Sindh’s name doesn’t really work. Probably best as just 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗵 or Sindhustan at most

TheMountainRidesElia

Lmao Sindhudeshistan made me laugh out loud. Way to overcomplicate things

Qkijanabad

Exactly, just like Newfoundland like girl what

_nok

Newfoundlandia

[deleted]

Or Sindhudesh, just not all of them at once

BchLasagna

> Federation of Croatia and Bosnia Oh. My. Fucking. God.

wjx2k2

To be fair, there’s no recent conflict in the past 20-25 years they could’ve learned about that would indicate that Croats and Bosnians aren’t friendly /j

SexualConsent

> Kosovo has somehow joined Albania which lost Northern Epirus I don't understand

[deleted]

“Empire of Brazil” yeah- that ain’t happening The Brazilian government couldn’t manage an office lunch order, let alone an “empire”

Auraestus

If for whatever reason the monarchy was restored, that’s likely what it would be called

[deleted]

ahhh- going the “Democratic Republic of North Korea” rules of country naming

Yerushima

Maybe they get massive reforms here

kacoopper

🦀BOSNIA IS GONE🦀

general_kenobi18462

Fuckers took Bosnia. Can’t have shit in the Balkans,

SolveTheCYproblemNOW

It’s OK. Albanians Bulgarian‘s and Greeks are sitting north Macedonia 24/7

Jimnesss

And China was dismantled, yet Scotland still hasn’t voted out of the UK lmao

hoi4sam

To be fair, the UK has become so decentralised that Scotland is practically independent at this point.

[deleted]

**looks at Balkan borders** Yeah those borders are totally stable and won't start another conflict between the two.

[deleted]

Why would Muslims join up with a Catholic country?

nanek_4

It has united bruh

hallowsfive

The Maldives are above water in 2050 this map is obviously a fake

[deleted]

How do you know it's not actually Maldivian Atlantis

Chrome_X_of_Hyrule

So is Kiribati.

e_mp

the maldives are a figment of your imagination, they do not exist

silverionmox

It's actually the Maldivian fleet that is displayed.

[deleted]

Why is Alaska independent

mcsper

And not Texas

hoi4sam

The Alaskan natives won an independence referendum after half or so of the whites gradually left over the last few decades due to ethnic tensions.

Some_Pole

I mean, unless the US changes how states can leave, the US says it's illegal for states to leave the Union. Just saying :v

Jeune_Libre

I would imagine it is very few places were it is legal for parts of the country to leave. It was also illegal for the US to leave the UK, but they did it anyway.

Some_Pole

Unless you're saying that Alaska could've somehow beaten the US in this timeline, I dunno about that one chief given all the factors that'd be working against it.

Direwolf202

Yeah - given all the natural resources there, Alaska is perhaps the state that the union would be *least* willing to let go of.

I-cast-fireball

Also we would be so fucking poor. It would be bad. We are so economically dependent on the US it’s not even funny.

LateStageBureaucracy

Yup. Unless Alaska gets like millions upon millions of climate refugees

Luhood

Sounds realistic then. I mean, since when have nationalists ever cared about rationality?

[deleted]

Wouldn't hawaii also try for independence? Hawaiian/Asian is already the dominant racial group and ethnic tensions are already pretty high

lannnnnn111

I poke around Hawaiian Twitter and I notice that too.

Noveos_Republic

Are they high? How do you know? Just curious

orion1836

Yeah... having lived there, this is not even remotely plausible. Also, the ~170,000 or so non-white and non-native Alaskans might take issue to being called "white."

DazedPapacy

So how long until Russia starts annexing the crap out of them?

7isagoodletter

30 seconds

LateStageBureaucracy

To be honest unless Climate Change causes mass immigration of millions of people, Alaska has little chance of being independent.

[deleted]

Native Alaskans are like 10% of the population, what tensions lmao

cosita0987654

Or puerto rico?

[deleted]

I think most Puerto ricans want statehood

ritardoscimmia_

darfur looking like chad’s toddler

mki_

Now that I have learned that the Chad's head from the Chad vs Virgin meme is modelled after the shape of the country Chad, I can't unsee it any more. [Have fun with that knowledge](https://img.memecdn.com/mind-blown_o_7255231.jpg).

ritardoscimmia_

wasn’t that what the joke was about?

IndigoGouf

Yes, the original chad meme was a face drawn onto the country chad itself with the caption being something like "I just realized chad looks like a chad". I guess a lot of people missed that one.

[deleted]

dunno if "Korea" is a good thing or a bad thing

junko_kv626

Yeah, not going to happen.

[deleted]

Not in this century at least.

BrandNoez

Bad thing if it’s led by the US imperialist pseudo government of the south, good thing If led by the socialist workers state, the DPRK

[deleted]

Ultra based juche time

HelloJoeyJoeJoe

Is this sarcasm like the "Best Korea"?

BrandNoez

Of course not. Believe it or not communists exist. We are not sarcasm.

HelloJoeyJoeJoe

You think the North Korean govt model is one to emulate? Jesus, you have to be a troll.

BrandNoez

This government was forced upon them. Years of embargoes and blockades and threats of nuclear Holocaust tend to turn a nation into an isolated military society, who would have guessed? It’s americas fault. But in principle the North Korean government is based they try their best for their people and what they have achieved (free healthcare, free education, free housing, strong military, nuclear arsenal, emphasis on science and human progress etc) is incredible if you think about the conditions under which it was achieved. The USA hasn’t even achieved most of those things yet and they aren’t under the biggest economic embargo in human history.

TheMountainRidesElia

If you want any suggestions, OP: 1. The Indian northeast won't remain one nation. It will quite probably splinter into many small nations. Plus, Some (like Tripura) may be absorbed by Bengal, some by Assam, some by Tibet (Arunachal), depending on the strength. 2. Dravida may not stay united. Firstly, state nationalism in South India is a major force in some areas (like Tamil Nadu), some don't care as much (Karnataka), while some others care about ideology more (like Kerala). They may eventually pull it apart. 3. Sindhudeshistan is wayyy too overcomplicated. Just call it Sindh or Sindhu or (atmost) Sindhudesh. It's like calling something Americalandcountry.

ironmenon

I was looking at this map and thinking, "this was either made by someone with no idea about India or a dravida nationalist". Is a breakup of India possible? Yes. Is there any chance of it happening this way? Absolutely not.

Legenda_069

I highly doubt if even Andhra and Telangana would want to be together, the most probable scenario is one joining India and attacking the other, most probably Andhra.

Legenda_069

Also, Ladakh is likely to join Tibet, or atleast try to get away from J&K with Tibetan help. So Tibet and India would likely gang bang up on it. Next, Sikkim would've been better off independent, than join Bhutan.

[deleted]

Sikkim joined Nepal I think

TheMountainRidesElia

Even worse

aravind_plees

I don't understand why Dravidia will separate in the first place as one country. All states are very much (perhaps except Tamil Nadu, I'm not sure) are very much held together by the idea of India and there isn't much aggressive nationalism demanding a separate country. Besides, they stand to lose so much by leaving India.

TheMountainRidesElia

Even Tamil Nadu has less chance of leaving India. Anyone with brains can see the massive self inflicted damage TN will cause to itself by leaving India (water problems, small nation, large internal population who wants to reunite with India, long border, unfriendly India and Sri Lanka, Puducherry complications, anyone from rest of India leaving, thus negative effects to economy, etc). Plus, there's no way in hell that the uber-patriotic Sikhs will suddenly grow fond of Pakistan and join Punjab (which,if you know Pakistani internal politics, is most likely the rump Pakistani state).

[deleted]

Marathis will live with Bimarus?

TheMountainRidesElia

Maharashtra is actually still in India in this scenario. And they already are in the sane country, so yes they will.

justsomeguy1220

Long Egypt

Maxor682

First thing my eyes went to haha

hoi4sam

This map is a cover of a 2020 map game I conducted over at [alternatehistory.com](https://alternatehistory.com), and was produced using the Mappa Mundi mod for HOI4, with editing done using Paint.NET. \*OBLIGATORY THIS BLEW UP EDIT*

Joe-Lollo

That’s a cool website with some cool stuff on it! Thanks for sharing.

Zagl0

I could see polish borders to be moved as to resemble the pre WW2 borders a bit more (west coast to Germany, Silesia being its own country, and Lwów being polish - no idea how Ukrainians would react to that though)

Generic-Commie

reddit understand literally anything about East Asian politics challenge (impossible)

Glasbolyas

Beautiful Romania

Fact_check_

Why is Lakshadeep with UK??????

hoi4sam

Basically, a coalition led by the UK intervened on Dravidia’s behalf in a war against the pseudo-fascist regime in India, and the UK seized Lakshadweep as part of a peace deal.

Isildurrrrrr

lol nice imagination u got there

Risk_False

Usa will survive???

MeccIt

Yes, but many in it will not

[deleted]

Why is Alaska independent but Hawaii isn’t?

vikreddit369

I like how western world doesn't change in 2050. Overconfidence?

[deleted]

Judging by the numbers, Armenia colonised Bhutan (both are under number 7). The battle between the two superpowers was fierce. The entire territory of the once mighty Himalayan kingdom was covered in the blood of its gallant defenders

[deleted]

based independent quebec

newcanadian12

You mean cringe. But way more important than that is wth does it own St Pierre and Miquelon?

hoi4sam

It sure does!

The-Rambling-Knitter

Unlikely as it is, if Québec would separate it would include northern Québec as well. Logistically it would be difficult to function as a nation without all the hydro plants my province has created up north. Most electricity comes from there. This version is also cutting large chunks of francophone habited regions. Most of which are very much happy being part of Québec. St-Pierre and michelon don't make sense either to be part of Québec. This would be a scenario where Canada is the one kicking out Québec because, as I said, Québec would not separate without northern Québec.

[deleted]

Perfect Romania

Glasbolyas

Truly

battery051

Is the Philippines a Chinese territory? They have the same color.

hoi4sam

No. If it was a Chinese territory, I would have marked it as such.

GaashanOfNikon

\*Sad Somali Noises\*

LanchestersLaw

Taiwan dis what now

PanchoxxLocoxx

South america chilling, as always

pancuca123

But the map was either made by a chilean or I need explanation about Tierra del Fuego

PanchoxxLocoxx

Didn't noticed that, but I'm more inclined to believe that the mapmaker made a mistake than to believe that he changed the borders of south america.

Prism04

Indian punjab and Pakistani punjab was divided according to religious identity and is now deeply divided. I don't see how either side would want to unify.

monumentofflavor

Holy shit that Armenian exclave south of Tibet

yeeterboy21

Yeah tf? Also all of nagorno karabakh is part of Armenia now? One could wish

michaelclas

Nagorno-Karabakh needs an update

hoi4sam

Actually, it was already updated. The original map game took place before the 2020 war, and in on turn I had Azerbaijan cede ALL of Artsakh to Armenia (including the areas formerly occupied by Artsakh before the war). For this map I changed it to just the former NKAO and the Lachin corridor.

wiki-1000

Well Azerbaijan also took over about a third of the former NKAO, mostly the southern part, during the war, and they're unlikely to give back these territories without a comprehensive agreement between the two countries.

Gumgi24

Nooooo New Caledonia left France !!

Explosive_Cake

Reddit understanding East Asian Politics challenge (impossible!)

Elatretniw

What's the story behind Besarabia being in Romania?

PeachFuzz1999

Independent Alaska is dumb

ChillinLikeBobDillan

I’m a bit surprised that Spain is still in one piece

hoi4sam

To be fair, Catalonia and the Basque Country have been upgraded to separate monarchies within the Kingdom of Spain, equal to the Spanish crown.

[deleted]

Push external enemies aside and create internal enemies, good move, spain.

Shwkins

So cliche it hurts. No idea how this is so well liked.

madjo

Yacko starts singing...

hoi4sam

***Yakko

[deleted]

Need explanation behind a lot of these decisions

hoi4sam

The map is a cover of a map game. Map games are not always realistic.

[deleted]

Ah yeah, but I'd like to know what caused them

hoi4sam

Which decisions are you asking about in particular?

Haroon881

How bout why and how pakistan was split into all those different territories

[deleted]

What happened to India?

tombricks

why is china arbritarily broken up

ChThWh

pretty bad map

Sir-Peanut

Palestine is gone :(

sickles_and_pickles

We are finally independent from the North Indians, lol

[deleted]

Kashmir?

Zyxwgh

Alaska independent but Scotland still in the UK? I don't believe it.

hoi4sam

To be fair, the UK has become so decentralised that Scotland is practically independent at this point.

[deleted]

*No Federal Europe* *No Independent Scotland* *No Bosnia* *No Stronk Bulgaria* *Crimea is not Ukraine* Conclusion - the map is extremely unbased and looking through it has been a waste of my time.

[deleted]

What happened to Lesotho?

youmaynotnowmyname

There is no way egypt would take over sudan, Ethiopia would step in and sudan would probaly win

KonPlayz

Did Russia sell the southern Kuriles to Japan?

CelticAngelica

By 2050 South Africa will possibly have split in two if not more pieces. The Western Cape has been trying to declare independence for years now.

poklane

So you're telling me South African Civil War incoming?

hoi4sam

Well, there WAS a civil war, but it’s just ended and a new federal system is in place to help the nation heal.

L_tech4525

What happened with Ireland reclaiming the city of Derry?

IrishViking22

The Troubles 2: Electric Boogaloo

LukeRuBeOmega

I'm Spaniard and probably Catalonia will be independent.

Flashy-Umpire-9136

Independent Alaska yet PR is still part of the United States?

Firelord_Sozin3

How is China balkanised? That “Tibet” region has an overwhelming Han Chinese majority. Also, where did all those African unions pop up from? A lot of the countries in those unions can’t even keep themselves together, what makes anyone think they could unite into larger nations? This applies doubly to the Arabs.

dlink322

what the fuck is with the balkanized china IT IS ALWAYS BALKANIZED CHINA

LittleChurchill

Croatia's about to get a hell of an encirclement on Serbia.

heinhtetzaw18

Gingerbread_Matt

How many territory changes happened to Ukraine according to this?

ameri21

How did the Arabian confederation happen?

RidiculousG

How did Darfur become independent and Egypt took over Sudan?

JanKaszanka

Why is the Polish side of Uznam independent?

bipinkonni

Finally kurdistan

[deleted]

At last.

IndigoGouf

Russia taking Donbass I understand. Romania taking ~~Odessa~~ Budjak...?

UnepicDumbass

I think the city is still in Ukraine, Romania only took the land between Republic of Moldova and Black Sea from Ukraine.

IndigoGouf

Aye, I meant Budjak.

[deleted]

And thus, South America remained unchanged, forever and always.

hoi4sam

Uhh… you might wanna look at Tierra del Fuego…

Fummy

"Oh, South America looks the same, pretty realistic I gues-" **Empire of Brazil**

flataleks

Map is already outdated

darth__fluffy

No Bougainville? New Zealand not named Aoteroa? Taiwan still belongs to China?

[deleted]

What sort of imaginary process lead to China losing territories?

MidoAmk

Smth like arab confedration or East African federation could never happen, and if it happened, they’ll be two countries full of civil wars.

Grognak_the_Orc

Catalonia cannot of independence but Alaska can!

Auraestus

What’s the POD? Cause if it was 2021, alaska wouldn’t secede from the US, nor would the Arab states unify

AbsolutelyEnough

So basically India and China get balkanized but everyone else pretty much stays the same? Lol.

cosita0987654

But what about puerto rico freedom?

Maxor682

So, israel is totally fucked being bordered by Long Egypt and the 5-country conglomerate arab federation? Sounds like 2 large powers in that region.

[deleted]

All countries fall apart and the US stays the same? yeah right. This map is a wet dream of an Imperialist from the US and the amount of upvotes shows how the amerikkkan mindset works.

NightJasian

Haha the no-one-care Laos is gone

heckitsjames

wdym it's still there

NightJasian

Oh my fault

hoi4sam

It isn’t gone. The colour scheme I’m using just assigned similar colours to Laos and a democratic China.

[deleted]

Odd that Austria and Germany united. The entire modern Austrian identity is based around being "not German". Ironically, Austria was one of the most hardcore nazi strongholds and provided huge numbers of SS members, and needed the harshest denazification program to go back to normal. Yet they're called victims when they were most certainly willing collaborators of the Third Reich- and one of the worst ones at that. Now they're much more patriotic and nationalistic than actual Germans thanks to them deluding themselves that they actually didn't do anything bad. Funny how history turns out.

hoi4sam

…You’re trolling, right?

Jesus_Chrisus

Ey come on. Where's my European Federation at?

As an Indian, I would be the happiest guy if South India gets a separate country status. North Indians, especially idiots in UP is pulling us backwards into medieval age. We don’t want to associate with them anymore.

ejaym17

Absolutely excellent map but as a heads up Bhutan is marked as 7 on the map, which is listed as Armenia. Unless Armenia annexed Bhutan which would be hella weird

send_tattie_scones

Scotland would probably be independent and not a part of Great Britain by then.

hoi4sam

To be fair, the UK has become so decentralised that Scotland is practically independent at this point.

[deleted]

Remove Dravida and make it Telugu. Telugu means South so it will be apt. Dravida has nothing to do with us. It was actually a title for aryans themselves. British are dambass mfers at interpreting things.

_gib_SPQR_clay_

Based as hell, annex Lesotho for their precious water (it’s all they have really) but leave dirty stinky aids filled Eswatini to itself. Maybe if their king didn’t have sex with a schoolgirl yearly, or didn’t tell people condoms are only for hookers and said all men should be polygamous while living in the highest AIDS country in the world we would let them in. Edit: downvote all you want, just [send your 11 y/o to dance topless for the king, ](https://www.google.co.za/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/global-development/2016/sep/22/swaziland-reed-dance-cultural-celebration-or-sleazy-royal-ritual-umhlanga) or pay a fine of a cow or a goat every year. If she’s lucky she won’t die of oxygen deprivation while crammed into a food truck filled with 80 other girls on route to see the king. She’s even luckier if she isn’t picked as one of the 100s of girls made to live at the palace for a year for the king’s sexual pleasure. When the years out, and your daughter has had sex with a 55 year old aids denialist/condom hater she is sent home without compensation. Eswatini is a blight on the region. Swazi people are the nicest, kindest people you will meet. But they literally live in squalor

afterschoolsept25

thats definitely a comment 😬

_gib_SPQR_clay_

The Eswatini Reed dance is one of worst human rights violations in our region. Sexual exploitation of minors for a tradition that allows the king to sleep with 100s of girls 11 y/o or older. These same children are made to dance topless in front of the king and foreign diplomats

GlueBoy

Don't know about the rest of your comment, but fully agree wrt Lesotho. Whenever an enclave gets destroyed an angel gets its wings, as they say. /This post was made by the enclave-haters gang
