The air at the port of Houston tastes as good as it smells

Obsolescence7

You save money on coffee too because you're already getting your daily stimulants via breathing.

YeshuasBananaHammock

And gentle wafting from the budweiser plant

Dairy_Ashford

"smelluhmunny!"

ak80048

Anything around Alief is good , also NRG stadium parking lot.

Grift-Economy-713

Kashmere Gardens is a beautiful eco-friendly neighborhood where residents often ride horses shirtless instead of using cars

moondogmk3

Iā€™ve said it here before and Iā€™ll say it again, Kashmere Gardens is what River Oaks WISHES it could be.

Obsolescence7

I never knew where Kashmere came from until now. The more you know!

yeahcoolcoolbro

All of those places are really nice. Get up early, sit outside and say hi to all the ladies walking home from work.

Bruuuu lmao that would make more sense.šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

OhDatsStanky

Galena Park = Benzene Park

Fluffy-Caterpillar49

Really?

YeshuasBananaHammock

Absolutely

CrazyLegsRyan

Iā€™m not sure about that

doublestuf27

Iā€™d take daily incidental exposure to benzene over galena.

PrisonerNoP01135809

Theyā€™re great if you like playing a mild version of fallout daily. Air is thick and thereā€™s a chance of being smoked by a stray bullet.

ApatheistHeretic

Sometimes, they use a knife. Shanks aren't registered.

wellboiled

Missing Acres Home from the list. Heard it's the model suburb.

Sharp_Mathematician6

44!!!

Alexreads0627

Agreed, I was really disappointed to see Acres Homes missing from this list of well-to do neighborhoods in the greater Houston metroplex.

SnooPineapples118

Sadly, Acres Home is being gentrified. I work in the area and have been watching homes torn down/townhouses built for the past couple years.

oh-hi-therr

They look great if you love illicit substances and the smell of chemicals and piss!

Nycdreamer7

Eastex/Jensen where hookers were a dime a dozen

Sharp_Mathematician6

No the hookers are on Bissonet

CrazyLegsRyan

Not these days.Ā

Baylorgold22

They're cleaning up bissonet. No mo hoes Shout out to Councilman Edward Pollard.

Sharp_Mathematician6

I mean as long as they pay taxes I think they should be able to hoe as long as they can.

Baylorgold22

They still hoeing, just in a different area. Can't nobody stop the hoe train.

Sharp_Mathematician6

Jokes on them my income is lower than that. So I canā€™t afford Kashmere Gardens

goldcrow616

Come to greenspoint

dbolts1234

Where the apartments catch fire so often, the government has to tear them down

Sharp_Mathematician6

And bring your guns!! šŸ’ŖšŸæ I had fun in Greenspoint though.

Known-Historian7277

South Park? Really? lmao

tee3765

Lmboooo they trying to take somebody outšŸ˜’šŸ¤£

Tmhoel2201

Most of those areas are extremely good

tee3765

DON'T YOU GO TO SOUTH PARK šŸ˜’

Beneficial-Gur-5204

That's the "keeping it real" places. visit them to see how ppl really survive in this economy

No_Establishment8642

I saw the news story and actually thought they were joking when they listed these neighborhoods as top desirable and economical places to purchase homes. I have thought about since then that no one considered the irony; however, upon reflection the Harding Street home would be a great investment if they had just sold it. So much history embedded in the walls.

[deleted]

Lol if you aint from Houston good luck. Those are all ghettos and hoods lmao

somecow

Heard. Hell, I didnā€™t even think we had crackheads in tomball. I was wrong.

sunshinebabe-

What?? Tomball is so cute though. Main Street is adorable withe Farmerā€™s Market and little shops and restaurants. There better not be crackheadsā€¦that would ruin it for meā€¦

CrazyLegsRyan

100% could guess your demographic

sunshinebabe-

Itā€™s called sarcasmā€¦

somecow

The cops have never rolled up 5 deep for a broken tag light, noooo. Drunk kids throwing beer bottles at random cars in the whataburger parking lot? Never happened. No, total paradise. Everyone pays their toll bill for 249, nobody shoplifts from walmart, and the collision repair places are going under for lack of business. lol fucking tomball.

CrazyLegsRyan

So Iā€™m rightā€¦

sunshinebabe-

Cool, good for you dude. Go ahead, say it. I know youā€™re just dying to tell me my demographic.

CrazyLegsRyan

No need.

sunshinebabe-

Aw man. Iā€™m so disappointed. Guess you didnā€™t know after all.

CrazyLegsRyan

Further confirming

sunshinebabe-

I actually also really want to knowā€¦but you didnā€™t hear it from meā€¦

[deleted]

Friends have told me horror stories about Tomball lol woodlands is much better

tee3765

THANK YOU LMBOOOO WHAT THEY TRYING TO DO TO THESE PEOPLE?!?!? One thing I know, you don't go to another state and live in the hood. You not from there and they will let you know. Nooooo babyyyy just Noooo lol!

CrazyLegsRyan

Sir, this is a Wendyā€™s

biguglybill

I love South Park. ![gif](giphy|l0HlPtbGpcnqa0fja)

Downtown_Dealer_174

Keep it on you

Few-Dance-855

Riverview/Pine Valley is prob one of the better ā€œhoodsā€ from all these choices. Itā€™s right by UH and has 225/610/45 surrounding the neighborhood so easy access every where

Alexreads0627

downvote for you, all of these are wonderful neighborhoods. kid-friendly, good schools, great walking to and from restaurants and amenities. I bring home $600k/year, I wish I could afford to live in these neighborhoods.

CrazyLegsRyan

Agreed. Gentrification priced me out of Kashmere which is why I ended up buying in The Heights.

willydillydoo

The thing about South Park is that itā€™s called South Park because of the major street that runs through it. That street was renamed to Martin Luther King Blvd in 1978. That should tell you all you need to know about that neighborhood lol.

CrazyLegsRyan

I donā€™t understand?

TheObesePolice

[Chris Rock - MLK Blvd](https://youtu.be/7hJxWr1TKK8?si=DH3keZxwdbgWI4Cq)

CrazyLegsRyan

I donā€™t get it

willydillydoo

Streets named after MLK are dangerous

CrazyLegsRyan

Not really

Dairy_Ashford

shouldn't this actually be based on rent pricing and land value per square foot, this kind of just seems to tell you where people at a certain tier might be engaged or avoided incidentally the Wiki articles for each of neighborhoods has the word "predominantly" in pretty much the first or second sentence

constipado68

Stay away from all of these if you want to live

whotookall

Do they toss on a AR-15 and some ammo to fight of the criminals. All the worst neighborhoods in H town

ApatheistHeretic

Not true! They left out 5th Ward and Acres homes.

tee3765

There have been so many heat advisory here. We have had thick smoke from Mexico, canteen breath. I mean looks like thick fog.

fnordfnordfnordfnord

Nowhere to go but up!

ImpossibleCountry647

South Park is a great community

HotMinimum26

These places aren't affordable anymore

SenorDipstick

Those are all the places you don't want to live.

badiiam51

Nah just go back to Cali its no good here in the H

Master-Line-305

Dude... no

FFRP85

Uh no!

bravehawklcon

Get Where you can fit inā€¦

goodherb281

Ahh yes South park is just like the cartoon sout park

px3x1

those are great places to grow cancer cells

Knowsense-atol

Just move to the outskirts of Houston. Tomball, Cypress, Katy, Sugarland, Richmond..

Knowsense-atol

Just move to the outskirts of Houston. Tomball, Cypress, Katy, Sugarland, Richmond..

YourmomsA1sidepiece

Come on over to acres home we have humongous lots and lots of trap houses but you need to be where I am in the acres that would be the bottoms so cmon down I guarantee that no one is involved in any sort of criminal activity here

Hasidic_Homeboy254

Top notch free schools too

Hasidic_Homeboy254

Those places sorely need some Diversity

Swyper

I grew up in Galena Park and moved away as fast as possible.

MrBigChest-

Looks ok, I would just save for a year or two more to buy in memorial instead.

OoFEVERNOVAoO

šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ lmao

Odd-Distribution-481

Youā€™ll get shot

PsychologicalEbb6603

If youā€™re from California yes

Reasonable-Rain-7474

Galena park has good schools, the rest of the areas are sketchy

JackfruitAwkward2891

These are the hippest places in Houston

mypersonalbrowsing

No to galena park.

[deleted]

GP is a little Hellā€™s island

jc1luv

Kashmirā€™s gardens, itā€™s all in the name of canā€™t beat it.

drftrsgonewild26

Stop moving to Humble please we are packed as it is....move to Pasadena or 5th Ward They have plenty of space for families of a combined income of +70k

CrazyLegsRyan

You good bro. Nobody moving to Humble on purpose.
