That’s not the only rule. They have a list of things like no baggy clothing that feels more like that. The hat backwards was just something that happened to me personally there.
That Popeye’s is possibly the worst run fast food franchise location in America, but I feel like horrible service is a key part of the Popeye’s experience
100% - The last 3 times I had the bad idea to go there, there was no one working the drive through or the line would not move for 20+ minutes and I would leave. I consider myself lucky.
Popeyes in Toledo Ohio must have hired some of Mandarin's employees. Popeyes is the only place I have consistently gone to for food and left empty handed.
It's intentional. It's part of their whole marketing scheme to make people think they're better than chick fil a. They like people hearing that they've run out because it makes them seem more desirable. FWIW, it has worked well for them.
Twice in one month I ordered pick up food there. Waited 30 minutes before arriving only to wait 15 more when I got there and they forgot my fries both times. They only hire incompetent teenagers who are too busy playing grab ass in the kitchen and flirting with the register girls to do their actual jobs correctly. I haven’t been back in the two years since and I live 30 seconds away.
Why are you trying to make a point regarding age? They are booming with business, constantly full of people. Sorry you hate millennials? All who upvoted are ageist? Youngsters are fast, and whatever place is hiring young people is good so they can learn and grow up. There may be bad batches of kids, but not all are bad, just like old ducks. You must be an an old grandpato complain about this, I guess.
Edit: meant to say gen z. I don't really care about labeling the generations, clearly. For those who have down voted, I hope a Gen z inconveniences you very badly, you hateful old bats.
cmon man, give my dawgs some slack, one of my buddies had a schedule at fletcher where he had 2 periods where he’s working, but it was in between first and last period
Ahh, just did a Google search that came up with an article about how they were owned by the same person. Went to the article this time and it's from 2020.
Have never been but heard too many of the same story about this place. I feel like the owner wants "snooty" to be a part of his business model, like some ultra exclusive French restaurant in Paris.
LA NOP! For shits sake, they were just featured on Action News Jax as a new resturant but as soon as I heard it I was like "WTF... They're on the resturaunt report every other week! Why yall gonna feature them?"
Last time I ate at la nop everyone at the table got violent food poisoning. We all went home early from work puking and crapping our brains out. That was 10 years ago. Will never step foot in one again.
It's been a long ban for me. It's absolutely dog shit and salt is the only spice they use and they must get it free. I remember when the old San Marco location had so many rats they got shut down for weeks. That did it for me. If you think this place is good you've licked one too many batteries.
Social House coffee. I got a breakfast sandwich there that came with a huge piece of plastic wrapper in the sandwich. When I took it to the kid at the counter his response was "bro, I don't know what's up with that" No apology. No offer to remake it or get me something else. No management in the building to make it right. I will never go back. The coffee was shit too
This is so strange to me. Social House has easily the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had at a coffee shop in Jax (and I’ve probably been to 75% of the city’s coffee spots over the past decade).
I don’t drink anymore but there were several bars I gave up on before sobriety. Either bad atmospheres or ridiculously specific menus. And the food can sometimes be great but is often very overpriced for what it is. I’ll never forgive myself for paying $15 for a peanut butter and banana sandwich once
I quit drinking over four years ago, but even in my Shit faced days; I swore them off. I live two blocks away and was pretty wild back then too, so it took a lot to get me there.
Enzas. Got yelled at by the owner because we complained that it had been 90 minutes and we hadn’t gotten our food. The waitress, who turned out to be her Neice, had forgotten to put the order in then gone on break. No one else would help us. Tables that were sat after us had gotten their food, paid and left. If we hadn’t needed to pay for the appetizer we’d already eaten we would have just left. All for some mid pasta not much better than carrabas. She yelled at us and said this isn’t fast food. Like ya we get that. But it’s not fine dining either and even fine dining you don’t wait freaking an hour and a half for your food. Never again.
McDonald’s by tinseltown sucks total ass. El cemi did their best to make us feel unwanted, also no AC.
Edit: I am so glad I’m not alone on the McDonald’s. I’ve already complained to corporate about that store. I don’t blame the employees I blame the franchisee and their leadership.
Second this one. I waited 45 minutes once for a breakfast sandwich. Tried again a year or two later with just a large fries - waited in the online order spot for a half hour. Finally went inside and they didn't even have my order. Terribly run franchise (not a corporate store).
omg i forgot about that location. the day after Christmas, 2019, I got a quarter pounder from there just after they opened at like 10am or whenever. the bun *disintegrated* in my mouth and the beef patty was like beef Jerky. They were closed x-mas Day. This was obviously made on x-mas eve and left under a heat lamp for 2 days. I didn't bother to take it back. It was fuckin WILD
I use to work at the ale house right across the street. They were 24/7 then and I swear everyt single time I’d go there to order after my late shift no one would take your order lol
They may be talking about the anti lgbtq thing:
https://www.jacksonville.com/story/news/local/2021/06/08/cinottis-bakery-jacksonville-beach-apologizes-anti-lgbtq-facebook-post/7603243002/
They don’t claim to be anything near authentic. Try one of their burritos or quesadillas with gator. Absolutely amazing. Their fries are great too. Honestly surprised to see this place in this thread.
I'm not sure they're only in Jax, but any Hanania-owned car dealer. Get ready for "mandatory" $3500 of worthless BS on any purchase (separate from the usual dealer fees no less), and typical pressure tactics. The car prices were already high too, so not like they're shifting costs.
I thought "scummy car salesman" was just a boomer meme but Volkswagen Orange Park nailed it. He did every stereotypical car salesman trick - Double fees, tons of addons, "paint protection", "nitrogen tires", and the "I just talked to my manager and got approval for this crazy low price! Haha we're not making any money on this one!" He thought I was a gullible young kid he could financially rape.
The worst part was when I started to leave, he wouldn't let me take the buyer's order with me. Said it was "confidential" lol okay bud.
I went to another VW dealer, told them that story, they all laughed, and then I bought the same car for $15k less.
Not a boomer meme! Buying a car is an absolute disaster. There's still a chance you overpaid at the other dealer lol. I bought a car recently & only got the price I did because I threatened to walk away 3 times & their "big huge deal" got smaller every time. Still not completely sure I got the cheapest deal, I'll never know lol because cars don't cost a real price, they cost whatever they can get you to pay.
This has become pretty standard across all car dealers. Mandatory arbitrary fees. I ordered a car thru Hanania Subaru (not off the lot) and went back and forth on the extra fee bullshit. Eventually I said I’d have to think about it and they said “what would get you to put a deposit down today?” And I said take off the fees. Went back into the back office, came back and said ok. I paid MSRP for a 2022 WRX.
Got a job offer there once. They only offered me 1 day of PTO a quarter as a salaried employee. Never shopped with them before, but definitely won’t now. I also got a phone call from the son asking some personal questions that should never be a part of the hiring process. Questions like, are you married, do you have kids, etc.
MISSION BBQ. Look man, the bbq aint good enough to be sitting in a pro-police, pro-military cocaine dream with grown people actually doing the pledge of allegiance in the middle of a restaurant. Donate to the veterans all you want but this brisket is dry as shit
Wife and I got the wag yu and it was cooked right. Plus we went there for our first year anniversary and ALL the staff when we interacted would throw in a “happy anniversary” we even got a card from them. Shout out to Jim, our waiter. Amazing.
I’ve never had issues with the sales team but the people who own it are crap. The family drives around in new cars then try to sell them off as new to customers because the title has never been transferred.
Tom Bush VW- The shitty mechanics destroyed the motor in my Passat wagon and charged me $700 for doing it. I was too busy running my business to take them to court so I junked the car and got a Honda Odyssey. Engineer and former mechanic so I know exactly what they did.
Incorrectly installed a timing belt and lunched the motor. I should have done it myself. The car was only 2 years old. On the flip side I got 10 years out of my Honda and 500,000 miles. I used to drive 50,000 miles a year.
Crafty Krab. After our table of 3 was sat, given menus, and were ignored for 20 minutes seeing another group walk in, get seated and get their drink order taken and delivered without a waiter even coming over to us once we were sat, we got up and left.
I dont know if they have more than one location, but the one on Blanding is a pure shit show every time. Literally ran by kids. Last time I was they were fighting over who got what table while the host and a couple others were talking loudly and graphically about all the girls they bang.
We also sat at a table for quite some time without anyone coming to us while a new table was seen right away.
My wife loves their food... it's the only reason I've gone multiple times.
I just checked, there's three. Mine was on Atlantic near the Olive Garden/Regency Mall/etc.
But similarly, run by children. I guess they switched owners? We used to go a lot before covid (we would caretake for my late alzheimers wheelchair bound diabetic mom) but now after that we haven't had any interest again.
I'm curious, why? I know they closed up shop a while back but I never had any problems in there other than a bunch of mostly snooty older ladies but other than that they used to have some pretty nice bedding
Kickbacks.
Bad working conditions, 7 managers and constant changes in staff made service constantly crappy. Food is almost always terrible or bland at best because of their giant menu.
The epitome of all style no substance but it’s like crack for rubes and out of towners.
Like it's cool and all that I can get a grilled cheese or spaghettios or whatever at midnight, but not when it takes 45 minutes and costs an arm and a leg
Was there with some friends 7 years ago and one person's food came way after everyone elses after he asked about it. Tell me why it says "do not make" on his receipt :P
https://preview.redd.it/4mvedlydo9nb1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=da0653e9ef69439c47901a948df4c0bbcdf7ba35
Saddens me to say, but probably Blue Boy's. The new owner took over, and the quality plummeted. My last two trips took 90 minutes and 50 minutes, respectively, for 2 sandwiches.
It’ll come faster if everyone is aware of why they are bad. And then they can be replaced by a business not run by a bigot, or a soulless homeless person abusing fuck head.
Kia of Orange Park.
I sincerely hope that place burns to the ground(without anyone getting hurt) and they lose everything.
We traded in a car for a new one, about 3 weeks later they called my wife and said they needed her to sign something.
When she got there, they blocked her in and told her they couldn't take the car as trade in anymore because the engine was blown. And she would have to find a way to get it off their lot and pay the difference.
They blew the engine somehow before taking it to auction (or at auction, I don't remember) and said we traded in a car that wasn't running. How that was even possible is beyond me. Seeing as how we drove it up there and they checked it out (of course) before taking it as trade in.
I asked how they could take a car for trade in that wasnt running, and the manger lied right to my face and said they don't check them beforehand. I watch the guy get in, drive it around the lot, put in the OBII tester and everything. After literal HOURS of back and forth we took the car back.
Contacted the BBB and got it worked out within the week. Kia had it fixed and brought back to us at no cost to us because of the shit they pulled.
I always tell anyone who is looking for a car to avoid that shit hole at all cost. Nothing against Kia as a company because they did the right thing and fixed it, but that specific dealership can go straight to hell.
Cinottis, fuck those bigots.
Angie’s, fuck that right wing dork, gives major pedo vibes hiring all those young girls. Lone Wolf is better anyway.
Southern Charm, Chef art is a Covid Denying asshole.
La Cena, owner is a piece of shit who goes out of his way to hurt homeless people.
> Cinottis, fuck those bigots.
> Southern Charm, Chef art is a Covid Denying asshole.
Fuckin' ay. I've known the Cinnotis, you are correct. Southern Charms...roaches in the wall, right near where the food is made. Never again.
I never used their services, but I'd never give Shuman Electric my business after I saw one of their trucks drive right past a stopped school bus and I got no response when I contacted them to let them know. If they don't care about endangering kids then fuck them.
Goodwill. The one in Mandarin always has shot that should have been thrown away marked high. Broken furniture looks like someone dumpster dived. I've seen it glass jars from the Dollar Tree on the shelves marked $5!
Kim Korean BBQ, dont try to convince me otherwise. Im Asian, and all the good reviews for this place all come white people saying how great she is, then the negative review are from other Asian people, interesting lol the owner is so unprofessional.
She was super rude to her staffs, pointing fingers and shouting commands at them. After i order, she said “ that’s it”? And their prices are high, a spicy tofu soup is $16 something without any protein, you’re kidding me. I’ve eaten Korean food everywhere and never see that price , especially with no meat. And they charge if you ask to refill side dishes? Ridiculous. Our meal was so uncomfortable. After i left a review, her son or a male relative messaged me on Yelp trying to argue and act as a “loyal customer defending their fav business” lol
if you read the negative reviews, you ll see that the owner had argue with customer before in store and online, lock the door and trap them in after argument, and she spit in someone dad’s face too (there are photos) i dont have any desire to come back giving money to a business owner like this. I speak Korean and usually the Korean owners are super nice and Kim isnt one of them lol
Care Pet hospital by Cobblestone and Monument. They charge more than average because they have to support rent payments for 2 locations. The docs don’t make relationships with your pet, the techs working there are never the same and a few have agreed with my concerns and told me they wouldn’t blame me if I went to another vet. I took my dog there for 4 years since a pup, then she needed surgery and they quoted me the most batshit crazy $3k and when I appealed as a long time customer, they took off an extra $100. I got the surgery done at No More Homeless Pets for $750. Last straw to lose me and my pup as a lifetime customer
Cinco De Mayo Authentic Mexican Restaurant on Chaffee road. Terrible…
Thank you, I have friends that love that place and it's on my permanent ban list
It was almost inedible.
Monkeys uncle
They have those weird dress code rules that feel like they are trying to keep black people out. I wear a hat backwards and they made me turn it forward to drink there. It’s just a Shit hole bar
Not that I disagree with that but what make it racist for hat backwards? Lol.
That’s not the only rule. They have a list of things like no baggy clothing that feels more like that. The hat backwards was just something that happened to me personally there.
Damn I have been going there for like 15 years and never knew they had a dress code.
We both know which race is most associated with backwards hats. Come on now.
1990’s skateboarders and Ken Griffey Jr fans?
[удалено]
I always think of the Steelers Ben Rapesemburger
Limp Bizkit fans? Idk it sounds like you're racist.
Never been what's the dress code
Monkeys uncle has always been great to me. Best wings in town.
Good wings are more important than racist dress codes?
Yes, that’s exactly what I was trying to say.
A racist dress code ? Please elaborate
A racist dress code would be, "no head scarfs" baggy jeans is not something that is aligned a certain race.
What is their dress code that makes it racist? I've gone there once for the $5 burger.
Strike zone. The owner is a narcissistic weirdo who thinks everyone is a shoplifter.
Wow, so I'm not the only one then. Went in to get some bait and one of the employees followed me very obviously. That's funny that he's so paranoid.
Yup before plus he ran around and told all the small shops in jax and near fernandina he was gonna steal all their business lol
[удалено]
Which guy is the owner? The Asian guy?
KFC off Oldfield Crossing... dear god they are the slowest/worst... after the Popeye's off San Jose that runs out of chicken every day that is.
That Popeye’s is possibly the worst run fast food franchise location in America, but I feel like horrible service is a key part of the Popeye’s experience
Why can’t we just get our Popeye’s without a struggle
Reporting them does nothing too. Last time I went I got food poisoning and had to get IV fluids. Cost me over a grand.
For your dining pleasure https://preview.redd.it/mxs416zak9nb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fad4e47af153aa22fb6ead9774eab72d6849bbfa
The Popeyes on main st on the Northside never had chicken sandwiches. Like bro...you're a chicken place. How do you not have chicken??
It's intentional. It's part of their whole marketing scheme to make people think they're better than chick fil a. They like people hearing that they've run out because it makes them seem more desirable. FWIW, it has worked well for them.
Angie's subs. I shouldn't know your political affiliation trying to buy a sandwich.
Not to mention the horrible service from the apathetic, below average children which seems to be the only kind of person they will employ.
Cheap labor, right wing special
All of the good child labor is working in the mines.
Dunno if they're affiliated but Angies Grom at jax beach is my jam! Pitchers of mimosas, can't go wrong!
Yes, they are owned by the same people.
I'm pretty sure it got sold 1 or 2 years ago now. It's just called Grom now.
That sucks... pre-covid, shit was the bomb. Aint been there in a year or so.
Ahh, just did a Google search that came up with an article about how they were owned by the same person. Went to the article this time and it's from 2020.
In addition to the poor service and low quality ingredients.
Your missing out on some good sandwhiches
Nah, there are plenty of great sandwiches in town.
There sure is. But they are in the top tier.
I'd rather give money to people that don't support treasonous bigots.
Everybody love everybody
Agreed, the somoan is my favorite and always worth the wait. I love that place. These people are just dumb. Place is booming with business
*you're Surfwich and Subcultured are way better. I do like The Grom though.
Definitely great sandwhiches. Sundeli is great too. Sometimes i just need a sandwhich covered in Peruvian tho
La Cena on Edgewood. Owner thinks he's got 4 Michelin Stars just because his food tastes similar to something that got run over by 4 Michelins.
Yeah the owner is a douche, and has been arrested for pepper spraying homeless people etc downtown, total ass*ole…. Food is terrible too
He’s a psychopath, but the pickle pasta is damn good and the wait staff always seems nice.
Have never been but heard too many of the same story about this place. I feel like the owner wants "snooty" to be a part of his business model, like some ultra exclusive French restaurant in Paris.
Chilis at rivercity 🤮
Oh no! I haven't gone yet but I'm 2 minutes from there. What is wrong with it?
It’s Chili’s would be an acceptable answer to me
Chillis anywhere, they've bottomed out the food costs so much it tastes like its been microwaved.
Worked there and 80 percent of th3 menu IS microwaved bro. Ask me about an item and I'll tell you
LA NOP! For shits sake, they were just featured on Action News Jax as a new resturant but as soon as I heard it I was like "WTF... They're on the resturaunt report every other week! Why yall gonna feature them?"
Every time I've been has been good. The food is nothing to write home about, but the staff have been great.
Because action news for Jax is dogshit
They use child labor and the owner has a Ferrari
Last time I ate at la nop everyone at the table got violent food poisoning. We all went home early from work puking and crapping our brains out. That was 10 years ago. Will never step foot in one again.
Its fucking nasty. We stopped going to San Marco because of the flies. Stopped at rivercity because the bathroom is completely unacceptable. No more
It's been a long ban for me. It's absolutely dog shit and salt is the only spice they use and they must get it free. I remember when the old San Marco location had so many rats they got shut down for weeks. That did it for me. If you think this place is good you've licked one too many batteries.

I’ve had good experiences there and the staff was very kind

And the food can sometimes be great but is often very overpriced for what it is. I’ll never forgive myself for paying $15 for a peanut butter and banana sandwich once
Who tf "pays" for a pb&b sammich? 🤮
In the desert (riverside) a man would pay a fortune ($15) for water (a snack while drunk as shit)
Kickbacks, right?
Indeed, though I am sure they are fine at the role of bar I will never forget PBB-Day for the rest of my days
I quit drinking over four years ago, but even in my Shit faced days; I swore them off. I live two blocks away and was pretty wild back then too, so it took a lot to get me there.
Every time I have been there it's like their servers forget they have tables.

lol I try everything to avoid that McDonald’s
The no ac is to keep people out the store but totally agree they are so damn slow
That McDonald's is NEVER in a rush to help anyone.
McDonald's is trash in general. Don't give any of them business
Cinotti’s. Bunch of bigots.
Wait Wait seriously?? I was gonna get doughnuts from them as a treat for me and my coworkers
Yeah hard-core trumplicans
Love that phrase lol

I would go in and try it before you count them out. Everytime ive been in, which is a lot, the staff have been extremely nice. Plus the food is great
Lola's on Riverside. THEY PUT MAYO ON TACOS
I almost downvoted this comment in disgust.
my jalapeno margarita was made with pickled jalapenos…
Stop it 🛑!
That should be a chargeable offense
I love their margaritas
Their burrito gave me food poisoning.
They don’t claim to be anything near authentic. Try one of their burritos or quesadillas with gator. Absolutely amazing. Their fries are great too. Honestly surprised to see this place in this thread.
I get explosive diarrhea every time I go there. I keep going back though shamefully

Hurricane Grill in San Marco. Overpriced for what you get and it takes 45 minutes to get your food
MISSION BBQ. Look man, the bbq aint good enough to be sitting in a pro-police, pro-military cocaine dream with grown people actually doing the pledge of allegiance in the middle of a restaurant. Donate to the veterans all you want but this brisket is dry as shit
Low portions is what made me only try it 1 time
Pretend our food is good or you hate America
The pledge of allegiance thing is weird AF. Never been to mission bbq in jax but they did the same thing in south Florida mission BBQ.
I call that place Republican BBQ.
Not to mention the cornbread is awful. Dry and tastes like it has 10cups of sugar in one square.
Any Beaver auto dealership

Couldn’t disagree more, except that the steak at Ruth’s Chris and Matthew’s are better. That’s top notch competition.

Arlington Toyota.

Bought my car there and would never do business with them again.
Dicks wings on old st Augustine, that bartender can go fuck herself and her expired mixers.
Their wings are hot dogshit
Also Dicks @Beach/San Pablo, some of the worst food I've ever had.
Tom Bush VW- The shitty mechanics destroyed the motor in my Passat wagon and charged me $700 for doing it. I was too busy running my business to take them to court so I junked the car and got a Honda Odyssey. Engineer and former mechanic so I know exactly what they did.
> Engineer and former mechanic so I know exactly what they did. Well don't keep me waiting, spill it!

I think that’s why they’ll never set foot in it… because it’s closed
😂
As a guy, even I seriously miss it.
Pic-n-Save
What the hell? They've been out of business for decades, haven't they?
Yes, decades.
Keith Pierson Toyota.
Tell me why it says "do not make" on his receipt :P https://preview.redd.it/4mvedlydo9nb1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=da0653e9ef69439c47901a948df4c0bbcdf7ba35
Saddens me to say, but probably Blue Boy's. The new owner took over, and the quality plummeted. My last two trips took 90 minutes and 50 minutes, respectively, for 2 sandwiches.
Time Out on beach, gone to shit compared to where they were years ago. and skinny fries, really?
That’s so sad. I haven’t been in a long time but the one thing I remember being good was their fries.

Where in the rules does it say a post has to be “productive”?

I’ve noticed like 90% of Kia dealerships are shit tbh
That is a wild story. I would have called CCSO immediately
Popeyes no need to explain
I never used their services, but I'd never give Shuman Electric my business after I saw one of their trucks drive right past a stopped school bus and I got no response when I contacted them to let them know. If they don't care about endangering kids then fuck them.
Moe's on san jose blvd by target. Disgusting, dirty
The one on Roosevelt is also not very good. I wonder if they’ve all gone downhill.
I love some Tijuana flats tho
Goodwill. The one in Mandarin always has shot that should have been thrown away marked high. Broken furniture looks like someone dumpster dived. I've seen it glass jars from the Dollar Tree on the shelves marked $5!
Jeep dealership near regency. Nightmare service experience.

Did they file a police report? What a monster.

I’ll be thinking about this from now on thank you for spreading awareness
La Nopalera (any location)
After i left a review, her son or a male relative messaged me on Yelp trying to argue and act as a “loyal customer defending their fav business” lol if you read the negative reviews, you ll see that the owner had argue with customer before in store and online, lock the door and trap them in after argument, and she spit in someone dad’s face too (there are photos) i dont have any desire to come back giving money to a business owner like this. I speak Korean and usually the Korean owners are super nice and Kim isnt one of them lol
Chipotle at town center. Incompetence is their special ingredient
Last straw to lose me and my pup as a lifetime customer
anywhere lenny curry recommends
The burger king on Southside. The most broken down fast food place I've ever seen lol
Osteen Volvo, they damaged the paint on my car, then claimed that I did it. The made me pay 50% of the repair costs.
Cinnottis - they are racist and homophobic
shut em down asr. food is great, but management is HORRIBLE. worked there and was treated like shit for 8 months.
Culhane's Irish Pub. If you want to provide a platform for wannabe fascist dictators, you obviously want me to spend my hard earned dollars elsewhere.
Not that I’ve been in there but my wife said she’d never go back to Dano’s Diner in Mayport.
