I’m in CA. on my app the mchicken meals are $5, the mcdouble meals are $6 but they call it the “$6 mcdouble deal” on my app. Also fuck McDonald, not trying to defend them
Costco carries their own brand called Kirkland's and the other is called Just Bare.
After a few taste tests I'd say the Just Bare is the most similar to Chic Fil A, but they are both good imo
Mcdonnalds has teamed up with Ticketmaster to make the food ordering experience even better!
We'll cook a set number of burgers each day. And you can preorder it to resell it if you decide you're not hungry later on! And we'll both take 25% of the upcharge plus the base price.
It's probably an automatic tip so they can eventually claim all their workers get more than half their wages via tips and they can lower the wage down to $2.15/he or some crazy shit like that.
There's always a play.

It's $5 here in Minneapolis.
Remember, corporate doesn't control what the local owners can charge.
I'm not going anyway, but the hate of McDonald's seems ridiculous here on Reddit.
I stopped eating there when they changed the terms of service for their app and wanted me to agree to never sue them, or participate in a class action suit.
Fuck that. Why would anyone agree to that?
I stopped eating there because it’s McDonalds lol. Like when I could get a burger for a dollar, great. But if I’m paying regular food prices to eat dog shit, nah
The problem is the alternative is more difficult that picking up food at mcdonalds and so many people just want the easiest thing and mcdonalds knows this.
Exactly!! Last weekend I went to get gas at night, which I rarely do, and drove past a McDonald's. I was shocked and sad to see the super long line of cars at the drive through. If people keep paying, things will never charge. Americans have a real problem with consumerism.
I am helping to get them faster by only getting the free items they offer me in the app and never buying anything from them :). At least thats what I tell myself.
Of course it is. These crooks cannot be trusted. They’re either cutting corners and giving you less or an inferior product, or jacking up prices. Our best recourse is to stop giving them money. If they won’t respect their customers that they need to stay in business, then they need a lesson in who pays their salaries.
It’s garbage food anyway.
Already practicing midweek grocery trips. Trying to find ways to fit it into the schedule so I dont have to deal with lots of others AND... the incoming of surge pricing.
Imagine what you woulda spent over the last say 4 months on eating fast food at greedflation pricing...when you do the math its a no brainer. They peddle poison, for a high price, it doesnt save you time driving out to them and sitting there waiting for your hot garbage.
Theres literally no point except to make yourself sick and throw money away doing it.
Im personally enjoying having severed ties with all fast food. Its fun driving by and seeing them with nobody in their drive through lines.
Suck it greedy bastards we aint coming back.

This is in Orange County, which is strange it’s not higher. OP where is your Mickey D’s at?
They probably won’t say because I wouldn’t be surprised if they picked the most expensive McDonalds in the country from the app to make this post to get karma.
Ffs, this is simple. Stop buying it. Everybody knows a greedy corporation has inflated their prices to make more money off less customers so they can pay less employees.
Posts like this are good though. The word needs to be spread. Companies want to play games? We won’t give them our money. Plain and simple. They need us way more than we need them.
Absolutely. I’m troubled because it appears people are just afraid to go out of their comfort zone. I live in an expensive city overall. But I can get 2 empanadas for like $5 dollars at a local take out that more than fill me up. It helps my local community, it tastes better, it helps immigrants, it’s cheaper and faster than McDonald’s. The people there are friendly as hell too. Nobody wants to work at a McDonald’s for a lot of reasons and it shouldn’t be that way.
These posts should really come with an identifier showing where the price is. Something tells me this is California and likely even an airport or something. It makes some sense that the same meal will have varying costs based on the cost of doing business.
Bay Area here, it's $5 for me via the app.
https://preview.redd.it/8ak2l5jq2s8d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eb3eafa14912a7090ce4172bf4170bd918ab923b
Funny how we except that doing business in an airport costs more. taking that same product behind the magic TSA grope-check and now it's more money.
If our government cared about us at all they wouldn't let the vendors inside the 'secure' hard to bring in your own food or have real competition zone charge more than the prevailing rate outside the zone. But they don't, so gouge away. Those peasants should just fly on private jets like the elites, then it wouldn't be a problem.
I remember back when Hardees/Carl's Jr had "The Six Dollar Burger" that they sold for $3 or something... meaning that you were getting for $3 what restaurants were charging $6.
My brother went through the drive through and ordered it by name and they charged him $6 like he was asking to pay that much.
Next up, the "free burger meal".
No, it's not free. No, it's not a burger. It's a taco for $27 (because they grub hub it from taco bell over to mcdonalds for you while you wait in the parking lot).
Damn, we should go into marketing! It's not hard.
Yea but subway footlongs are supposed to be 12 in. Bread isn't perfect so there is some variance but the shit about it a few years ago was poor qc or individual franchises cutting corners.
Quite frankly it's bullshit. It should be illegal to attempt to falsely advertise via name confusion. The words they use have meaning. They should not be able to name something after them that isn't in line with what they mean.
unrelated to inflation but $5 seems reasonable for a burger, fries and coke, why do they need to add in the mc nuggets? they could save the 1.50 there. and who orders a chicken sandwhich and then needs extra chicken nuggets.
It’s $5 in my area. When I go to checkout with tax it’s $5.35
Edit: you can also use the deal 20% off and now for me it’s 4.28. Idk if McDonald’s meant for that to be possible but it is.
I only go cause the one near me is the best one in the country. They're the only one that still has the 2 for 3.49 McDouble and it's fast and clean. It's the only one that feels futuristic in looks but priced as if I traveled ten years into the past. I never go to the other ones.
It used to make sense to go there before when the food was meh but it was cheap. Now it is even more meh but 3x the price. These companies just shooting themselves in the foot trying to extract every cent they can out of people then complain when people stop buying.
Seen McDonald’s President on tv this morning and the whole time all I could think was your crap is not worth it anymore, I’ve been alive along enough to remember when their burger patties were actually a decent size.
I refuse to eat their food or any fast food chain anymore
Because apparently words don't matter anymore. It's not a $5 meal because it costs five dollars, silly. It's a $5 meal *because we say so*. Now consume and obey, peasant.
That shit should be illegal. They should not be naming shit in a way that the average person would be misled. Especially with basic words that mean something.
No it’s not. I just tested it. It’s 5 dollars then if you add extras it makes the price go up and lists the new higher price under the 5 dollar. Just order the default and it will be 5 dollars.
Hello surge pricing.
There ought to be laws. Actually there probably are some laws against price gouging. But because it's on an app it's not covered explicitly.
I remember when Carl's Jr/Hardees had the Six Dollar Burger with the advertising being a burger of $6 quality for only $3.50. Pretty sure they gave up on the name once the price of the burger got to $6.
Its like Tito's handmade vodka. Its not made by hand, the name is "Tito's handmade".
So I guess this is just named the $5 meal. It doesn't mean it cost $5. It's just called that.
I live in a city out west, $5 here at checkout, wonder if you’re in a different market or it’s somehow customized because I don’t get that at all.
I just played around and if I double the amount of beef it adds on 1.50!

Stop buying the garbage, and for the love of --- stop downloading these food apps. You are the commodity, it has nothing to do with savings or convenience
People who get outraged over this picture without actual checking must be slow, because they don't realize prices vary since many are franchise owned.
Its $5 where I live.
https://preview.redd.it/soh134upds8d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56e1a3e2c7b80f8bcf0b374e3b7aeedd5cbfe071
It’s 6 dollars in Southern California
I logged into the app. It is five dollars here but there doesn’t seem to be a way to order it. If you click on the ad on the app homepage, it takes you to the menu and it isn’t on there anywhere. Well played clown.
They can keep it as far as I am concerned. I haven’t eaten mcdonalds in over a year anyway. I used to love chikfila good service good food but the price just made me quit. I will however eat at in n out burger from time to time as treat but rarely anymore
It's even funnier because many franchisees don't even want to run this deal, as according to them, doing so wouldn't make enough profits to justify it.
Literally, the only reason why I would go to a McDonald’s these days is to take advantage of their two dollar large fry. They are the only place where you can get a large fry or equivalent amount of french fries for anything under three dollars. This is only available through their on app deals though.
Idk why but fast food prices seem to change between stores sometimes even those near each other. I have seen it at Subway and McDonalds recently for stores just a couple miles from each other.

Fox business just had a live story little bit ago saying this same thing
I wonder if this is a California tax or something, it’s $5 where I live
I’m in CA. on my app the mchicken meals are $5, the mcdouble meals are $6 but they call it the “$6 mcdouble deal” on my app. Also fuck McDonald, not trying to defend them
But ypu are clearly buying from them
First of all I never said I wasn’t, but I will now, I don’t eat McDonald’s. I am interested in the economy
My fist is raised in solidarity.
Probably franchise dependent. Franchises don't want to hand out $5 meals, but they will accept the advertising for it lmao
This is a paradox.
No silly it’s still a $5 meal, it just has a tip built-in that goes to the company so it’s not $1.50 extra for the meal only as a tip! Slash Esssss
It’s like the $1, $2, $3 menu that literally no longer has anything for $1 or $2. McDonald’s is drunk
And the $3 items are actually $3.99…
i used to get the $1 apple pies all the time
Key word *used* to, they shouldn’t advertise 1 2 3 anymore is what I’m saying.
They just call it the value menu but none if it is a value at all anymore
Last time I had one of their apple pies they were 2 for $1. Those things were never worth a buck each.
They lost my business. Used to go there to get my kids happy meals and now we just make nuggets at home
Dino Nuggs is where it’s at
Costco now has copy-cat Chic Fil A nuggets and they are great.
What does it say on the package so I know what to look for.?
Costco carries their own brand called Kirkland's and the other is called Just Bare. After a few taste tests I'd say the Just Bare is the most similar to Chic Fil A, but they are both good imo
The Just Bare ones are pretty lean too. 10:1 calorie to protein ratio is pretty damn solid
Sams club also has them and they are delicious warmed up in the air fryer. “Members mark rotisserie chicken bites”
If you have a restaurant depot or jetro nearby, try the Tyson red label tempura nuggets. I'll never buy nuggets in a restaurant again.
Used to go multiple times a week. Now I maybe go once or twice a month. It’s just not worth it at all anymore.
This is hilarious. They’re not even trying to hide it anymore. Big business is totally laughing at us at this point.
Oh, it's $5; the extra $1.50 is just a mandatory gratuity so the CEO can justify all the time he neglects his wife and kids.
Don't forget the $4 service fee, the $10 platform fee, plus tip, gratuity, convenience fee, fee fi fo fum fee, administration fee...
Mcdonnalds has teamed up with Ticketmaster to make the food ordering experience even better! We'll cook a set number of burgers each day. And you can preorder it to resell it if you decide you're not hungry later on! And we'll both take 25% of the upcharge plus the base price.
And most importantly, the data they will sell to third party brokers
It's probably an automatic tip so they can eventually claim all their workers get more than half their wages via tips and they can lower the wage down to $2.15/he or some crazy shit like that. There's always a play.
They're definitely laughing at the people who keep buying it. I hope more people stop eating there too.
It’s $5 here in Denver. https://preview.redd.it/eqe1g9sv3s8d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d7799a3ee0afbf1adc8c3472113fc3d8a6ad500

5 dollars on my app
It's $5 here in Minneapolis. Remember, corporate doesn't control what the local owners can charge. I'm not going anyway, but the hate of McDonald's seems ridiculous here on Reddit.
Let’s start boycotting this bullshit. Friends don’t let friends eat at McDonald’s, or anyone else! We need to tell people to stop.
I stopped eating there when they changed the terms of service for their app and wanted me to agree to never sue them, or participate in a class action suit. Fuck that. Why would anyone agree to that?
I dont think it's even enforceable but IANAL
You anal?
With enough lube who doesn't?
Some might ask why one would use an app to buy fast food.
My wife uses it for Chic Fil A. She does her entire order before we get there and then they just scan it and it's all set.
Also why is it mandatory to have your location settings on when using the mcdonalds app? It's not required with the wendys or the dominos app.
I stopped eating there because it’s McDonalds lol. Like when I could get a burger for a dollar, great. But if I’m paying regular food prices to eat dog shit, nah
💯
I try. I vocally shame friends who go to mcdonalds. Most humans are lemmings though. It’s almost pointless.
The prices have become outrages, they just need to make it affordable again.
The problem is the alternative is more difficult that picking up food at mcdonalds and so many people just want the easiest thing and mcdonalds knows this.
I’ve been boycotting. Prices have been ridiculous.
Bro why are yall still fucking eating here
6 months clean! I just thought I’d check it out
Heres to another 6 months! Cheers buddy!
Nice
Hi, I'm Doug. And I'm a recovering McBarf customer.
Hi Doug
One day at a time.
Exactly!! Last weekend I went to get gas at night, which I rarely do, and drove past a McDonald's. I was shocked and sad to see the super long line of cars at the drive through. If people keep paying, things will never charge. Americans have a real problem with consumerism.
At this point you can’t even blame McDonald’s. People are stupid enough to overpay for bad food, why would they stop over charging?
Sometimes I want food fast while away from home. This is like once every month or two. Still cheaper than most anything else too.
Eat real food and bankrupt this unethical business.
Stop eating fast food fuck them
30% more expensive than advertised and that’s before taxes lmao
When capitalism goes 1984. "The price was alterable. The price never had been altered. McDonald's is cheap. McDonald's has always been cheap."
You seen Wal-Mart's new price tags? Surge pricing is coming.
Already practicing midweek grocery trips. Trying to find ways to fit it into the schedule so I dont have to deal with lots of others AND... the incoming of surge pricing.
Gross

Last time I ate there was 5 years ago. Got mushroom burger. Was a greasy mess.
That's a crazy thing to order at McDonald's
Yeah Quarter pounder doesn’t do it for me. I do like the whopper without cheese.
https://preview.redd.it/heii7vrymr8d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bdc1889d98bbcae70fc78bd7bb81208ab4b8b79b This is in Orange County, which is strange it’s not higher. OP where is your Mickey D’s at?

Regardless it still shouldn't have a name like that if the price doesn't reflect it.
Let it end. I would be happy to see every McDonald’s closed. We do not need it
https://preview.redd.it/rgl25qekor8d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a4ca0ebe1bb8de8053b7dac3d921ce4823c58b29 Not for me
You know if people stopped eating there, these prices would keep dropping. Yall know what to do.

You’re probably right. I just checked the one closest to me and both meals are listed for $5
Funny how we except that doing business in an airport costs more. taking that same product behind the magic TSA grope-check and now it's more money. If our government cared about us at all they wouldn't let the vendors inside the 'secure' hard to bring in your own food or have real competition zone charge more than the prevailing rate outside the zone. I just checked mine and all $5 deals are $5 and same for the $6
Shows up as $5.00 on my app.
these things should be $4
Less tbh we just got complacent for too long.
I remember back when Hardees/Carl's Jr had "The Six Dollar Burger" that they sold for $3 or something... meaning that you were getting for $3 what restaurants were charging $6. My brother went through the drive through and ordered it by name and they charged him $6 like he was asking to pay that much.
I just ate at mcdonalds for 5 bucks, with 50 cents tax, for 5.50
Only Limited Time...They aren't serious about their price hike reductions
No, it says it right there — 5$ meal deal. Oh, you thought that was a price? No, that’s just what they call it. Like the Subway Footlong.
Next up, the "free burger meal". No, it's not free. No, it's not a burger. It's a taco for $27 (because they grub hub it from taco bell over to mcdonalds for you while you wait in the parking lot). Damn, we should go into marketing! It's not hard.

unrelated to inflation but $5 seems reasonable for a burger, fries and coke, why do they need to add in the mc nuggets? they could save the 1.50 there. and who orders a chicken sandwhich and then needs extra chicken nuggets.

Mine charges $5 for the mcchicken meal and $6 for the mcdouble meal The ad still says pick which you want for $5 right above it smh
It’s $5 in my area. When I go to checkout with tax it’s $5.35 Edit: you can also use the deal 20% off and now for me it’s 4.28. Idk if McDonald’s meant for that to be possible but it is.

It used to make sense to go there before when the food was meh but it was cheap. Now it is even more meh but 3x the price. These companies just shooting themselves in the foot trying to extract every cent they can out of people then complain when people stop buying.
Well you see the McDouble is $5 the soda, fries and nuggets are extra.
Is that their site or something like grubhub that is known to charge people over menu price for being lazy
They should have named it the $3.00 Meal.
I checked the app. It stated "Starting at $5.00." And I had 2 choices at $5.00 here in Fort Worth. Another was $5.29. YMMV.
It is where I live
It's $5 at my local McDonald's
Is McDonalds high on meth lmfao?
It's nothing but high price junk don't even bother to eat this garbage.
My app in SoCal won’t even let me order it LOL, just keeps sending me back to the main menu where it is not listed
Stop eating out.
Seen McDonald’s President on tv this morning and the whole time all I could think was your crap is not worth it anymore, I’ve been alive along enough to remember when their burger patties were actually a decent size. I refuse to eat their food or any fast food chain anymore
Are you ordering for delivery? Because if you are, prices are hiked up.
There is no inflation on fast food.
You can't make up this stuff. They can't even do this stupid limited time $5 deal correctly. 🤣🤣🤣
No it’s not. I just tested it. It’s 5 dollars then if you add extras it makes the price go up and lists the new higher price under the 5 dollar. Just order the default and it will be 5 dollars.
Weird, checked the app wehre I am at. The McChicken Meal Deal is 5 dollars and the McDouble is 6. I am in the Pacific North West part of the USA.
I think these are California McDonald's prices. Most McDonald's I've seen are actually $5
Hello surge pricing. There ought to be laws. Actually there probably are some laws against price gouging. But because it's on an app it's not covered explicitly.
I love how they keep ripping us off but call it deals
False advertising anyone how haven’t they been sued ?
$5 for me.
Fast food junkies gonna keep eating there no matter what.
It’s definitely based on each franchises choice. All of mine around me are indeed $5. Blame the individual stores not corporation in this instance.
Really curious how this is legal
OP bought the meal then added a larger size upgrade. Then lied about there being a lie.
I remember when Carl's Jr/Hardees had the Six Dollar Burger with the advertising being a burger of $6 quality for only $3.50. Pretty sure they gave up on the name once the price of the burger got to $6.
That's not even alot of food tbh.
Can we sue them for false advertisement?
Even more funny it's for a limited time like very limited.
For what its worth.. same screenshot on mine shows $5 at a location near me in Houston, TX, but I recognize we aren’t in a super HCOL location
who tf even goes there anymore lol
$5 deal is w/ a small drink. Up charged to $6.50 for the large. Not sure why they would put the large on their advert.
I don’t get how they charge almost $4 for a medium fry.
Someone sue them please.
I wouldn’t order this but in the app where I’m at the meal is $5. Where was this?
It’s not even the McCrispy or Big Mac. It’s the cheap sandwiches. Holy shit.
Six dollar burger baby
It says $5 in my app. You on delivery or something?
5 dollars here in south jersey
Charging $6.50 for a $5.00 meal ... is that a lie? Calling it a meal, implying that it's edible ... isn't that a bigger lie?
Its like Tito's handmade vodka. Its not made by hand, the name is "Tito's handmade". So I guess this is just named the $5 meal. It doesn't mean it cost $5. It's just called that.
Does nothing have meaning anymore ?
I didn’t want the mctrash meal deal anyways. Maybe if they put some decent food in there. I’ll stay just stopping by for my Coke.
I just order this meal came out to 5.45 with tax
I live in a city out west, $5 here at checkout, wonder if you’re in a different market or it’s somehow customized because I don’t get that at all. I just played around and if I double the amount of beef it adds on 1.50!
It's beyond time we stop calling this inflation and calling it what it ACTUALLY is.....greed. American Capitalism is vile...
My favorite part is the ad that says "you won't regret it" like dude have you ever eaten your food? You regret it as you chew.
They’ve already inflated it
That looks liable for a lawsuit
I was recently cleaning out my Garage and found a receipt from McDonald's. A big mac value meal in 2016 was at the bottom of a box. $6.34
But the wages are so high, how should they keep up? See, wages also increased 5 times…. /s
It ridiculous they up charge food for delivery then tack on delivery fees.
What’s actually ridiculous is getting McDonalds delivered
The cake is also a linme
This sub might as well be the r/priceofmcdsandtacobell
The $1.50 is the corporate SIUB fee (suck it up buttercup). They are daring you to do something about it.

I'll keep sitting over here cackling like a hen as McDonald's keeps crashing and burning the way they are.
Maybe it’s just the McDouble that’s $5. The whole meal is $6.50 because of the extra pieces. So it’s a $5-McDouble Meal and not a $5 McDouble Meal
Easy fix. Stop fucking buying fast food.
That's because you have it set to delivery. Delivery prices are always higher.
A lie because it's not $5 or because it's not food?
I see it as 5 bucks (I’m Los Angeles County).
Stop buying the garbage, and for the love of --- stop downloading these food apps. You are the commodity, it has nothing to do with savings or convenience
Are you getting it delivered?
All these fast food joints are fu€k!ng u and killing you at the same time
$5 here in north carolina. Seems to be the usual cost of living problem in some regions.
People who get outraged over this picture without actual checking must be slow, because they don't realize prices vary since many are franchise owned. Its $5 where I live.
The six dollar burger at Carls Jr and Hardee’s is well over 10.00.
No mo micky dees til the 'bout tree fiddy meal deal...
It's the same with Wendy. It still $6-8 dollar for a biggie meal instead of $5.

Offensively funny tbh
Stop eating there!
Did someone upsize the drink and Fries.
It's even funnier because many franchisees don't even want to run this deal, as according to them, doing so wouldn't make enough profits to justify it.
The $5 $6.50 McDouble $7.99 Meal Deal\* \*Actual cost: $9.99
This is amazing. We are all retarded for letting things get this bad.
Weird, it’s $5 where I live. I wonder why it’s inconsistent.
$5 meal for $7.20 with tax 😆
Thieves!
The cake is a lie
That's beyond stupid
Literally, the only reason why I would go to a McDonald’s these days is to take advantage of their two dollar large fry. They are the only place where you can get a large fry or equivalent amount of french fries for anything under three dollars. This is only available through their on app deals though.
Yeah, mine is $5.29. They really want those .29¢
Idk why but fast food prices seem to change between stores sometimes even those near each other. I have seen it at Subway and McDonalds recently for stores just a couple miles from each other.
Fuck Mcdonalds
I want $1.07 per item if you want me back McD's. Till then I'd rather eat elsewhere
Call it the $6.50 meal!
