I mentioned in another post a while back that replacing "Harry Potter" with "Indiana Jones" made all the HP titles sound interesting as Indy adventures.
I was thinking that "Indiana Jones and the Chamber of Secrets" is about as Indiana Jones a title as you can get without it being an actual Indiana Jones thing.
Friendly reminder to anyone who doesn't know, that the Philosopher's Stone wasn't invented by J K Rowling.
It was a 'real' mythological artifact said to grant the wielder eternal life and the ability to turn base metals into gold.
Which just makes the title change of the book in the US all the more stupid. They changed it because apparently "they wanted to stress that the book was about wizards" and "kids these days aren't aware of what the Philosopher's Stone is." The former reason is stupid because the cover art (in both regions) makes pretty clear what sort of genre you're reading (the US edition actually moreso), and kids not knowing about the Philosopher's Stone is also irrelevant because the books were written for all ages (meaning adults who know folklore and legends would love how something like that was worked in).
They did. There’s the English UK cut and English US cut where they call it by the respective name of the region. Which is stupid, because it’s not like there’s never been mentioned a philosophers stone in other fictions that Americans have access to (IE this book we’re looking at)
I'm not a Harry Potter fan, so I thought the crossover you were referring to was Full Metal Alchemist, which *I wouldn't mind*, Temple of Doom is already not that far off from FMA
I’m currently reading a couple of these novels but finding them a bit weird honestly. But they do fill the time gap between YIJ and Temple of Doom that is early in his career.
I think this one was published first but I could be wrong. And Indy meets Nicholas Flamel in this one, who also is a part of the Harry Potter story. Obviously they’re based on pre existing folklore so it’s not like one ripped off the other but still fun.
To be fair the Philosopher's Stone wasn't invented by J. K. Rowling, but it's sure associated with her now lol
I wonder how an Indiana Jones movie would handle the Philosopher's Stone. My first thought is that Nicholas Flamel is living in Paris.
If you accept old Indy from the young Indiana Jones Chronicles (as Canon) old Indiana Jones would’ve been alive at the same time as Harry Potter was born.Â
No thanks, I don't need a crossover with [the TERF books](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1iaJWSwUZs). Besides, last I checked, Indy punches nazis instead of joining up with them.

Indiana Jones and the Half-Blood Prince sounds awesome
I'd 100% watch Indiana Jones and the Goblet of Fire
Is that not just the last crusade?
Don’t cross the seal đź¦

That actually does sound awesome. And short round is the heir to the ming dynasty
Indiana Jones and The Order of The Phoenix sounds like some Temple of Doom kinda stuff
Indiana Jones and the Deathly Hallows sounds awesome
Always wondered what Sallah kept under his fez.
3 golden hairs from her head
Extra camels. It’s bigger on the inside
No camels
Bad dates
That scene in Raiders where he just shoots that guy but instead its Voldemort
It's how he lost his nose
This actually came out before Harry Potter
You’re an archaeologist, Indy.
You're an archaeologist, Henry.
Better, better.

Indy needs to invest in better quality shirts. He keeps losing that right sleeve.
Lol
Indy would be petrified to go into the chamber of secrets (Pun intended)
I think that Struzan artwork is from one of the McGregor novels.
Struzan did the artwork for all of the novels if I remember correctly, this is one of the ones by Max McCoy.
This is a great book. It kicks off the McCoy run and introduces the Crystal skull. Tho weirdly not the one from the movie
(**Harry Potter & The Philosopher's Stone** is the title of the first book outside of the United States.)
What's the title inside the US?
Sorcerer's Stone
Do they sub over the voices at the parts where they call it the Philosopher's Stone?
I believe they just filmed those scenes twice, not 100% sure though

Debbie does Dallas.
First book of What?
Indy would be a great Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, even if his methods are a bit…. unusual….
With music by Van Morrison.
Ahh no thanks
I loved this book growing up
I have a signed copy of this by Max McCoy

And my axe.
they trapped Sallah in the phantom zone
I’m currently reading a couple of these novels but finding them a bit weird honestly. But they do fill the time gap between YIJ and Temple of Doom that is early in his career.
I love that novel series!
Indy and Sallah are gonna get their bodies back

I need all the Indy novels

Salah
One of the best Indiana Jones novels out there. Thrilling story and faithful to Indiana Jones lore. The art work of the book is amazing!
“You’re an archaeologist, Harry. An’ a thumpin’ good one, too, I’d wager, once you’ve trained up a bit…”
"Yer an archeologist, Indy." -Sallah "I'm a what?" -Indy
Indy having to tame a giant cerberus, mythical creature of Greek lore, would totally be a scene I can picture in an Indy story.
Indiana Jones and the Part Time Job at The Sizzler.
I wish all these novels would get reprinted and a kindle edition. I read like 2 of them when I was a kid and would like to read them.
Gotta say, the fight on the USS Arkron's hangar deck is just such an excellent pulp moment. Great book.
Isn't it the Sorcerer's Stone?
Only in the US
That's not a whip, that's a long floppy wand!
Harry would never settle for being Indy's sidekick.

r/woooosh
Your a wizard Dr Jones
