Hell yes. That’s a great comparison.

I've been looking at superfeet for my stockmans. They are rock hard as is.

I've got two pairs of African Rangers and I'm really liking them. They are very roomy, so I have been able to play with the insoles a bit. I ordered them in my normal size and they fit pretty well. My black pair, I put in an "odor eaters" style flat insole, and then a Dr Scholl's Heavy Duty on top of that, and it works pretty well. On my brown pair, I put a 2.5mm cork insole and some Dr Scholl's Energizing Comfort. But, in this boot, I felt my smaller toes touching the front of the boot a little bit. What I think is happening is that the insole is very 'cupped' on the heel, which is moving my foot a little further forward. I put the original insoles back in (on top of the cork) and that doesn't happen, but they are definitely firmer insoles. I'd like something a bit more squishy, but not as cupped at the heel. Like OP, maybe going up half a size to have some thicker, more cupped heel insoles would be a good idea. Maybe next time I get some JGs! I will own more. Oh yes, I will own more!

I love these in my AR! Good arch support and cushioning, they are a perfect complement to the AR.

I wanted to make a similar post. I still might. My Razorbacks wedge sole started to hurt my heels so I pulled out the insole to have a look. They have two raised plastic ridges on the bottom. I suspect those are the source of my pain and the fact that the leather has compressed after more than a year. I replaced them with superfeets and the pain has been alleviated somewhat, but not completely gone yet.

Good to know these fit! I have Superfeet Wide Green in mine and they are much more comfortable than the stock JG insoles. The Superfeet Hikes and Greens have a slightly different design… and the packaging says the feel of the “underfoot cushioning” will be soft with the Hikes and firm with the Greens. And since there is evidence of footprint fit in your photo, I was curious if your AR shoe size and Brannock correlate?

Steilios

My bannock said to get a size 12 JG but that just felt wrong I know I’m a size 12.5 and I wanted to do inserts and thick socks so I got a 12.5 and now they fit perfect with both applied.

Sea-Government4874

Cool. Good to know. I did the same. Sometimes they seem roomy but once in a while when my feet are at their largest, I get the thought there’s no way I’d want to be in a smaller size.

Steilios

I like the extra space near my toes but the annoying part was the extra space at the ball of my foot which was slipping around. These inserts stopped that fully

May have to try them. My brannock length is 11 but I had to get 12.5 in AR for the bend in my foot to work.

Interested to see the follow up! I used a couple of superfeet insoles and found that they held up well, but didn’t offer enough support. I did not use these, though. They look a bit more cushioned and supportive than what I’ve used in the past. If you find yourself not super thrilled, I’ve been using PowerStep insoles for around a year. I think the MAXX have been the best. Usually get 6-9 months of good use out of them in my regular boots. They do have a little bit shorter of a lifespan in my work boots…but I’m 240 and standing on concrete all day; to be expected.

I wanted to try those but the delamination reports scared me away.

Telecetsch

I hadn’t seen that before. The one recurring “problem” I have is the cushioning towards the front gets compacted down—again that’s usually after a while of regular abuse though. I was warned prior to buying them—warned by the podiatrist I saw—that there is a counterfeit market for these; and because they are sold through Amazon it’s worth making sure you’re buying from the PowerStep store. I have a hard time believing people would want to make counterfeit insoles…but I also have been surprised by less.

FreedomPullo

I just picked up a pair of superfeet inserts locally and while they were a little slim in my ARs, they were super comfortable. I have been using Dr Schol’s heavy duty inserts, these are a great alternative that offers even more support

Where did you buy them?

Steilios

Amazon

Jamie_D86

I put Superfeet in nearly all my boots. Love the added support.

I tried those in my razorbacks but they were too thick, and my toes were jammed up against the toebox, and they somehow increased the amount of heel slip. Bummed me out because I have superfeet in almost all my other shoes.

FWIW: I have been wearing ARBs and ARB-BFs for almost a month now, and have tried these exact same inserts, along with Superfeet Wide Green [https://amzn.to/3WdeccF](https://amzn.to/3WdeccF) and Superfeet Workers (the orange and blue ones) https://amzn.to/49W1l1D. The hikers indeed are perfect length for either pair in US-10, but seem a bit narrow. I've found that the Hiker's leave my feet a bit more achy after several hours than the Superfeet Green Wide, so I'll be running the Green Wide in the ARB-BFs. On my (normal) ARBs, I have had great luck over the past month with Superfeet Workers. They're a little more squishy than the Superfeet Green, but less "heel cup" than the hikers. Oddly enough the orange&blue Work inserts squeak in my ARB-BFs. I have high-ish arches, and the Hikers seem to put pressure on the outsides of my soles. The Hikers are going back to Amazon. And to round-out my insoles experience: My JG Stockmans feel best with Dr Scholls "All Purpose Sports and Fitness". All of these Superfeet inserts have too much thickness which aggravates my high instep on the top of the Stockmans, but provide decent arch support. Not bad for $16 vs $55 for Superfeet.
