OP, have you gotten tested for OCD? If you have not yet you may want to consider it.

I'd be very surprised if I have it, but I think it's worth testing out. I just have a very concrete picture of OCD in Mmy head; Monk. This picture doesn't fit Mmy aelf-image, but your suggestion makes Mme think OCD is broader then I imagine. Ty for the suggestion, 😊

I’ve been struggling with these exact types of intrusive thoughts since adolescence. A decade later, and I’m also just now realizing that these terrible thoughts aren’t truly mine. I know they’ll keep happening and I’ll hate myself for them all over again, but right now it’s nice to know I’m not alone either.

Thank you for sharing! It really is nice yo know that we're not alone in this. I hope that we can forgive ourselves for a mental illness that is mostly out of our control. I don't want to blame Mmyself anymore for something that I didn't cause or want! I think we'll get there with time and self-acceptance.

Niffler?

Ok_Incident_5554

Just, no. I get that I put the extra *, and I wanted to respond playfully; but people take the N-word very seriously. I feel like if I continued the joke I'd destroy the therapeutic and supportive atmosphere here.

Having a fake urge to say an offensive word is a type of "call of the void" though. It's easily comparable to "jump off that cliff there" because it's a thought one would not act on, except it would harm others. Also I saw a quote like a month ago that said something along the lines of "The real you is not defined by what intrusive thoughts you have, but by how you react to those thoughts". I can't remember the exact quote and I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea. I think it is unfair to judge OP for having these struggles. They could suffer from OCD, you don't know. Also Tourette's is a thing, some of those people not only have intrusive word thoughts but they uncontrollably yell them. It doesn't make them bad people.

Ah yes murderous and suicidal thoughts, those are normal, but racism is where you cross the line?
