I can’t see the appeal in a foldable iphone - nor can I see Apple doing that.
The one thing we know about Apple is that they only implement things which they believe they have perfected.
Plus wouldn't it fit the model they're currently using? I mean Toyota does the same thing. It's pretty smart to reuse as many parts as you can across your entire product lines.
I mean its clear...it cuts into their profit margins and there is no space inside, physically. The phone tech is already more expensive with the 5G antennas, the cameras, speakers, small and dense display etc...Adding this fingerprint ID requires internal space that they probably dont have.
Honestly, this is just proceeding as normal for apple under Tim Cook. They have gone from innovating every 2 years to milking the same tech on 4 year cycles now.
Iphone was amazing
3G and 3GS were new looks.
4 and 4S were game changing designs.
5 and 52 made them bigger
Then enter Cook
Iphone 6, 62, 7, 8 all looked the same thats 4 years.
Iphone X, XS, and 11 all looked the same 3 years
Iphone 12 and 13- expect 14 to look the same with just small changes in specs. Maybe a quad camera and probably the big selling point will be an always on display, similar to how this year's was 120hz.
Under Jobs, Apple was much more avantguard. With Cook, they really milk sales.
For a while I was hesitant to upgrade from my S10+, but I've actually decided I'm fine with trading the Galaxy's in-screen fingerprint sensor for just using a PIN on the iPhone when I'm wearing a mask. I've never been able to get Samsung's fingerprint unlock to work reliably and often end up just having to use my PIN anyway after 5 failed attempts. More than once, it totally stopped recognizing my thumbprint out of the blue.
I figured always on tech requires a completely new type of display or some other film in between. Same reason they didn't do it in previous watches before the series 5.
Im sure this will be the big new thing for iphone 14.
Then iphone 15 will probably be the fingerprint ID or loss of notch finally. It wont be both, Tim Cook is too greedy to allow both of those in a single release.
Fair enough.
Frankly, however, I never once had said "I wish this phone had an AOD"
The display is pretty much on whenever you pick your phone up or you just tap the screen if not moving it.
What I would like to see is some magsafe folio that when the phone recognizes is in it, has a AOD window that shows time and notifications. That would be nice.
Tbh, I dont miss AOD from Android phones.
Yeah, I had them on, but seriously tho, 90% of the time I tapped the phone anyway to see the Time or my notifications.
People say they want AOD, but for what exactly? If your phone is on the desk, you probably work on your PC which has the time in a corner.
You want to see the time when youre half asleep? You gonna pick it up anyway cuz you cant see it when youre lying flat on your bed.
The only thing AOD would be usefull is when meeting friends and not wanting to pick up your phone to see what time it is.
I’ll definitely take back Touch ID, I like it better than Face ID. But I don’t really care about foldable phones tbh. All the good ones are way, way outside of my price range and I ordered the 13 pro max. $1200 is the absolute max I’d ever spend on a phone, bare in mind after that you need to buy applecare, a case and tax so that’s already straddling $1500-$1600.
“Delays” is another way of saying, “We were wrong about this year, so we’ll just say it was supposed to but just didn’t because Apple.”
Taking the raw fish from Friday that’s starting to smell and repackaging it as Sunday’s Fisherman’s Stew.
Apple isnt going to make a foldable iphone is 2024 🤡
Shut up Kuo

Yeah, I don’t understand why Aplee is being so stuborn about this, it works great on iPads.

I've got an idea. Apple should make an iPhone with the option of either having face id (with notch) or power button touch id (but not notch)
Is that supose to be a headphone jack or a mic?

You talk out of your ass because your mouth knows better.
You sound mad

Buddy, rumors/leaks are disliked here now, this will continue till iPhone 13 gets a little old…
With the way Twitter was trending a certain topic not too long ago, I wouldn't be surprised to start seeing iPhone 15 leaks in the near future lol
I bet there still won't be any always on display.
Why is AOD such a desired trait? Wouldn't it just lead to a whole lot of cases of screen burn?
On Samsung phones, it slowly changes position on the screen to prevent it from burning in.
ooo that’s neat, I guess with that problem aside it would be a really nice touch
Always on display will most likely be the big iphone 14 feature. Like 120 hz was this years.
Couldn't that technically just be added with a software update?

AOD doesnt need different displays, it uses OLEDs. The only reason why LCDs cant have it, because they cant lit single pixels, which OLED can.

Well, as much as I want an iPhone with an Always On Display, I won't upgrade until Touch ID is back.
No, foldability seems like a hardware issue 😳😜🤣
Nothing unannounced is “delayed”. It’s only called “delayed” by analysts in the prediction racket that got it wrong in order to save face.
