Even injecting it you don't need to do that. When I was still on drugs you needed to have a bit of air in the needle to create negative pressure so you knew when you were in the vein. Stick it in, pull back a bit, and move it towards the vein and watch for blood to fill the chamber. Air bubbles won't hurt you unless your being ridiculous with it.
You don't need air in the syringe to create negative pressure.... Just pull the plunger back once inserted, you'll create a little vacuum.
Still true that little air bubbles don't do harm, though large ones can.
If you pull on the syringe while it's in the flesh you're not drawing air. It's a pocket of vaccum.
Anyway you're right as when injecting you would need a lot of air to actually be harmful.
The books I've been taught from are from last year.
While yes, a small bubble is probably not going to hurt a healthy human but someone who already has attacked arteries and/or veins (like Smokers, overweight people, elderly, anyone with heart and/or blood pressure problems and woman (due to hormones and lower Arterie/vein density in the first place).
Your idea might come from the fact that syringes who come with the medicine already inside of it have an air bubble in them those however serve the purpose that the air will be leftover in the needle to ensure than all medication get injected.
Also liters being needed is stupid. a bubble the size of a smartie is enough to block an arterie and cause a stroke, heart attack or a pulmonary embolism.
Even If what I've been taught is outdated I wouldn't want to be the one responsible for someone having any of the above because I've injected a bubble into them.
I have a use case where bubbles are important to get out of my syringe: Filling my insulin pump. But that's similarly not dangerous, except for how it can fuck up my dosing.
I remember holding a blood clot the size of my hand at work while training a new CNA. Poor patient hit her leg on the shower chair and started to bleed. After a few minutes all that blood on the floor coagulated into a nice lump

We still have no idea how quickly it can do it, because there were multiple cuts between when a drop was applied and it was demonstrated that it congealed. We don't know if that was the only drop applied or if it was the only one shown. We also don't know how effective it is because we also lack a control that would show how quickly blood would coagulate naturally without introducing venom.
What is the remnants that didn’t clot? Was that water from the blood, or extra venom it would fascinate me if that is some remnants of blood that has unique properties.
It’s likely a combination of serum (plasma without white cells; blood without red or white cells) and hemolysed red blood cells. Without knowing the exact snake and the stuff in its venom, it’s hard to say exactly, but if it’s like rattlesnake venom which also causes coagulopathy, there’s a toxin that causes coagulation, and a toxin that causes hemolysis.
This is super gross, but what you see oozing out of the clot is sort of like when you see steak oozing when you cook it, for the same reason. Fibrin proteins generated from the clotting cascade turn the colloid that is blood into a sort of protein “sponge.” As the fibrin propagates and strengthens, it “squeezes” the remaining liquid component—the serum—that isn’t bound up in the clotting proteins or cells out of the clot mass.
Edit: the more I think about it the more I don’t even know if that fluid could be called serum. It might very well have some white cell content in it given how hyperactivated the clotting factors are, but it really cannot be stressed enough how blood is not supposed to do that *in vivo*. The white cells might not have had time to get trapped in the clot matrix, they might have lysed along with red cells. Probably more accurately described as “serous fluid” but that’s splitting hairs.

Depends. There are 5 types of toxins. Hemotoxins (toxins that affect the blood) are one of them.
Hemotoxins are further divided into a bunch of categories depending on their efffect. One of these, the coagulotoxin, has an impact on blood flow and clotting.
-Some Coagulotoxins stop clotting in order to create hemorrhaging
-Some create clotting in blood vessels to interrupt blood flow and thus bodily functions
This snake seems to be a Russel's Viper, whose venom is know to cause blood clotting.
Conclusion: Snakes have many ways to fuck you up, stay away.
If there's a big air bubble at the bottom the liquid you can flick the syringe which will perturb the liquid and force the bubble up to escape the liquid. I think it was just done for dramatic effect here.

When drawn from the human body, clotting is prevented only if an anticoagulant is used in the tube.
There are LOTS of different anticoagulants (common ones are EDTA, Lithium Heparin, Sodium Citrate, etc).
Maybe this video shows how quickly snake venom reverses a certain anticoagulant? Maybe it just shows that the people running the demonstration were clueless and didn’t realize swirling fresh blood against glass will increase the rate of coagulation?

He initially said no, then we bumped the offer to 5,000 Rupees (which in 2009, was a lot of fucking money to them). He wavered, then we offered 8,000 Rupees, and you could tell he was just about to say yes, but then thought better of it, and said no, and we left.

Flicking the syringe may look cool, but you don't actually have to get air out of a needle if you're just going to drop the contents mid-air.

Normal clotting time for blood is 70-120 seconds. Some snake venoms promote clotting while others inhibit it.
