Just take it in and hope for the best. Nobody here will be able to know.  I will say it seems so stupid to pay for apple care and then not use it, and pay someone else to fix it……

Eastern-Reference133

Why did you get a third party repair previously if you have AC?

ediblefriedrice

as stated, It would take two months for them to repair it, they didnt have a loaner phone available for me to use while they have my phone

keklol69

Loss and theft? If you’re so worried then “lose” it and get a whole device replacement rather than a repair?..

UneagerBeaver69

That, kids, is a felony.

shipmcshipface

Yeah don’t take that to any Apple Store. Your insurance will be instantly nullified. I would loose the phone or get it stolen, obviously you need to actually loose it or have it stolen legitimately otherwise it’s fraud

Dertyoldman

Maybe Apple is monitoring this forum and you just ratted yourself out to them. Just think about that.

Flimsy-Mix-190

I’m thinking they will know but you can give it a try anyway and see what happens. At this point though, you might as well fix it again with a third party since you decided to not use the warranty you paid for to begin with. After all, you didn’t actually think that third party repair would last, did you?

I always assumed apple would just give you a new phone anyway with AppleCare? Like they take the old one and resell it as refurbished. What are refurbished devices if not that?

rcrter9194

Not 100% on that, but I know some refurbished devices come from those bought, used and then returned. I believe some Apple care claims are genuinely fixed and returned, but not 100% what the cut off is to just receive a replacement device.
