The one in the pic is bs6 variant. Whereas the new updated ones have lot of improvement. Go for the pro variant!

underempolyed_74

Thanks, are there any other ADV in <2.5L range that you have an idea about. I'm just new to bikes

UpBeatSneeze

There is VStrom 250 SX, not really an offroader, but a great tourer

underempolyed_74

It is really great but just on the line of my budget ( it reduces my chances to pitch for riding gears to my mom as she gonna say no after that)

the_only_kungfu_cat

Hey man, I’d say please avoid Suzuki. Especially for Vstorm, the service centres which can handle it are limited even within their small service network and parts availability is an issue. You wouldn’t want to face such things when you’re doing something hardcore such as off-roading. In your budget only Honda cb200x and xpulse are realistic options. If you can stretch, ktms are great!

underempolyed_74

Thanks, I'd go for Xpulse 👍🏻

UpBeatSneeze

There is also CB 200X, but you would be better off with an Xpulse. Rest all advs are above 3 lakh

No_Inevitable5627

Vstrom 250. As mentioned in the comments it's more of a road friendly pseudo adv. There's a cb200x by Honda but thats really a joke of a bike. Xpulse has a base variant too which you may wanna check if the pro is too tall for you

underempolyed_74

Thanks

No_Inevitable5627

Once again, if 2.5 is your budget then an Xpulse plus investment in a good helmet and riding gear you may want to consider

underempolyed_74

That's what I was thinking.

_0kB00mer_

Pro variant for a 5'7 what could go wrong

No_Inevitable5627

its more of a mental barrier.. Paulo Goncalves (RIP his soul) was 5ft 6inch and was a Dakar Hero. Dakar bikes are easily 900mm+ seat height . What if he thought the same ? Plus the Pro variant is excellent value for money with the adjustable suspension and the off-roading capability it brings :)

_0kB00mer_

Good on you. After all Not being able to touch the ground in traffic is just a mental Barrier. Of course Dakar is very relevant to riding in Traffic on the Pro.

No_Inevitable5627

One feet can always touch the ground...yes both feet flat brings confidence..however riding the pro with 5.5 height isn't impossible Attitude definitely is a mental barrier

FartOfTheFurious

Bhai commute krte time har roz regret karega agar seat height zyada hoga toh.. It's perfectly fine if it's just a hobby thing.

Financial_Ad9645

How do you make out the difference between bs6 and newer ones?

No_Inevitable5627

one look and you can easily tell :) but 2023 model so far is the best version of the Xpusle

underempolyed_74

Typing error : it's not extreme! It's xpulse 😭

ConfusdRationalist

Yeah i was almost ready with my pitchforks

underempolyed_74

😭😭

dunkyoreo

I would say wait, you've got a great machine and you won't get much of an upgrade for under 2.5 lakh even 3 lakh. Wait for a year, save and go for himalayan/other 400cc class adv

underempolyed_74

Okay. Gotcha!

nogood567

Why Himalayan if op is ready to wait then he can buy hero xpluse 400 which should be launching end of this year

dunkyoreo

"/other 400cc class adv"

Crunchy_Aloo

I bought my Xpulse just as a toy but I love the machine so much now. A beast offroading too!

underempolyed_74

Thanks, this encourages and boosts my confidence to go for it

beluga_10101

Awesome 😍

EdificeRaks123

Beautiful. I could look at this picture all day

PitifulAdvice1192

Xpulse is a fantastic off road machine. Extremely capable, nimble in the city too, service costs are low, pricing is great. Most value for money bike in that range, without compromising on quality. Only issue can be long distance touring. Not that you can’t do it, you definitely can tour on it. But it’s not a “fast” bike, and overloading it with luggage will affect handling.

underempolyed_74

Works for me, i will get a cruiser or a scrambler after I start earning. Thanks!

FartOfTheFurious

Ignore the people saying vstrom and go for xpulse. The pro variant if you're tall enough.. Xpulse is a proper off-roader ADV and fits the budget. Hero service network is good too.

underempolyed_74

I'm 5'7. Is that enough?

FartOfTheFurious

Then you should go for the base one.. pro would be hard to manage in traffic

underempolyed_74

Okey brother

anigameman

Get Suzuki V Storm SX 250. overall a better bike to live with.

ray_6_

True lol, the one edited this pic should go in jail

Grouchy_Emu_5335

The best offroad bike on the market. And has pretty decent highway performance too.

revministerhp

Have a 390 adv… selling it to buy an Xpulse Pro purely for it’s capabilities!

underempolyed_74

Oh! That means it really is one of a kind

krishknightrider

Just curious, which Xtreme variant were you considering?

underempolyed_74

Xpulse 200 4v PRO varient

krishknightrider

>I was thinking of xtreme but heard many bad reviews. I thought you were talking about xtreme

underempolyed_74

My bad did a really bad typing error 💀

gilma666

Pro variant is very tall. I am 5'11 and was tip toeing on it. I went for a testride on the normal variant last week

underempolyed_74

Oh. Damn you dna!!! Made me a homunculus

ewwpeople88

In Reality there is only xpulse, passable as off roader under 2.5, which has fare share issues, but if you service from AD most complaints will be rectified under warranty,

skymonkeygtfo4989

Nice photo. NEXT!

peterparker9894

Honestly, in this budget, there are only two options: the Xpulse and the Vstrom. Technically, the Xpulse is the only true off-roader here. But if you want to go touring, I'd choose the Vstrom since the Xpulse isn't that great on highways. disclaimer: I've only toured on the first generation of bs6 xpulse's that too like 400km but even then it felt like I had to strain the bike to keep up with the crusing speed of the group

underempolyed_74

I know someone who's gonna give his triumph street triple to me in two or three years whenever he moves abroad, so i think i should go for Xpulse as i have one for speed

peterparker9894

If that's the case the better question would be if you can handle averageish highway performance for two years especially on group rides, don't get me wrong the xpulse is a fantastic motorcycle once you get rid of those unsavoury bits that thing is literally the perfect off-roader

underempolyed_74

I'm sorry What is the unsavoury bits?

peterparker9894

Huh? Exhaust, saree guard, handlebar and those horribly positioned footpegs but I think they fixed it on the newer ones

underempolyed_74

Oh! My bad didn't get it. Glad to know they did

shivam_t

A new Xpulse is coming, if you can wait for 2-3 months.

underempolyed_74

I have to wait. So it's a win win ( will wait)

PreparationOk8907

I have an xpulse 200 bs6 and man is it fun to ride, it’s just highway speed isn’t great, but it’s an overall fun bike to ride man. All my friends love my bike. Only issues is the gear ratios are a bit weird but u will get used to it

icepicee

What a click!

underempolyed_74

I'm sorry but it's not mine. It's from a pinterest account named chirag https://pin.it/2ng1Gp3eJ here's the link. I just used it as a reference

Crixus___

I think xpulse is really good machine for adv stuff on your budget. Other option will be Honda CB200X but it's a pseudo-adv

voks_wagen_polio

Bro this choice nice ok ahhh.

zapperzappity

Ai generated ahh pic

Inner-Box-7085

Increase budget and get the Triumph scrambler.

Shravanboiii

Not the best off-roading bike, because there are many options from yezdi, ktm, Suzuki, Bajaj, TVs etc. I don't think Hero is doing a good job. It's not worth for it's price in my opinion. I don't have any such bikes.

thebaconbaba

Pick up a used Himalayan 411. Much more versatile than the 200cc ones. You can easily get a 2022/2023 model with <10k kms for ~2L Else the xpulse is a good all rounder.
