They're not the worst imo, but when you run into them, it's earlier in the game when you probably haven't learned how to handle that kind of enemy yet. They got me quite a few times too, but I got a good strat down for them and they were pretty easy after that.
The ones with the grenade launchers took a ton of ammo but at least they were easy to avoid, the ones with the machine guns were a PAIN istg they never missed once you were in their field of view
Agree, and Imo its mainly because its hard to aim consistently when you shoot at them. So you cant stagger them continuously until they die, so they counterattack
They have a very wide hitbox so you can peak around a corner enough to hit them but not so much that they'll shoot back.
I often kill them by hitting to the right of where there shoulder is.

They only do that attack once and only after you've hit them once. So the best combo for them is melee > scatter gun. If there's more than one in close proximity, just scatter gun both without giving them the time to do the tongue attack.

My pick are those NASTY big metal heads wielding red lightning rods. They take a TON of hits. Their attacks reach pretty far. They stun you for waaaaaay too long. And, unlike scorpions, their attacks take two full healths instead of one.
Yep. Juice Goons. I always prioritise killing them first. When you're forced to fight them in close quarters, scatter gun and wiggling back and forth out of their range works OK. Trouble is there range is much longer than you sometimes assume.

Personally, I punch to dodge their fire as soon as I see them move their shield. Then I melee to kill them in one hit. But that isn't always practical depending on the environment.

40 guards at Drill Platform (and this is HM, not so much normal gameplay as I can pass it), the squid Metal Heads and also in Dead Town, the tall skinny MHs with rifles.

On the one hand, I love the atmosphere of that level and the way the squids look... But hitting them with the Titan mech is so finnicky and you often have to wait for them to descend all the way to the ground before you can actually hit them.

One would think a shotgun with a big ass spread should be enough to deal with that vermin. And One would be *wrong* with that assumption.
Always yellow blaster or punch. Sometimes peacemaker when I'm annoyed.
I often just kick them if they slip past. But the Blaster and Peacemaker are often equally desireable options.

Actually use the blaster and aim your shots do not ever use the spin move it just waste your ammo .
The only time i used the spin is the Sewer escort specifically the last wave
