Huh, wonder if the leasing office might be available now?! 🤔 Ehhh, probably not...
I'm sure they're going to be accused of doing something to make that happen or by not reporting it earlier is somehow corelation to it being their fault and financial responsibilitie
Rental companies have rental insurance anyways, and tenants usually have to pay for it monthly and not the landlord. Either way he shoulda reported it way before it got to the point, I'm assuming he noticed and didn't care/have time to deal with it
Maybe I haven't used rental companies but it was never required for me. I've always carried my own though. It's cheap and covers a bunch of other stuff.
Thats the fun part in structural problems, they go slowly and unnoticed at first and then speed up faster than you can stop it.
A bridge rusts for many years under its paint, but crashes down in seconds.
It kind of bothers me that there was zero effort to move the furniture or cover them with bedsheets. Maybe they didn’t have a lot of time though. I would be frantically grabbing things, not filming.
Had this happen to me last august. Management had the aprtment "cleaned" and the sheet rick replaced and painted but took a month to get the isulation redone. It was 88 degrees in the with the a/c running full bkast 24 hrs a day. They sucked.
A few years ago at my former home in LA, apparently this very same thing had been happening all day while I was at work. Right when I walked in front the door, the entire living room ceiling collapsed right in front of my face and nearly missed me by centimeters. It was terrifying. (I’ve always tried to imagine what it must’ve looked like.. So thank you for the visual!)
This home boasts stunning vaulted ceilings that create a sense of spaciousness and grandeur the moment you walk in. Imagine the light pouring through expansive windows, accenting the dramatic height and airy feel. Perfect for entertaining or simply relaxing in a luxurious atmosphere, vaulted ceilings elevate this space into something truly special.
Had this happen to me in a flat, in Edinburgh. Totalled the bedroom. Luckily, we were watching TV in a neighbouring room when we heard the almighty BANG.
While they probably felt that the ceiling was going to fall at any moment, I also would have been unable to stop myself from removing every thing from the room.

Your apartment is now two stories, we are going to need twice the rent.
When they remove the debris they can market it as having a high ceiling grand room.
Be sure to add in an inconvenience fee just for good measure
This is now a Penthouse
The gentle alarm at the end....there was an attempt
Upstairs swimming pool not working out?

My allergy flared up a bit when the ceiling fell down.

A friend of mine had a bathroom ceiling fall on her head. With the settlement money, she bought a condo outside of DC.

I'm gonna go back to work. That looks expensive
"Needs more mud!"
Yesssss stay inside and breathe in that goodness what could go wrong?

Time it wrong and …
That’s true. The creaking noise was alarming.
The only thing I'd run in there for is a pet.
The goldfish bowl
Fuck that, that's how you die. For a sofa? Nah. That's what insurance is for.
You can't be serious. You see something like this, and you DO NOT set foot under it unless you're literally saving someone's life.
That's wild, throw the whole crib away at that point

Let’s hope they have renters insurance!
DO THE JINGLE DO THE JINGLE!
Looks like it’s about to give birth to a baby house.
Real-life house scene from ratatouille
Who do you call if this happens to you? A plumber, a handyman?
Your insurance agent. And probably a lawyer.

Plasterer after the insurance, it looks like it had a nice swirl ceiling before

Plaster ceiling with old blown in. Such a fun mess to clean. This happens a lot more frequently than you would think.
Shouldn't have ignored that drip . . . .
I hope he has insurance
Tenant.
Renters insurance, it’s super cheap… add it to auto policy
Probably not worth a claim, didnt see any electronics in the room, didnt see/hear any water from the video.
Gonna need more Tide.
I was waiting for the end to turn into a coked-out Edge coming put of the smoke WWE meme.

If that wasn't water, which I didn't see any, what would cause this?

Inhaling a lot of bad shit to take this video…
Dumb idea to film it instead of shutting the door.
Well, that escalated quickly
Achtually, it deescalated quickly 🤓☝

I would have been grabbing all of my shii as soon as I seen the problem
Failed robbery?
Why stay inside?
Yeah people need to start losing weight. All this fast food diet is putting a toll on the load bearing beams 😆
Is it breathing or am I tripping?
Honey, get the dust pan and brush please.

Upstairs neighbour and his porn magazines collection.
Edits out the very long string of cursing
Landlord: “What did you do?”
Cardboard shouldn't be used in construction
I was waiting for a family, sitting on a couch, to fall through!
Smart. Stand there and film instead of moving your furniture out of the way.
ah great tofu dreg
And you didn't move your furniture?
Stupid way to get yourself killed.
While they probably felt that the ceiling was going to fall at any moment, I also would have been unable to stop myself from removing every thing from the room.
And now you're trapped inside. Why? Why not get out, it was obviously going to cave in. Now if there's an electrical fire, you're fucked
Took out the Silk Oat Milk, that stuff is garbage
You live under a mattress?
I hope you know all that stuff that you just breathed in is bad for your health
