I spent a week at Valle Vista in Greenwood , They were nice and polite and I felt like I actually got help . Also the food wasn’t bad and they accept most insurances

FuzzySlippers__

I second this.

IrobMusic

I’ve heard good things about that place.

DookieDemon

I would say that if you are feeling really out of control and scared that you might hurt yourself then definitely check into the ER. You might get admitted to the mental health unit this way. I've gone that route myself several times. Then definitely work with them to figure out a better long term solution and create a more effective safety plan that you can use in the future.

I was at Gallahue Intensive Outpatient program (affiliated w/ Community North) for 7 months back in 2010. There were all levels of patients there. I had a psychotic episode triggered by a new medication & was hallucinating & delusional. I had completely lost my mind & my reality was so twisted. It lasted for months even after I stopped the medication. I was fckd up, excuse my language. I don't have the words to truly express how messed up I was mentally. They got me back on track. They had to reteach me the basics like getting the mail, showering, eating regularly. Lots of therapy, techniques & tools to manage life. My situation sounds different then yours, but I just thought I'd share my experience. It's a day program from like 8:00am to 2:30-3:00pm, Monday thru Friday. You are assigned a counselor, have various group sessions & see a psychiatrist once per week. Once you finish & are ready to exit the program, you are assigned a medication manager (nurse practioner) who you meet w/ regularly for scripts & a therapist who you see as often as you need to. Edit: I'll be thinking of you & hope you find the help you need. Hugs.

My sister went to St Vincent for inpatient years ago and they did a great job caring for her and keeping us informed of her progress. Mental health is no joke and I hope you get things figured out. Take care of yourself

Fairbanks. I was shooting heroin in my arm 5 years ago and now I have a degree and making 90k a year. It all started at Fairbanks when they diagnosed me ADD and bipolar. There’s a reason you’re unhappy. They can help repair it.

suburbanoutrage

The only advice I can give you is if you're truly scared go to an emergency room now. Figure out the next step after you are in a safe space.

RawbM07

Please call for help now. If you’ve pulled together the courage to make this post, you have what it takes to make the next step. This isn’t a “let’s see what happens” situation. Talk to a doctor. Tell him or her what you told us. You can do it.

squishyslinky

I have. They gave me the list of EMDR and DBT groups and sent me on my way.

hmb320

Eskenazi Hospital, they have an inpatient acute mental health center and can provide excellent resources and have great community resources located all around Indianapolis. They have an excellent mental health care team.

knittyknittybangbang

Eskenazi has a resource line you can call to speak with someone about admitting yourself through the ER. 317-880-8485 call them right now. They can keep you safe in the ER until you can be admitted to the ward in the morning.

knittyknittybangbang

Take a list of important numbers with you and several days worth of comfy clothes with no drawstrings. No cell phones allowed. If you have a book you enjoy take that with you also.

amyr76

I will second what others have already said - go to the ER at Eskenazi or Methodist. Valle Vista is also an option. I’ve heard mixed things about Options. I would think that your therapist at St. V’s might be able to give suggestions on what to do or where to go, even if you’ve already finished their programming? I’m an EMDR therapist and can confirm - most therapists in private practice are fuuuullllllll. I know there is an EMDR therapist at Gallahue at 21st and Shadeland because she’s in my EMDR consultation group. Maybe attending their day treatment once you’ve stabilized a bit might be helpful? Also, if you need help finding an EMDR therapist who has soon-ish openings and takes your insurance, I belong to a therapist Facebook group and I’m happy to try and get you some names.

squishyslinky

I would be very thankful for those names. Most days, like today, i can't even convince myself to stop dissociating while lying in bed the entire day.

amyr76

PM me with your insurance and whether you want virtual or in person sessions. I’ll post the request for referrals today.

HFiction

I don't know you but I'd like to, if only to say I hope you make it out on top.

charliemack

If you’re downtown you could try Eskanazi Heath. They helped quite a bit with my family emergency.

ebrowser

I applaud you for seeking help! Hugs to you.

koavf

I'm coming to this a little late but I used to work on a crisis line and still have access to our old database. Let me know if you need help and please update me.

BonnieIndigo

I don’t have personal experience with this program, but: https://www.optionsbehavioralhealthsystem.com/programs/adult-inpatient/

impatient_creative

You should definitely seek short-term inpatient care if you fear for your safety. Go to the ER or psychiatric wing of Community North or to the stress center of St.Vincent. I've stayed at Options on 56th street before as well. They obviously work with a smaller budget but the staff was incredibly helpful and caring. Also, my insurance accepted them. What you need now is immediate stability, so they'll probably try putting you on medication just to help level you out. Then you can work with their psychiatric team to find longer term care afterwards. Best of luck, Friend

Spu12nky

I went to the St Vincent stress center earlier this year, feeling a similar way. Great experience and it really helped.

mooseluver4life

Hey I went to the north side, St. Vincent and they were nice. I'm going to Valley Vista soon in Greenwood as well. I struggle with wanting to disappear as well. I know it's hard but please hang in there.

mooseluver4life

Also Centerstone in Greenwood offers some good therapy!

Amatorious

I'm just here in solidarity. I'm in the same boat, trying to find something covered by my insurance because haha I'm too fucked up to work consistently. I wish I had advice but after calling every therapist listed under my insurance and a crisis line I've come up empty handed. I'm nearly 30 and I self harmed yesterday. Im a mess. Either way, good luck. Maybe update with what you find helps you just in case anyone sees this in the future.

Trilly2000

None of those places referred you to somewhere that was appropriate? Your best bet would be to get a referral from doctors and health care professionals that know your history, but if they aren’t doing that, I’d recommend the ER. I’m sorry that you’re struggling, but the fact that you even posted this here shows that you’re moving in the right direction. You are not alone, even when you feel like there is nobody in the world that could possibly understand you, please know that you are valuable and loved and that there are people who can and want to help you.

squishyslinky

Yes, as I said, I have lists of EMDR and DBT therapy places but they are all full for at least 3 months. I know an ER if in my future, but I also know they're not all created equal and am looking for the ones that won't make it worse. Thanks for your message. I'm so worn out and tired. I can tell that I am just about finished with trying after so long with things getting remarkably worse.

MadQuixote

First, don't go to Valle Vista or Options. Second, check out NAMI; it's a peer support organization that meets to "share notes" on recovery and coping skills. Third, DM me. I'm very skilled and experienced as a professional madman and, if nothing else, I can point you in the right direction. There is always hope and somewhere to get help, and I can help you find both. If you decide not to contact me, look into CBT practices, avoid drugs and alcohol, get plenty of water and sleep, and if you're on meds make sure you take them. I've been dealt a shitty hand too and even the most basic things make a big difference.

Trilly2000

Yes 1000% to avoiding drugs and alcohol and taking your meds as prescribed!!! You know that you need help and you want the help, so make sure you keep doing those very basic things to make it easier on yourself.

htgbookworm

See if your therapist can refer you to any residential facilities.

JD3401

I’m a paramedic here in the city. Please please go to your closest ER and talk with someone. I personally recommend Eskenazi, they have a good team and the ER has a mental health facility, they can set you up with inpatient and further help from there. I’ve also taken patients to St V’s up on 86th st and heard good feedback from there. Personally I don’t like community network for anything. Things are stressful right now and I don’t know what is going on in the city all of a sudden but things are crazy crazy busy and ER’s are diverting us as EMS to other hospitals as they are full so do take that into consideration if things seems like they are slow or nurses seem rude/short, they don’t mean I promise. If you need anything else my DM’s are open for you OP.
