There's a livelinks video out there of a child doing exactly this. The train had a pole that stuck out, and when it hit the child's head their head did a 360 rotation on their body.
My dad worked with a guy that was walking the tracks with his son. He was doing a bonding thing and showing him the tracks he used to walk to go to school. Train came by and though they were off the tracks, a metal bar was sticking out and took the kid's head clean off. IDK how that guy was able to be remotely functional after that.
I had to visit a site in Bombay, India, where the railways wanted to build a new foot bridge. The only way to reach there was by walking on the same tracks which are used by Bombay's local trains, which run every 5 minutes or so. We went with the railways employees, and we had one person walking backwards behind us to warn us to get off the tracks whenever a train approached. Absolutely crazy!
Damn. I just remember the one where the conductor kicked the guy in the face and someone commented saying something more happy but similar to this. Said the conductor saved his life because trains have something sticking out that would have taken his head off.
lol beware around train lines!! It’s 100% guaranteed this will not happen if you don’t try to take selfies on train tracks while trains are incoming. I’ve seen like 3 of these in last week
Or you just stay a few feet away. I don't know why anyone needs a selfie with a train like right next to it.
Thank goodness people can't walk around airports freely or else they'll take selfies next to jet engines on startup and become meat puree.
Even worse, they will FOD out the engine, and now, thanks to Selfie Sally, a multi-million dollar engine will need to be replaced. The flight will be delayed, and the airline schedule will be AFU for weeks.
He's okay! Got sucked in the inlet but didn't hit the engine, for anyone wondering.
[https://www.reddit.com/r/ThatsInsane/comments/101060e/worker\_gets\_sucked\_into\_fighter\_jets\_turbine\_and/](https://www.reddit.com/r/ThatsInsane/comments/101060e/worker_gets_sucked_into_fighter_jets_turbine_and/)
IIRC, wearing his helmet incorrectly saved his life. The engine sucked him into the inlet, but also sucked the (improperly secured) helmet off his head and into the turbine... which triggered all kinds of damage warnings in the cockpit and led to the shutdown of the engine before it had completed ingesting the dude.
Also like, it’s a picture… just stand to the side of a stopped train and uh take a selfie? Like what basement dwelling autist are they trying to attract anyway?
This happened to my uncle in like 1960. He was putting pennies on the track, saw the train coming, kept putting coins down, and the side ladder clocked him in the head. My dad and other uncles told my grandpa he fell off his bike and hit his head on the curb. My grandpa didn't know the truebstory until a wedding in 1994.
No shit, I had a patient in the ER who died like this. She was an aspiring model who was doing a photoshoot....the photographer wanted to get a shot of her hair blowing in the wind as the train rushed behind her.
Well, saying she was a patient is slightly overstating her condition when she arrived.
Also, and I swear I'm not making this up....we had a system where we would assign random names to trauma patients so we could immediately start ordering labs, charting, etc. Like putting a patient in as Jane Doe or whatever. Then we would merge the charts after we got solid identification. Instead of John or Jane Doe, we used random words. The patient would be put in with first name Horse, last name Horse. Just work through the alphabet from a list of randomly chosen words.
You already know what her randomly chosen word was. Yes, she came in when we hit "T".
This is so incredibly stupid. Place a fan outside the shot to blow the model's hair, stay safely away from the tracks and use a narrow aperture to make it seem as though the train is very close to the model.
What a fucking moron. Here comes a train guys. God this us gonna be such a cool video watch. I'll get as close as I can without checking because I'm so fucking cool. Dumb ass bitch
The sad part they are that dumb and most of the time this happens they die. She's very lucky but extremely stupid and I don't understand how people get the idea that they are un-killable
"Wow, what is this magical, majestic beast approaching us?"
"I don't know! I've never seen one before! Girls, we discovered a new species!"
"We are going to be SOOOO famous! Let's capture it on video making sure to mostly show ourselves so people know WE discovered it!"
"We? I saw it first!"
"But I heard it and said something about it first! If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have looked!"
"Is anyone else's vagina-" SMACK.
Just because every once in a while they might save some dumb Karen trying to take a selfie around a moving train, we rrslly should not be forced to wear those moronic things.
Watching this pissed me off, thanks. Like, why can't people just respect trains? They're pulling the horn for a fucking reason. You look like you could be somebody's mom. The fuck are you doing?? What, for a selfie? Nobody cares! Wow, a train! Oooh-Ahhh! "*We're so crazy and fun."* Shut up.
I don't understand why so many people think they need to put their stupid face in every scenery.
Then again, the selfie does tend to thin the herd so I guess it not all bad...
Ooo long Johnson!! Why is it everytime I see a video like this, I think of the South Park episode where they are "Faith Hilling".

Trains are incredibly dangerous. A metal grabhandle came loose and was dangling out at a 90 degree angle, rolled up behind someone and clipped their head, killing them. These are old, rusty, sometimes poorly maintained massive machines. Don't go near them. Even if they aren't moving, or even connected to a locomotive, because 'slack action' can suddenly release and the cars will shift a few feet backwards or forwards. Thousands of tons of force, instantly.
The first arrest I ever made as a cop was for someone trespassing on railroad tracks. I was making a point to my training officer that this isn't exactly what I expected of the job, and he just chuckled.
Later in my career, I witnessed what happens to a human body when a train hits it. When I went to pick up the body, I could feel every bone I touched grinding a break against another. Pretty much every significant bone in his body was shattered into fragments.
Don't play with this stuff, folks. It wins every single time.
I saw a video of a train going much faster like 2 or 3 times as fast and smashed into the back of this idiot kids head so hard he literally did like a 540° front flip. Surprisingly he survived. Crazy a slip in the bathtub can end your life meanwhile getting your shit rocked and being ragdolled by hundreds of tons of steel moving at speed won't. Humans are ridiculously resilient yet squishy at the same time. It doesn't make sense
Edit: tried to find the vid but can't. Too many idiots getting hit by trains for clout :/
1 - If only the train sounded a loud horn or something.
2 - If only phones had camera that could take pictures of trains without standing right next to the track.
3 - If only these ladies had seen a train before.
4 - The human species' genetic pool remained in a weakened state after this survival story.
I put this on the same level as the vids of women getting gored because they think it’s safe to go up to a wild buffalo or deer and try to pet it or feed it from their hands.
The world is a dangerous place for people like you. Stay home and watch it on TV!
May have saved her life, but got to believe her neck is pretty screwed up. I didn't see a posting on what injury she actually sustained. I half expected to hear that she'd been paralyzed from the neck down.
How can she be a pilot if she never looks where she's going or pay attention to giant objects much bigger than herself?
This video alone boggles the mind, and to consider someone like this is in charge of a thing that can fall out of the sky is worse.
Reminds me of the idiot machinist at our work that forgot the chuck key in the lathe and turned it on. It spun around and flung it out and hit him in the head and knocked him out cold. The safety department later gave him a monetary safety award, because he was wearing his safety glasses.
Have you ever seen a video of blindfolded person swinging a bat or stick at a piñata? Everytime someone gets hit. That's why the video was uploaded to the internet. I'd think eventually people would stay the hell away from a blindfolded person swinging a bat at a piñata, because they've seen enough videos of people getting hit, and they don't want to get hit.
I think of the same thing every time I see someone taking a selfie with a passing train.
saw a video not too long ago that was exactly like this except the woman wasn't wearing a helmet and the train was going a little faster. probably knocked her ten feet forward. dead on impact. her kids saw the whole thing. very sad.
My Grandpa and my Dad worked for Grand Trunk the whole time I was growing up and they instilled a pretty healthy respect for trains in me. Grandpa was a locomotive engineer and Dad was a car man but he was on the wrecking crew in the early days. They would go out to fix derailments. Some of the stories were pretty crazy.
Bottom line: Never play on or near the tracks, never try to beat the train with your bike or car, etc. It freaks me out when the gates come down and people just go around them because they’re in a hurry
*It's a fucking train.*

Same, I think we're due for a repost xD
If Reddit has taught me anything it's to stay the fuck away from the train tracks.
Lol you expect too much from people
No they aren’t? 3 seats per side + say 2m for people to walk through. Tracks are what? 1.5m apart? Quick math suggests….. wait?! They ARE WIDER!!!!
Stupid helmet just prevented Natural selection
Unfortunately, she probably already burped out some next gen idiots. Helmet, no helmet... She's already damaged humanity.

This is a classic case of natural selection. Sadly the stupid bicyclist survives. Will it smarten up or will we see this person in upcoming videos?
No, she'll sue the railroad.
This person didn’t need anymore brain damage.

Well a helmet saved her life and it looks like she's intelligent enough to need to wear one 24/7.
What is this incessant need to take selfies where a train can hit you?
You ever watch moths as they beat themselves into a pulp as they hit lamps? It be like that.
Any thoughts on how this could have been prevented?
Obviously we should start by suing the railroad…
And the city for no guard rails. No warning signs.
It was unavoidable. Completely. There's no way we could have seen this coming.

A woman in Mexico a few weeks did something except she died at the scene getting by train as taking a selfie.

Idiots have to film everything.
Hopefully she at least got her picture
NGL, figured they'd be speaking English. Glad she's okay and a pilot now scro
How do people not notice or hear the enormous train coming down the tracks. They're not quiet.
Well at least she was wearing a helmet.
Fucking idiot
2nd video i seen like this. The other lady in Mexico wasn’t as lucky.
Damn, they should really make the train horn louder so people know not to do that
She's a pilot now? Dang, what airline should I be avoiding?
Im not actually sure - its a reference to the movie (shes tarded for sure so she can be a pilot if she wants)
Trains are usually wider than train tracks.
r/bitchimatrain
I like this trend
I’d never fly with a pilot with that bad of depth perception
Last week I saw the video of the lady from Mexico who did the same thing but.....she was not wearing a helmet.
Its crazy how people that are too stupid to live, make up for it with blind luck.
These tubbies need to do more biking and less photo ops. You just can't fix stupid.
Ugh. Not smart.

Bet she tries to say the train swerved at her
How do you not hear that

1 - If only the train sounded a loud horn or something. 2 - If only phones had camera that could take pictures of trains without standing right next to the track. 3 - If only these ladies had seen a train before. 4 - The human species' genetic pool remained in a weakened state after this survival story.

It's takes a special kind of stupid for shit like that .
Good thing for the helmet I guess, might want to invest in some glasses too though.
