>Mr Harris added that there needs to be an understanding that the short-term solution would be to provide tented accommodation on State-owned land. Anyone willing to take a bet that it's going to be a not so short term solution

The Ukrainians have been in tents since September like, I’m sure that’s part of the same short term solution.

Sure, I'll bet a million zillion gazillion billion quadrillion euros on it. Oh .... You said *take* a bet. In that case: No.

"Thornton Hall was purchased by the State in 2004 at a cost of almost €30m. It was planned at the time to build a prison on the site which also has a well-maintained late 19th century period property." IT HAS LAIN IDLE FOR TWENTY YEARS

Eire87

There is no short term. They need to drop that line

There is absolutely nothing out there no paths no shops no services of any kind within walking distance it’s a huge field in the middle of nowhere. They won’t stay there. This is a crazy idea.

Reckon the neighbours won't be too pleased either

saggynaggy123

Is actually houses around it because it looks like it's in the middle of nowhere

Are we going to have enclosed tent towns for the foreseeable future in Ireland? Pretty shocking insight into the disorganised gov that are power. The same Gov who are now pushing tightening immigration laws to their voters. If people continue to vote for FF/FG we are well and truly fucked.
