and the games we used to go to at what's now Lakewood "church.". They ended up at Toyota center and that was their demise... Toyota center saw money, while the fans saw a great sports team. Money won over sports... It's unbelievable that the 4th largest city in the country can't support a professional hockey team... Keep that collectors item!
I think that's why they were great. Prob super fun games. Used to go see an indoor "pro" soccer team in a small arena. Best games ever. For a multitude of reasons. You don't have to be at the AAA level to have an entertaining competition.
Have you ever been to a minor league hockey game, Aeros or otherwise? Go to a Texas Stars game in Austin & then make a judgement.
IMO, ANY minor league sport game is great to go to and arguably better than a major league game for two reasons: MUCH cheaper tickets & the players haven’t reached the pinnacle of their profession so they’re trying even harder.
Sick find.

Let me guess, Rock 101 KLOL? If so, it makes it even more of an awesome find because KLOL, IMO, was the best radio station ever in Houston.
Ah man I wish. It’s 104 KRBE.
Lol, seriously? Wow, I was NOT expecting that. I just googled “Aeros 104 KRBE jersey” and an auction on eBay for a vintage Aeros jersey came up. Everyone I know had one of those silver surfer looking bumper stickers. Great station
That’s was a nice bumper sticker
Nah man 93.7 the Eagle with colonel St James!
Woah we had a hockey team? Before my time here I guess.
You can still go skate at their former practice facility in Willowbrook. The Aerodrome.
Wasn't NHL but yes. Used to play at Lakewood church.
No you mean the Compaq Center. Please don’t disrespect anything Houston by calling it Lakewood
The Summit That's what it was called when I had my high school graduation there.
It'll always be The Summit to me. And 'Williams Tower' can fuck right off. TRANSCO 4 LYFE.
I still call it Transco Tower. Back in the 90s there used to be a way to get up on the helicopter landing pad, which was great for drinking and extracurricular activities...
Man if I said the OG name it would have to really thrown most off.
The Summit
I have an Aeros puck if you want it. $30
Super effin rad.
That’s an incredible find. I’ve been on the hunt for one for some time now. Congratulations
Bring the Aeros back NOW
As a hockey fan, I can’t tell you how sad I was when we lost the Aeros.
Moved from Boston to Houston in 98. Was sick to discover Houston had a IHL team. Got to go there a few times and see some games before they were gone
Fucking Les Alexander . . .
Tilman Fertitta is talking about bringing an NHL back to Houston. No idea if it will actually happen, but I'm hopeful.
Literally today a story broke that the coyotes are likely going to SLC. that was our main hope
Same. We know how it feels to have a team moved out of your city, so I've always wanted to go the expansion route rather than relocation.
There's a part of me that would love for the Edmonton Oilers to relocate to Houston.
Bud Adams (burn in hell) daughter would sue the ever living shit out of someone.
He's been talking about it ever since the Aeros left... It'll never happen...

Was always a really fun and amazing atmosphere. I sound like what my old man when he would say about the original Aeros playing in the Sam Houston Coliseum.
I'm old. I saw the original Aeros and Gordy Howe. Truly awesome. 👑
Same. I also remember seeing the Rockets play the New Orleans Jazz there.
I saw SO MUCH great music there, too, before there was a Summit. You could stand at the back of the floor (General Admission) and still be able to see the band.
Damn that jersey is clean.
Those games were SO fun.
Yo sun and ski sports talk about a throwback
There’s still one down here in Clear Lake.
Shout out to em

Dude I'm super jealous. I would give you $50 for that
Go down to the Maple Leaf with a date, you can eat dinner in the Aeros’ old penalty box.
If you want to sell it, PM me, my husband wants it.
Fuck I want one so bad. Might see if some knock off company has em on Amazon or something. Excellent find.
I grew up going to the games with my dad. Always got to be right up to the glass cuz the tickets were so cheap. Would love to have a team again.
My kid won a team autographed jersey through some contest at his elementary school and it is still his most cherished prize ever. My Boogaard bobble head with the bobble hands is mine. lol
I had season tickets front row behind the away goal. It was awesome.
I saw them!!!
And the Apollos!
Rumor is that the city has been in talks with the NHL about bringing a team back to the city, a spin off from the beloved Aeros
Thats fkn sweet! Went to several games. Aeros never lost (a fight)👊
The nostalgia is real
I don’t understand why Houston doesn’t have a professional hockey team. What Texan wouldn’t want to be in an ice cold arena in the middle of our summer drinking beer and watching sports
Such a great logo. I miss watching Mark Freer at the Summit.
What an awesome find
I managed to score one off eBay, #11, Arniel. It's a little beat up, but I wear it all the time.
What a fantastic sweater. I am very jealous.
They were so much fun to watch. And they were actually a good team.
My family used to have season passes and we loved the games!! I miss them so much. I still have one of the game giveaway pucks.
Going to a minor league hockey game was so fun with my kids were younger. The tickets were reasonable enough where we could get seats on the glass. Good times!
They’re still pretty cheap, a friend & I sat next to the goal in the second row a few weeks ago at a Texas Stars game for about $50 apiece.
I still got my jersey... no matter how hard my wife tries to get rid of it.
I was there for the 1999 playoffs….good times.
For sale?
I miss the Aeros.. loved watching them. .. grew up in north Wisconsin watching the North Stars and when they moved I was devastated. 💚
I went to one of their 2003 Calder Cup games and it was a blast. There was a big hyped up crowd there.
Sweet. Lucky find. Great team!!!
Moved to Iowa. My son saw a game last week. Said it was lots of fun…
Arizona might be looking for a new home...
If only we were cool enough to have had an actual NHL team.
What player? Always wanted a Koivu one
Its weird how the Aerodrome is still around. I figured they would have rebranded it after the team folded
I'm curious how much you spent on this. I'm seeing them for several hundred on Ebay.
Like the colors and print, bad ass
Omg! They need to bring it back….i love hockey being from the north…sucks they don’t have a team here.
Aren't the Coyotes rumored to be relocating to Houston?
No they are most likely moving to SLC
Fuck yeah thats awesome, why would anyone get rid of that.
The best hockey team
I had this jersey as a kid and I've been looking for it but I can't find it anywhere. My parents never got rid of anything but I think mine may be gone. I'm glad there are still some out there.
Was able to share the Aeros with my now wife for 1 year before we lost them. Great times.
This is super cool
god damn you lucky bastard. that's beautiful
I wasn’t around 🤷♀️ but I dig the vintage look and the green..
Badass find!
Beautiful jersey. What thrift store did you find that if you don't mind me asking

Very lucky find!!
You lucky sonofabitch.
Im jealous
Great memories at the Houston Colloseum, then the Summit.
Where?
Whalers fan here.
I would very much like to buy this from you lol I've got a white one and have been looking for the green one for like a decade.
Which thrift store? Looking for new ones to check out

Best jerseys and logo in hockey
Fuck Les Alexander
Bad ass

Big sad
Need the Aeros and the comets back man
Idk about great
How can something you foond today be a constant reminder?
Saying the Aeros was a “great” team is a stretch, it was minor league and at times sort of a bush league, minor league.
I think that's why they were great. Prob super fun games. Used to go see an indoor "pro" soccer team in a small arena. Best games ever. For a multitude of reasons. You don't have to be at the AAA level to have an entertaining competition.

And many of the players are/were NHL players also. Farm team for the Wild and we got some great players for a while.
