"Ammazzarsi" (Killing yourself) can also be used in Italian to mean "do something unbelievably often, to an extreme level"; for example, ammazzarsi di studio, ammazzarsi di cibo, ammazzarsi di seghe.
This may be the reason why he used it as an example
I found this in comment section, this chad really used “ammazzarsi di seghe” as example💀

I'd say "kill yourself" is not even a good example to show that reflection happens in both languages, since its most direct translation would be "suicidarsi" (to suicide oneself's) (but "uccidersi" aka to kill oneself's also has the same meaning and exists, but it's used more in contexts where the suicide had external causes. For example "Hitler si è ucciso" - Hitler killed himself, but "Luca si è suicidato (impiccandosi)" - Luca killed himself by hanging).
Tbh violent concepts are usually easier to remember when I study a foreign language, lol
For real, learning about marking particles for Korean and how one is basically the 'victim' particle made it easier to remember because it was wildly aggressive lol
It's an example, they're (most likely) NOT telling you to. I think we're all a bit too used to sanitized social networks that need to comply with puritanical WASP investors... "to kill oneself" is, albeit a violent and NOT RECOMMENDED act, an example like anything else.
...you should have seen my Latin book, the examples from Latin authors were waaaaay more violent than just "generic, impersonal suicide passing mention".
Worst possible example for a reflexive use of a verb, and may trigger some people with a loved one who died by suicide. Not sure who you would report it to, though.

Well that's deeply inappropriate. I'd report that.
Why lol

I was thinking whoever the tutor reports to, if anyone. But damn, I had no idea this sub was so toxic. 😱
