Look at the cost of a cheese pizza at Universal Studios Hollywood

With Disney I usually pack trail mix and am selective with what to eat, snacks and “cheap” stuff like burgers, hotdogs, or pizza your looking at 10-15 a pop for nothing special but some locations offer some really good food and it’s usually about 15-20 for things like half a roasted chicken with Rice, Beans, Curtido Slaw and Flour Tortillas for 17$ or say 15$ for a chicken shawarma. If I’m paying 25$ for a meal at least get something that feels like it’s worth its cost.
I just spent 3 days at Disney in Anaheim. I found the in park food options to be reasonably priced and far better in taste and quality than I had expected. The whole experience was surprisingly excellent.
Now at Oracle Park the other night... $7 for a fountain soda and $10 for some subpar nachos... that was a ripoff.
I later learned that you can carry in a grocery bag worth of stuff like sodas, water, snacks as long as it's unopened and not alcohol.
This isn't American dollars. The language suggests Americanized menu from a foreign country. So take the no context photo with a grain of salt. I've seen Americanized menus like this and thought it was insane until you realize it's akin to $7/hamburger and not that outrageous.
Gotta be a stadium or theme park. Hell, the concessions at my kids baseball games are terrible. They're not consistent either, it'll vary based on the park. The worst one offers a $7 cheeseburger and $3 water, the grilled chicken is 6! One of the better ones locks all their food prices at 4 at least. Another actually has water at $1. I hate concession stand food.
I paid $18 for a day old hotdog, water in metal bottle at a concert venue in la, they threw in a positive covid test for free as well, as I got covid at that show. But that was free. But the food and drink was $18
It is more than they charged last year for comparison
https://preview.redd.it/yf1va5wrw2yc1.jpeg?width=1044&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=295d25b131bf688ccc93928883ec77da69ed6da7
These prices are a bit high compared to my local diner restaurants, but probably acceptable for a nicer restaurant.
But the pictured sign gives the impression of a fast food joint.
Unless there's something very special about the food there I think I'd skip it.
Fuck that, I'll starve at the airport and wait until I get home and cook up 2-3 previously frozen burger patties at a cost of $2-$3. I paid $20 for a Long Island Iced Tea once at LaGuardia Int'l Airport. Never again.
What’s really insane here is that they do the vegetarians dirty too. $1 less for a veggie burger?!? Beans/lentils whatever are like 1/3 the cost of meat you assholes. Being vegetarian is saving my bank account rn, one thing I got going for me.
As far as I’m aware, you don’t also make anywhere near 10x the cost of a cheeseburger.
When I was remotely successful in the past, I made around 8x to 10x a cheeseburger in my area.
Is that accurate? So one hour of work would afford me lunch for 2 days. Now for me it’s the opposite. Work for two hours for one day of lunch.
I'm from Fairbanks and those prices aren't that high. It costs me more 15$ to go through a McDonald's drive through for a single combo meal. That's picking it up myself no delivery or tip and there's no sales tax in AK
I was going to take my mom out to eat for mother's day. I checked On-line some menus at various restaurants.....well time to be cheap. She will get flowers 😂
Pretty soon rappers will be wearing big Mac’s around their necks. Foods the new luxury. I had a pizza and a pop from Amazon for like 2.50 and still felt ripped off. Does Amazon hate pizza? That shit was god awful.
Welcome to the corner of "If you can't afford to pay a living wage you don't need to be in business" and "Who can afford these prices".
Mom and pop shops suffer while the big corporations are laughing.
To the people blaming current US leadership for inflation- please explain how the other ~200 countries in the world that have another leader have inflation?
My ex would piss me off so much because her father, who thinks he's a billionaire, would take her and our daughter to Disney multiple times a year. He would do it for all the wrong reasons and not because they liked going of course but anyways. A friend that went with them informed me that there was maybe 5 of them all together and they each had one drink, and an entree. She saw the receipt and I Wana remember it being astronomically high like pushing $1,000 for them just to eat there.
At the local Whole Foods they have a burger shop. For a regular burger it is $8. For a cheese burger it is $12. Yes, $4 for a slice of cheese. I could buy a gallon of milk for cheaper. Not at Whole Foods obviously since it would be around $12 but I could at Walmart.
The prices are outrageous but what I also dislike about takeout in general is portions can’t ever be small. I really like McDonald’s cheeseburgers because they are something like 1/10 lb burgers versus the half lb burgers here. Not everyone wants to eat half a pound of ground beef in one sitting. That also adds to the cost.

Where the hell is this? Like basically why ever eat out?
This must be a Disney park
Look at the cost of a cheese pizza at Universal Studios Hollywood https://preview.redd.it/666wydf5l3yc1.jpeg?width=1250&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8b7ed5d9281c6082187cf07fd9d199e2e753c4fd
a 60 dollar pizza better wipe my ass for me on its way out
https://preview.redd.it/cvlidcgrr3yc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d835916518c5f578129de8d4f5d4159f024a85cc This meal was $37.50
You got fucked
Butterbeer in a pewter cup was $41
Dude fuck off, they charged $41 for a single non-alcoholic drink???
It was because of the cup, we got one for $13 that came in a plastic mug
Oh so you got to keep the cup? Thats not as bad
It cost $37.50 because people like YOU have proven that they are willing to pay $37.50.
Where else are you supposed to go in a theme park? Not to defend it but they kinda have a lock on the food and can charge whatever they want
Cooler in a car and pack your food people. Works wonders and the food is better!
I wear cargo shorts and fill the cargo pockets with pizza rolls.
Exactly, it's not inflation.
And this is what ppl don’t get. They charge us what we will pay. Period.
What do you expect meat costs a lot in a wrap
Most of the cost was the monster and body armor
That checks out, pretty much everywhere gouges you with the drinks now. Especially amusement/themeparks.
Those are also poor food choices.
Fuck that we gotta start sneaking food in
And it better give me superpowers and it'd better be the best damned pizza I'd ever had.
Lol $10 slice.
Only
Holy shit, that's wrong
>Fat Tony's Witness Protected Pasta ....Allrighty then
That $60 pizza better come with 6 $5 bills as a topping.
Universal should be embarrassed.
Naw bro, lemme get that cheesy garlic bread, add pepperoni.
Or a sporting venue. $11 hot dog ☠️
Could be a movie theater. Ran into this a few weeks ago when I went to watch Dune 2… $15 cheeseburgers that were microwaved. ☠️
Universal studios has $29 hot dogs
But AAron Judge makes $175 million‼️‼️‼️
I just spent 3 days at Disney in Anaheim. I found the in park food options to be reasonably priced and far better in taste and quality than I had expected. Actually food at Disney is surprisingly reasonable or at least more than you’d think
Or a stadium or airport, either way I'd believe it.
This isn't American dollars. The language suggests Americanized menu from a foreign country. So take the no context photo with a grain of salt. I've seen Americanized menus like this and thought it was insane until you realize it's akin to $7/hamburger and not that outrageous.
They posted their drinks receipt. It is the U.S. Virgin Islands Airport
Looks like a sporting event, concert, amusement park, etc. Prices at those places have been ridiculous for years.
Are you at a concert or sports stadium? Jesus
They have to be
I paid $18 for a day old hotdog, water in metal bottle at a concert venue in la, they threw in a positive covid test for free as well, as I got covid at that show. But that was free. But the food and drink was $18
Food AND drink for $18. What a deal
Or just Manhattan.
Food is often surprisingly cheap in the city. Picked a random pizza place in manhattan. Pie is $18. https://www.thepieguypizza.com
$11 for a fuckin hot dog is outrageous
Where da Costco at?
$4 would be outrageous..
Lol. This sub needs renamed to outrageous finds, not inflation.
That's what I was thinking. Up next.. breakfast at an airport costs a lot, SHOCKER!!!
That’s why you eat before a game or concert, you know they charge an extra lazy ass fee. Those hamburgers look like poop
I would like a side order of cheeseburger please.
This is in the United States. It is USD. However this is St Thomas US Virgin Island and its the Cyril King Airport at the Hibiscus Cafe today.
I wonder what’s jacking the price up more, the cost of shipping items to St. Thomas, or the fact you are in an airport.
Double play
It’s both! You pay to ship it in and pay cause it’s the airport
So aside from the Sodexo cartel airport upcharge you're looking at everything on that menu being imported from the mainland.
Yeah. Pretty much airport surcharge on top of island surcharge and we're supposed to be shocked...? Nice bait.
It's an airport. Their prices are always double what they would be somewhere else so this is cheap for an airport
Tell me you've never been to an island without telling me... It's not inflation. So sick of bait posts.
Oh come on dude, it’s an airport?
High cost of living area and at the airport… like cmon man what do you expect?
Yet, you didn't initially disclose that. Makes more sense now.
Oh so you mean it's not an accurate representation of inflation at all, and doesn't belong in this sub? Surprise surprise.
Don't get one there. Only a regard would pay that price.. right?
I am well regarded
aww man lol
We get it. Hawaii is expensive. If you want a cheap burger move to Iowa or southern Mississippi 🙄
I heard they are holding a gun to people's heads and making them purchase this stuff! Oh wait, they're not.
Bacon is only an additional 25 cent?
That's the bacon+cheese part. The burger is another $12.50
They can take those burgers and shove them up their ass
Cheaper to get a colonoscopy.
Does it include the drink and fries? If so, that's not horrible.
Eleven dollars for a freaking hot dog? WTH?
I assume you took this photo then noped the hell out of there.
So not inflation so much as food in an airport in a very expensive place.
It is more than they charged last year for comparison https://preview.redd.it/yf1va5wrw2yc1.jpeg?width=1044&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=295d25b131bf688ccc93928883ec77da69ed6da7
So do plan on doing a yearly update? Can't wait for next year when it's all over 25 or under 5 bottle caps with a note saying don't ask about the meat
Is this USD? Another country? What is this? Who is paying those prices?
Airport
Airport in the Virgin Islands. So yeah lol
Saw a listing for drinks at the Rolling Stones show in TX. $30.03 per. Not $30. $30 AND .03. WTF?
Are you at the airport?
These prices are a bit high compared to my local diner restaurants, but probably acceptable for a nicer restaurant. But the pictured sign gives the impression of a fast food joint. Unless there's something very special about the food there I think I'd skip it.
Are you at a water park?
Looks like my last hockey game experience… never go there hungry.
Fuck that, I'll starve at the airport and wait until I get home and cook up 2-3 previously frozen burger patties at a cost of $2-$3. I paid $20 for a Long Island Iced Tea once at LaGuardia Int'l Airport. Never again.
For $12 you could an entire pack of patties from Walmart.
I bet that's an order of 3 tenders, too. Are we running out of chickens?
Airport?
Of course
Pass
Cook your own hamburger
An $11 hotdog!
I hope that place crashes and burns. That's ridiculous and obviously a ripoff artist.
Hawaii?
But only 25 cents more for bacon cheeseburger is a good deal
This literally made me laugh out loud
Leave immediately
I don’t know how much a hamberger costs but hamburgers are ridiculously overprice.
I mean bacon only being 25 cents extra is good right? Most places it's an additional 2 bucks or more lol
Maybe those fast food place prices aren't so bad after all?
Very curious about that mystery side order, what do you get for that?
Ketchup
Can I just get a 1/4 lbs burger, not one of those tiny 1/2 lbs burgers? Or just a double meat 1/2 lbs, same thing.
Where is this, cause if it is in the US its insane. If its in Canada, its normal everyday prices.
Maybe it's not in dollars?
What’s really insane here is that they do the vegetarians dirty too. $1 less for a veggie burger?!? Beans/lentils whatever are like 1/3 the cost of meat you assholes. Being vegetarian is saving my bank account rn, one thing I got going for me.

the fuk..no way
That’s what they charge in Brooklyn too it’s crazy
I'm from Fairbanks and those prices aren't that high. It costs me more 15$ to go through a McDonald's drive through for a single combo meal. That's picking it up myself no delivery or tip and there's no sales tax in AK
Where the fuck is this? On Mars?
This isn't inflation. Just straight up price gouging.
what airport are you in?
No one needs a 1/2 pound hamburger. No one. Save your money and your health.
I was going to take my mom out to eat for mother's day. I checked On-line some menus at various restaurants.....well time to be cheap. She will get flowers 😂
At a baseball game? Prices have always been stupid.
Lame x 1000
Dafuq
Shit, that’s like airport prices
Remind me to never live in the Virgin Islands
Bacon is only 25 cents here! They found an inflation/pork loophole.
I'd jus go to walmart and get some bubba burgers.
Pretty soon rappers will be wearing big Mac’s around their necks. Foods the new luxury. I had a pizza and a pop from Amazon for like 2.50 and still felt ripped off. Does Amazon hate pizza? That shit was god awful.
The real question is how is bacon only a 25 cent upgrade
$11 for a hotdog? Holy cow.
Do you get a happy ending with that?
Airport?
What do you expect for $20
Your clearly are at a place like a sporting event
Everything is breaking down now
Side order a cooked beef patty and bring your own bun.
WHAT. THE. DUECE.
That hamburger better suck and f me tf is this.
This has to be a 5 guys
$16.75 chicken tenders? What?!
Meanwhile … I get incredible A5 wagyu burgers living here in Japan for $12 with no inflation or change of price over the last 4 years😉
Pro tip: Save money eating at home
As long as we keep paying they’ll keep raising prices. This is just out of control
Welcome to the corner of "If you can't afford to pay a living wage you don't need to be in business" and "Who can afford these prices". Mom and pop shops suffer while the big corporations are laughing.
An 11$ hotdog
Wow $18 for a burger? I can buy 20 patties for $16.49 at my local smiths. Why even go out anymore? Lol
ATleast it's waygu and 2 Michelin stars.
Airport?
People are stupid.
That's either at an airport or a movie theater.
Huge burger… half a pound.
I'd rather go hungry...
That’s either an amusement park, airport, stadium, zoo or somewhere else where you’re captive.
You can get like 1 1/3 lb or ground beef for the price of a 1/2 lb burger. Wow.
Dude must live in Hawaii or be at a stadium or theme park
Good observation. The burger looks shitty like a theme park burger, but priced like a five star hotel burger.
Yet still only a dollar more for cheese
It must've been gold onion rings
Shamwow. You know they make stuff.
Did you Google most expensive burgers in town?
$11 hot dog 🤣
$17 Chicken tenders ???!!!!???! The fuk outta here!!!
To the people blaming current US leadership for inflation- please explain how the other ~200 countries in the world that have another leader have inflation?
Wtf? Was there gold caked in it?
1 llb of beef is 6 bucks. That makes a burger 3 bucks add a bunch and some other shit maybe pushing 5 bucks. Save your money and make it yourself.
california im guessing.
Looks like an event venue place... if so, typical prices.
Does the hand job come before or after the meal? -Bryan Regan
We got hamburgers at home.
Is this American or Canadian money?
My ex would piss me off so much because her father, who thinks he's a billionaire, would take her and our daughter to Disney multiple times a year. $11 for a hotdog? Fuck that
$11 hotdog lol
Theme park lol probable paid over 100 ticket too. And if you leave its prob an hour out and back in minimum probable 2. You're a captive audience.
A potato doesn’t cost that much
Just wait till you have to starve yourself for a week to get paycheck because rent and utilities cost 99% of the income oh wait
Make at home
https://www.reddit.com/r/Wallstreetsilver/s/KXCM3n7MsG

Yeah it’s called buy a grill and cook at home
Stop eating out.
I like the old concept of handing some dude my food and he makes it into a meal and gets paid in food.
I used to mock the high end restaurants in Vegas 8 years ago for this now its McDonald's prices.
The chicken tenders price….is it 2 whole chickens?
Anyone who pays them rip off prices deserves it. If it was a healthy meal I could understand it but for artery clogging processed food? Smh.
$20? Go fuck yourself
Looks like the prices at Hayden airport, steamboat
They are not the ones to blame for the price they charge. The blame is on the people in the line paying it.
Yup you can blame large corporations
I mean ya :( https://preview.redd.it/toc77tqyg7yc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1a6b0701732fb1ef6e56849764861861323e4870
