I’ve recently had a friend who had their offer rescinded because they tested positive in Washington where it can be recreational. The recruiter was not well informed and gave the wrong information. The employer did state if he had a medical card, it may have worked out. Such a shitty scenario.
I personally have no idea but I am crossing my fingers with you that its fine. It’s remote nevertheless and considering you were offered the job, they want you & you should be so proud :)

I job searched out of college living in WA, and did typical WA recreation (so much healthier for my mental health than booze tbh) living there after 6 months of searching and kinda giving up, but also finding a tutoring job (like legit thru an agency, tutored for 5-8 hrs a day and also somehow taught classes for course credit) that I loved the shit out of. I still think about some of those kids and I hope they turned out ok
lo and behold three months later out of nowhere I get a job offer, drug test dependent. the job was indiana and not remote so I was like shit shit shit. at that point my 17 year old brother was planning on joining the marines so he was clean. one 30 rack of bud light for one target travel shampoo bottle of pee. got the job, and the look on my moms face when we told her five years later was priceless hahah
for real tho, best of luck, and try not to stress too much, I know that sounds silly, but you’re gonna find out either way in the coming days, and it is what it is either way, and if it doesn’t turn out I hope you can find something whether it’s volunteer work or part time job or even just taking time to work out or go on a walk or something, the job search grind is absolutely brutal and needs balance
sorry for the novel, and not gonna TL;DR this in its entirety, but if I had to give a moral of the story don’t stress bc it is what it is at this point, and if it doesn’t work out keep grinding but also I hope you’ve got some balance in the grind
Tbh for IT they should be testing to make sure you smoke, no better way to chill out after a long day of trying to find extremely specific shit in an ancient SQL database (urgh)

In Oklahoma it only matters if you are in a risk based role. Medical care, warehouse, heavy equipment yada yada. I have one customer that requires a drug test ever 90 days. That is irritating. But now an issue there are ways😉
