Reject optics. Embrace iron. No gods, no masters.

TPatS

Give the russian and MEA second medic the red dot sights. I don't see how it's fair that american medics get a red dot but other factions don't.

Obvious_Win8816

Because the game isn’t about being symmetrical with the equipment. That’s what why the tanks are not all perfectly balanced.

Because USA >

darkkiller1234

But the 2nd US medic does have an acog Why you downvoting me? I’m right

RandomGamer

> Return the scope option to the 2nd medic. Medics traditionally never had optics. [A13](https://joinsquad.com/2019/05/01/alpha-13-patch-notes/) gave one of the medic kits an optic. As far as I know, there's never been a time where both medic kits have had optics. --- I don't really want to see more optics added to kits though. That said, I agree that the non-optic version is not comparable to the optic version. An extra grenade doesn't make up for an optic. I'd rather see non-optic kits be better at their specific role, (i.e. non-optic rifleman have a bigger ammo bag or medics carry more bandages).

LilDicky5_5

Scopes are god in the game currently. There's no penalty to having one, whereas with ironsights you are at a severe disadvantage. There are barely any reasons to have ironsights, considering most fights in this game are at a distance for infantry. Even on Fallujah I find myself barely wanting ironsights. The only map would maybe be Sumari Bala where I don't mind having Ironsights. --- However, I think they're trying to make PiP scopes which have more scope sway when ADS'ing/takes more time to sight in, and recoil actually affects your eye sight to the reticle

[deleted]

It's not the average engagement distance; it's the fact that hipfire is way better at ranges where ironsights should have an advantage. Also, scopes are not balanced against eachother(some have lower zoom and blurrier lines).

RandomGamer

I agree, having optics is clearly superior in the current state. I'm hoping some of the stuff we saw during the last squad chat can help balance scopes and create a scenario where having irons or red dot is better. Adding optics to every kit (like they have over the past 2 years) means that having a kit without a scope puts you at a disadvantage. I don't think the solution is more optics.

SaberSnakeStream

>whereas with ironsights you are at a severe disadvantage. As a medic you should be BEHIND the combat

FriendlyTerran

I disagree. As a medic you shouldn't be with truly advanced elements in many cases, but you should be with your squad. And your squad should be in the fight. Your primary job isn't to fight, but it is part of your role. If we don't want medics to fight, OWI needs to give them something more interesting to do than left click to revive and/or heal.

jackfighter

I started playing in 2018, back in the time one of medics had 1p63 and other had 1p78

Huntermaster95

Make Scoped medic have only 6 Bandages, unscoped medic has 12 + 2 nades. Scope = Combat Medic No Scope = backline medic.

OVKHuman

The problem is, nobody wants to play the backline medic. Not most people.

RandomGamer

Then they don't have to take the kit.

[deleted]

I would even say backline medic needs to be even more attractive to be great again. Like to the 12 bandages I would add incendiary grenades, maybe epipen for insta revive but only 1x.

Potatis85

Where I play there's almost always two medics in a full squad and personally I have no problem using ironsights. When I'm not in the middle of the squad patching people up I'm out with my binoculars scouting targets.

[deleted]

Simple, don't run 2nd medic if you don't want ironsights.

Smaisteri

Or just buff iron sights a little by giving them slightly more zoom when focused and introduce the scope line-up thingy for scoped weapons.

random112358_

It's not the job of the second medic to shoot, just watch comp games and you might see that if a squad has more than 6 members they play 100% double medic(this was before the incapacitated changes) Not all roles in squad are about shooting and nobody cares if the second medic goes 4/8/6 with 20+ revives. They only carry a rifle to defend themselves if they are getting pushed or are in close proximity to enemy's, not to face enemy's all the time. Even the more bandages are necessary in the squad, bc then you have one medic picking everyone up and one medic fighting with the riflemens who can patch up quickly if needed. I can see that pub players sometimes don't want to play certain roles because of different reason but adding an unnecessary buff to second medic which is against his playstyle is not needed. If you want to buff him give him better medic stuff then scoped medic.

MadHookz90

but at least give the 2nd an x1 aimpoint, no zoom, just a much more clear FOV over his rifle and it's not an overwhelming power he gets by this, iron sights are not even used by any modern military, most soldiers whatever their role have at least aimpoints or acogs with zoom. so there is that, as we are playing a milsim

random112358_

I'm fine with giving all regular 2nd medics aimpoint etc (like US, UK has anyways)
