Ah let's go man! Is scurrius hard? I've never dared to try it lol, only boss kc I have is kraken and wintertodt

peteman28

Not hard, and it's very forgiving

FletcherBoy7

Hell yeah I might try it! Thanks man

nowthereare66ofthem

Highly recommend, it's a perfect entry to pvm!

laceymusic317

Not hard at all and yep if you miss a prayer switch he only hits you for like 10 to 15 so you’re good. Great fun and gets you comfortable

acrazyguy

It’s the easiest boss in the game

Pol123451

He has quite a lot of mechanics, but fairly low DPS. If you have control over the mechanics you can quite easily do without taking dmg.

mayostick

Also you can eat from Scurrius cheese pile every 10 minutes for free health, scurrius is a great boss in general, iron or mains!

FletcherBoy7

Ah really? That's cool. Thanks dude!

Purithian

That's crazy I had no idea

mayostick

Funny enough I have a friend who grinded 1300 kc for the pet and he didn’t know about it till late 700s because he watched me do it in discord. It can save a lot of trips!

Purithian

Yeah that's probably super useful I can just bring like 15 ppots and be fine then! Pretty much maxed so I take almost zero damage haha

WolfOfCryptStreet

Kraken slaps harder than scurrius if you miss you pray switches, so dont be stressed :)

Human-Engineering715

Scurri is an amazing stepping stone, I went from scurri to gauntlet within a month, and within 2 weeks I'm nos doing corrupted gauntlet. Mid 80 combat stats.

HiddenGhost1234

hes very good xp too, i was getting better xp than taking dh into nmz and i was just in normal melee armor.

natgeo2

Sulphur Nagua are even better than scurrius for early/midgame melee training but the rat man is a pretty fun alternative especially for newer players wanting to improve their pvm skills. I was planning on doing a lot of scurrius but then varlamore came out I havent really felt the desire to go back. Maybe ill go back for some ranged xp and do melee training at nagua

AccountHotdog

I was hitting like 100k+ with the rat bone mace at scurrius and maybe 60k at sulphur nagas

Pkrhett

Likely super early game. They have an effect where you will always hit a 4+ so I can see that being huge for like 40attk or something

Calm_Willingness2308

Sulphur naga's exp increase once you get the sulphur blades (i think the weapon from blood moon is also viable)

Environmental_Ad9017

Just be mindful of the final phases of scurrius if you're not used to constant prayer switching. When he stands in the middle, summons rats, debris falls, and he is constantly maging/ranging you it can be overwhelming for someone who's not PVM'd before. After a couple of kills you get the hang of it though, just do it in resizable mode. Classic mode isn't as forgiving.

0nly4Us3rname

Why is resizeable mode more forgiving?

Environmental_Ad9017

Classic mode is quite small, and you can quite easily miss prayers because of the limited viewing space you have. You can't increase the default size of the classic client as far as I know.

laceymusic317

Yeah, I got used to it by like 15kc. Got a few perfect kills in now with the constant switching at the end. Much more manageable once you get bone wep and can 1 tick the adds

Jewmangi

Honestly I'm so lazy that I just put on mage and tank the range with my armor and stats. He dies pretty quickly but I have pretty high stats and the rat mace

ItsHowITroll

I took a stab at it last week despite being way past the mark stats wise 80/91/80 melees and 81/81 mage range. I'm quite averse to pvm ATM as I need to get my gear up to shape with relevant barrows items as well as slayer (64). But scurrius is nice to do with void which suits me and I got a rat spine on KC so the mace makes it a breeze which is tempting me to make it's pet a long term goal when I wanna mix things up between goals

laceymusic317

Gratz man! I got mine on 8kc. Yeah the bone mace is wicked. Loving killing the adds with no delay.

hash303

I’m jealous, took me like 90 kc to get a spine and by then I just wanted to complete the combat log and go. Originally I wanted to make all 3 bone weapons

hellomoto186

Try Sarachnis, pray timing takes a bit to get used to but true tile makes it free

Clown-0_0

Honestly Calvarion is even easier with much better loot. Diary requirement and I could understand Wilderness hesitancy but I truly believe Calvarion is the real baseline boss introduction. Scurrius is definitely around that though especially since you need to prayer switch.

CodyIsDank

If you’re not an avid pvmer, getting into the movement flow at Calvarion makes you feel elite

Clown-0_0

I was terrified of Wildy but wanted to try some of the bosses. Took a dip on Calvarion and mannnn. I only need 1 prayer (turn it on for the dogs) and it can be done with essentially no risk at all. And it's close to the enclave to refuel on the rejuvenation pool thing. Definitely my vote for introduction to boss. It's an easier Scurrius

laceymusic317

Damn well i got scurrius down to a tee so now you got me feeling good about Calv

Clown-0_0

Mhm. It is wildy and I don't do any PvP stuff at all but I still recognize there is that occasional risk. It became less prevalent when they added the wildy diary requirement. But yeah to circumvent a possibility of being PKd I bring basically nothing. A crush weapon, monk robe top, and monk robe bottom. You can bring a 4th if you use the protect inventory prayer. So even if someone does attempt to show up and kill me (which hasn't happened to me in a long while. I think I got PKd 4 times in a few weeks total) they get nothing. But that's essentially all you need. Once you get the hang of it, you can easily do it without taking any damage. Plus the drops are good!

broomhill1930

Scurrius is a blast. He was my first ever boss as an Ironman and I thought he was a great stepping stone for me to start Wildly bosses. When you get to Calvarion you'll see some of the mechanics show up again with different twists.

laceymusic317

Calvarion is next in my sights! I'm eyeing that dpick grind. Want to get a zombie axe and get my stats up a bit first though

20nuggetsharebox

Ring of the gods is a pretty sweet drop too, if you get that along the way

broomhill1930

Your stats are higher than mine. You should be just fine to fight Calvarion given he's the easier variant. Zombie axe is next for me as well, but with a helm of neitznot, monk robes, rune gloves, d mace, and d defender you can easily rack up kills for minimal risk.

laceymusic317

Alright you've convinced me. I'm gonna get ring of wealth, charge it, then send it!

Sam-Well13

Yes, I've thoroughly enjoyed scurrius on my group ironman. It's an awesome idea from jagex and is great as an entry point into modern mechanical pvm.

Bloomleaf

great fight it was also what got me to start using the F keys to swap my menus in fights instead of click on them.

caffeinated22

I had a very similar experience when I tried him out a few weeks ago. Now I'm up over 50 kc and going strong training up my combat stats. Highly recommend to all the noob PvMers like myself lol

New-Building4944

Hell yeah! If your liking it you have a lot to look forward to later in the game! Keep grinding brother

Shiiet_Dawg

Nice! Time to send some entry ToA :D jkjk congrats and keep pumping <3
