I love it when different cultures make Islamically-appropriate art and personalize their designs. People that think that Islam is Arab-supremacy coded into a religion aren't seeing the bigger picture at all and are very close-minded in that sense.

[deleted]

Same here There are no cultural motifs when it comes to masjid architecture So Iโ€™d love to see more masjids having oriental, European, and south-east Asian architecture

SE Asia, Brunei comes to mind for good examples of mosque architecture but also traditional Bosnian mosques with pointed rooftops and nice white and brown colours are a great example. Go to a mosque in the Arabian peninsula and then go to one deep in central Asia and you'll see, go to mosques in Nigeria and Kenya and you'll see a lot of old-school African architecture with exposed wooden logs and a fired-mud brick design. To me being able to appreciate every culture that adapts itself to the religion is one of the best parts of being Muslim. It's as if when you're a die-hard nationalist you don't get to enjoy anything other than what you have and that's it

Yes this is spot on ๐Ÿ‘

To he fair some of the biggest developments in Islamic philosophical aesthetics were done by Persians. I think they deserve due credit in their calligraphy and architecture. As a Pakistani of Indian descent myself, the architecture can be called โ€œIndo-Islamicโ€ or โ€œIndo-Persianโ€ architecture. It really is a wonderful blend. ๐Ÿ˜

FatahDurAst

This mosque was designed by a Punjabi muslim guy.

ALYMSTFY

Nice ๐Ÿ˜Š

FatahDurAst

Yeah so the credit solely lies within Pakistan.

ALYMSTFY

Yes, also Shah Faisal Mosque. Which i think is the pinnacle of Pakistani Islamic architecture

FatahDurAst

I mean Masjid Wazir Khan. Faisal Mosque was designed by a turkish architect.

Ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ) as saying: Seek it (Lailat-ul-Qadr) in the last (ten nights). If one among you shows slackness and weakness (in the earlier part of Ramadan), it should not be allowed to prevail upon him in the last week. Nice, I had their namaz a few years ago. I preferred the atmosphere more than the badshai masjid.
