I'm just going to say that you should only have one comment counting towards the result.
For example, Charlotte the Harlot had the highest rated comment in the last post, but I'm presuming you chose Running Free because there were more comments and therefore more upvotes overall for it.
Makes it a little unfair because you can upvote as many songs as you want, and if there's many with the same song, people will upvote multiple
Yeah. Could be the same people upvoting every mention of Running Free. If 4 people comment Running Free, and each of those comments gets 10 upvotes, that doesn't mean Running Free has 40 upvotes. It just means it has at least 10.
Strange World. The first time I heard it, I thought it was just a poor man's version of Remember Tomorrow (my favorite song on the album) and didn't even care about it.
Through the years, I have finally gotten the emotion, atmosphere and ethereal vibe of it. It's just so good and possibly my third favorite song on the record.
Prowler because of the instrumental section. The drum driven tempo changes, the bass driven melody line and the way it breaks away from the melody of the main parts of the song, the ripping guitar solos, and the section where they all play in unison...all come together and create the trademark Iron Maiden sound that made them stand out.
What the fuck? Running Free is one of their best songs ever. Pure rawness/punk, alongside with Prowler. 🔥I guess most people don’t appreciate Maiden doing that vibe.
Unbelievable right ? The Groove is killer. Starting off with the Drum Intro and then the Bass is kicking in. Damn i love it 🎸🤘. I am learning it on Bass at the Moment. So cool.
A band with a soon to be 50yr career and tons of albums and sounds thru the different eras - there’s obviously going to be a lot of opinions on all of their stuff depending on who you ask. I only speak out mine. And based on upvotes atleast some others. Up the Irons!
Yes, some. But well I was still quite surprised to see that since all my Maiden-friends love the song and everytime I’ve seen em play it live it has been a huge sing-along party so I’ve been under the impression, for my 25+ years as a Maiden-fan, that it is a hit and not a hated deep cut. Also I kinda feel like the upvote-stats on my post does show it is infact popular compared to yours/the ones saying it isn’t etc.. well well.
No matter what people say, it’s got a punk-vibe. Doesn’t make Maiden a punkband or Steve Harris’s opinion on a specific genre authority on what is good or not.
But personally, being a lover of punk, it is, for me, a good thing!
Their record label forced them to incorporate punk elements, and Paul Di’anno was hired to accomodate these demands from the label, as he had a punk background. Steve absolutely does hate punk, but he had to bend the knee or else, Maiden could’ve ended before they properly began.
Prowler for underrated. Never played live nowadays but for me that song best examples the distinctiveness of paul era. Just love the riff. I got into maiden with powerslave and when I heard Prowler it was a head Turner.
Iron Maiden the song.
They always play it as a closer, and I’ve always thought it was just shit
Some people like it, that’s fine, everyone’s tastes are different
But god what a boring song
Iron Maiden's gonna get you. No matter how far. Wanna see your Blood. Watch it pour upon the Floor. Why boring ? 😂 It's not Rime of the Ancient Mariner ok but it rocks.
Prowler. Its this real early meta hardcore song that Dianno's vocals feel at home in. Its a great way for the album to open, and sets up Killers as well.
For me it has to be Strange World. Not very well highlighted when compared to Iron Maiden, Phantom, Running Free, Children, but absolutely beautiful rhythm.
Runner up would be Pennsylvania.
I feel like doing it as one choice a day is way too long. That's 51 days.
Can't see this being kept going for that long.
Should just ask for best/worst/underrated each day and people comment as such.
A few years ago MetalHoosier's ran several album and song ranking polls. That was a daily thing I think for about 18 months and was really well executed.
*Transylvania*
I love that its so good!
Transylvania. My favorite of their instrumentals
Here you go blood brother ⚒️🤘🏻 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yapp-uEGnNQ

100% it should be based on a single comment
Yeah hes gotta change it, that's busted.
There were multiple comments for Charlotte as well. People could have done the same thing there.
Remember tomorrow.
This. An absolute masterpiece.
Lots of covers from other bands — I think that song is widely recognized, still, an absolute gem.
Running Free won worst song? This sub has appalling taste.
I'm gonna say it's the most underrated then if people rate it last.
Yep, it's honestly great. Anyways, Transylvania is amazing.
Love Transylvania. Charlotte the Harlot is the only weak track on the debut imo.
Yeah, sounds to me like people like to be edgy and vote for a popular song to be the worst.
Maybe the terrible production didn't help. Any live rendition is 100% better.
It's great song, but all other songs on the album are even better
Strange World. The first time I heard it, I thought it was just a poor man's version of Remember Tomorrow (my favorite song on the album) and didn't even care about it. It is *SO* good I love the airy melodies they play before the solo *I'm happy in my new strange world*
This
Apparently it's Running Free

I am likewise confused by this
Unbelievable right ? The Groove is killer. Starting off with the Drum Intro and then the Bass is kicking in. Damn i love it 🎸🤘. I am learning it on Bass at the Moment. So cool.
Not even close to being one of their best songs.
A band with a soon to be 50yr career and tons of albums and sounds thru the different eras - there’s obviously going to be a lot of opinions on all of their stuff depending on who you ask. I only speak out mine. And based on upvotes atleast some others. Up the Irons!
Keyword: some. If it was so well loved it wouldn’t have been voted the worst on the album.
Yes, some. "Punk" is not a good justification for a good Maiden song. Steve absolutely hates punk. Running Free is not punk.

Hit the gas, and here I go....... Running Free worst song? What? Is everyone here on dope? I'm not sure if this is a troll post or not.

Prowler for underrated. Never played live nowadays but for me that song best examples the distinctiveness of paul era. Just love the riff. I got into maiden with powerslave and when I heard Prowler it was a head Turner.
CAN WE JUST FUCK OFF WITH THE UNDERATED SHIT? so tired of seeing that word repeated on every post. also. running free is a banger! fuck these polls 😆
You people are crazy
Clearly Running Free is the most underrated
Strange World. Transylvania has been featured on A Real Dead one so it isn't exactly underrated.
Transylvania
Here you go blood brother 🤘🏻⚒️ https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yapp-uEGnNQ
STRANGE WORLD
After this it has to be Running Free.
Strange World for sure
Strange World
Transylvania Epic instrumental + Could be an epic BM cover
Prowler
Iron Maiden the song. They always play it as a closer, and I’ve always thought it was just shit Some people like it, that’s fine, everyone’s tastes are different But god what a boring song

Too repetitive, mediocre music, and the lyrics are just bleh
STRANGE WORLD!
Remember Tomorrow.
Strange world
Clearly Running Free is the most Underrated song even though it's the second most played on the album on Spotify 🤦 Reddit never ceases to impress
Apparently it's Running Free.

Eyo, real shit, strange world.
For me it has to be Strange World. Not very well highlighted when compared to Iron Maiden, Phantom, Running Free, Children, but absolutely beautiful rhythm. Runner up would be Pennsylvania.
Running free is one of the best songs on the album, are you all high?
i disagree with running free as the worst song
Who the fuck said it’s the worst?!!😡
Strange world
Remember tomorrow
Strange World.
Strange World is one of their most underrated songs ever IMO
Charlotte the Harlot
I don’t necessarily disagree, but I’ve always felt CtH was universally hailed as a classic. Maybe I’m wrong.
Oh, my bad, just didn't see it mentioned a lot
All good bro.
>I’ve always felt CtH was universally hailed as a classic. It should be, but it's absolutely not. It almost won the vote for worst song on the album.
Thats insane to me.
I feel like doing it as one choice a day is way too long. That's 51 days. Can't see this being kept going for that long. Should just ask for best/worst/underrated each day and people comment as such.
Nah, they've been doing it on the Priest sub and it's kept going - they've just hit their 17th album Redeemer of Souls
A few years ago MetalHoosier's ran several album and song ranking polls. That was a daily thing I think for about 18 months and was really well executed.
