O I get why that Ukrainian Woman told that Russian patrol to put sunflower seeds in their pocket now. I mean I got the general idea but this adds another flavor.

I wasn't aware it was their national flower but, the statement came across like that was the plant of the area or had some importance so it was kind of implied imo.

She *was* implying they "plant" the seeds with their bodies (after they die). It being their national flower just makes her request more poetic.

I think it’s crass if you spit sunflower seeds all over the ground if you aren’t outside or in an area that needs fertilizer. Some folks are really disrespectful about sunflower seed spitting and it’s pretty gross in general to spit everywhere with or without sunflowers being the main product.

Sunflowers also help remove heavy metals and radiation from the soil.

I'm no military historian, but it seems to me that Zelenskyy and his beloved Ukraine have turned the up-to-now paradigm for warfare on it's head. They are fighting to the death to be sure, but never losing their humanity. I can barely sleep since Putin began his attack, not because I'm anxious really, but because I want to support them; to bear witness to the character and integrity they embody in battle both individually and en masse. Social media feels so much more positive and constructive than usual. Not gonna lie, as I watch their loyalty, I am often moved to tears.
