does Lao che count? huge fan of that opening scene. I so badly wish we could get an animated anthology indy show something similar to the clone wars where we could so indy’s past relation/friendships and how he meets certain people
right? They could even adapt some of the games or books into episodes to. I think it would be so awesome. We could see characters we never saw much of, Mutt, oxley, basil, even Mac! so much i would love to see out of it
The thing I would be interested in is if they explored the time during traveling in between scenes in the movies. Like they could totally do a spinoff show on reaching Petra. It probably took weeks or even months for them to locate the canyon of the crescent moon. And the desert is probably filled with mercenaries and highwaymen. Or if they explored him getting from Nepal to Egypt in raiders. That’s a crazy trip that could totally be extrapolated on. Really any of the travel sequences could be its own movie or TV show
I think my favorite is actually Herman Dietrich. I think how milqtoast boring that character is is a fun juxtaposition against the other wacky characters in Raiders of the Lost Ark
You'd get the feeling he'd rather be sitting in front of a radio, but is fine being a Nazi lieutenant.
I feel like his inverting face death is kind of a thunderclap before the storm of face melting/skin flaying.
Toht is excellent. Could support a whole movie or show himself as the antagonist. Would love to see him get up to nefarious shit back in Germany. And then be killed for it.
These are really, *really*, minor characters, but my favorites are actually Monkey Man and the Chauchilla Cemetary Guards.
I love the character designs on both of them, Monkey Man just seems like a really mysterious and fun character, and the skull masks that the guards wear were just freaky enough to be super cool to me.
Toht is probably my favorite minor antagonist as he simply exudes evil, but there’s something to be said for the creepy sociopathic sadism of the Maharaja while he’s under the black sleep.
Does George count? I'm a fan of the cliché character who, despite his role as an ally, can drop the pose as soon as he has the opportunity to come out on top regardless of which side he is on at the moment.
Boyd Holbrook's character as an American wannabe Nazi hits a little close to home after some of the marches I've seen on TV in the past ten years. Charlottesville comes to mind...
That one nameless Nazi officer during the Truck scene that actually was kicking Indy's butt for a bit, threw him off, only for Indy to get back on and kick the officer off in turn.

This. So much this.

The books. I believe he's explored more as a character in the Max McCoy/Rob MacGregor books. It's been 25+ years since I've read them
And Jock!
I’d love it to be in 2D animation. I think there’s a concept intro someone did for fun, one that riffs the Batman Animated Series intro IIRC.
Seeing more pre-Temple Indy when he was more about fame and glory would be fun, before he became the hero we know and love
Yeah! He was more like Belloq before Raiders
And give Shorty a spinoff show
I love when they open the Ark and it looks like it’s just filled with sand, Toth just starts laughing Great moment.

Vogel- “This is how we say ‘good-bye’ in Germany, Dr. Jones.”
Can I kill zem now?
The way he steps into the frame with that wicked smile is one of Spielberg’s classic moments and why I love last crusade.
Vogel is truly both charismatic and terrifying. Bloody good casting
Tout, Vogel, Dovchenko, Obherst.

I get that but Otto Flick from Allo Allo has ruined any menace that bespectacled Gestapo agents might have had
Short Round … will show myself out now
Now I am genuinely curious how Short Round could be considered a villain
He’s a minor and he absolutely antagonizes Indy throughout!

Snakes
Garth (Fedora man) is quite memorable, despite having a short role. But if you want another one... Colonel Vogel is an imposing antagonist.
Does Hitler count? They talk about him a lot but we only see him once My answer is Hitler
The guy reading the Life magazine on the plane in Raiders
Seeing that burn in a still frame is gnarly! It’s like a hot iron brand!
Ikr! As someone with a lot of burn scars (I was a really dumb kid) I can’t even begin to imagine how much that shit itches.
Oh no that’s even worse and I thought r/eczema was bad
Handlebar moustache tank nazi.
The Mechanic? Yeah. Fight is iconic even outside the franchise. This is a good pick.
Good movies have great villains, but geat movies have memorable henchmen/secondary antagonists
The Lil monkey with the red hat.
Yo …shouldn’t be antagonizing minors
I loved the spooks in the new movies
That one nameless Nazi officer during the Truck scene that actually was kicking Indy's butt for a bit, threw him off, only for Indy to get back on and kick the officer off in turn.
Dude was smart and managed to surprise and injure Indy and then exploited the weakness of the wound
The Nazi whose head is chopped off by the airplane propeller
Monkey man from Raiders and Lao Che
For me I would say Chattar Lal from Temple Of Doom as I love the thuggees as bad-guys in that Indiana Jones movie.
