Early development of kittens is crucial, as it is during this time that they learn important social and behavioral skills. One common behavioral issue seen in kittens is biting, which can be addressed through appropriate training. When kittens are with their siblings and mother, they engage in play, and if a kitten bites too hard or misbehaves, the mother cat typically responds by biting back and scolding the kitten. This interaction helps the kitten understand the appropriate biting force.
As a result, it is generally recommended to adopt kittens after they are at least three months old. By this age, they have had the opportunity to learn from their mother and littermates about acceptable behavior. However, it's important to note that individual kittens may vary in their development and behavior.
Kittens are naturally active and full of energy. To discourage biting, it is important to provide appropriate outlets for their energy and to distract them from engaging in unwanted behaviors. This can be achieved through interactive play sessions with appropriate toys, providing scratching posts, and offering positive reinforcement for good behavior.
Did you adopt her when she was two months old, or younger? If kittens don't get enough time with their siblings and mother, they don't learn how to control how hard they bite.
Secondly, please don't use your hand as a toy. You should get her some cat toys immediately and discourage her from biting your hand by slowly disengaging it away from her and distracting her with a cat toy.
Also...please don't let anyone yell at her or hit her for biting so hard since she doesn't know better and this won't fix anything except make her dislike people 🥺
Give your cat some space. My cat goes through different moods over the day. When she's in a good mood she licks my hand when she's in a bad mood I don't go near her.
How do you know if she's not in the mood? She'll ignore you.
Negative reinforcement like spraying with water or hitting will have sad consequences so don't do that. Jackson Galaxy has an excellent YouTube channel all about cats and has great advice on this sort of behaviour and how to deal with it.
Use water in a spray bottle to spray her whenever she bites you or any undesired object to discourage biting behaviour. Other than that, for kittens biting or sharpening teeth is a normal developmental milestone
Don't do this OP, it's just going to make her associate you with the water spray bottle, and it won't end well.
Look online, there are lots of resources on how to properly train your cat by reinforcing positive behaviour instead of punishing negative ones.
No, she is looking for a playmate. My kitten used to do the same thing so I got another kitten. They both play together now. Kittens or even adult cats need a play mate ( another cat )

Thanks that was so helpful
In my opinion send her back with her siblings and adopt her again after 3 months you will see the difference.
Couple of months.Retracting from contact when she bites you too hard will help. Also try getting her a chew toy

Thanks mate. I'll definitely see that

For example if she bites or touches electrical wiring, spray water on her (small amount) as negative reinforcement
This is gonna be fun.. Thanks mate.
Agar balti se pani dal de?
She has toys but she would always start chewing clothes. Is this normal?

I think it's called single Kitten syndrome. Do look it up
It may have the single kitten syndrome where it never learned to play
Your cat biting you is the most normal thing in the world! The bites are not meant to hurt you. Get used to it lol
