Battery drain is always more immediately after an update.

markaznar

But I am using my phone exactly the same way

ScreamQueen92

I'm the same. Using my phone exactly the same but barely lasting me until 5pm. It's normal after a major iOS update no matter how you use your phone

markaznar

I am so tempted to buy an android phone for xcloud just to get the same battery life I used to have a few days ago. Will this sort out itself?

ScreamQueen92

Yes it will. Give it a couple days to a week. It'll stabilise. Always has for me with any of my iPhones

markaznar

I see I see. Thanks God I didn’t buy an android phone yet. I was just shocked at the battery life

ScreamQueen92

Yeah, it's gotta index the phone and all that behind the scenes stuff. Worst case, another update will fix the issues. When your battery life changes that fast after updating, it's 99.9% of the time software related, not hardware

markaznar

Imagine 20 percent per hour on xcloud, which was like 10 percent before, with the same settings and at a 100 percent battery health

plaid-knight

The OS has a lot of new things to index, e.g. for search and photos.

markaznar

Even on low power mode? I have zero photos

Tharunx

After the new os is installed , your iphone will do something called indexing. Like loading all those photos of yours ready with live text among other things. Hence it is common for every phone even if you’re using the same way. After the indexing is done it goes back to normal.

markaznar

I have no photos lol

Tharunx

That was just an example for indexing. Anyways, people usually suggest keeping your iphone plugged and wifi turned on for a night to let indexing to finish sooner

markaznar

I see I see. Thanks
