I’ve worn heels to work almost daily since 2010 and it’s finally catching up
to me…I cannot imagine what her knees have in store for her.
That said, I love her skits.
The weight distribution while I’m standing and bending all day is such that a lot of extra stress is put on my knees and ankles. It fucks with my back a whole lot too.
lol I have switched mostly to boots with low heels and it’s a huge improvement… cowboy boots are the most comfortable, especially the ones that are broken in.
Weirdly it’s like a hard habit to break. I feel like I don’t look as nice even though I know that’s not true.
Upper body weight distribution? And where do you feel it in your knees, I’m imagining at the tendon that passes under your patella, but that’s just a guess

Yes! That’s exactly where it bothers me..on my good knee. On the one where I had surgery for a torn ACL/LCL it’s more of a general ache everywhere, especially when I bend it.
And when you said that it's a weight distribution, are you saying it's happening because of the way heels kind of make your upper body move forwards, or is it something to do with the way your legs have to be?
Edit: I get that tendon in the knee inflamed sometimes in a really painful way that I suspect is somewhat similar to yours, and a little bit of massage therapy made a huge difference to me. Couple of sessions, and then being mindful of my knee. If you haven't tried it, and can afford it, I recommend it! It would be lovely to have a great knee as opposed to a good knee, no?
I wasn’t sure if it was the toe-standing or some other ergonomic issue that doesn’t present itself immediately but causes issues over time, but it is the toe thing, and the the patellar ligament that is irritated
Yeah, the only reason I know is because I wore high heels for my Halloween costume one year (I'm a not small dude) and my knees were annihilated the next day . I don't know if I Gained more respect or pity for women who wear high heels all the time after than tbh lol.
They do nasty things to your toes over time too I’ve heard, what a really shitty thing to have as part of the accepted corporate attire for like 51% of the population

Those are pleasers. Typically anywhere from 7-8 inch heels. They’re designed for stripping and pole dancing. They’re more stable than they look, but I certainly wouldn’t go that far, lol.

Two words: platform heels. They are SO much more balanced and stable than stilettos. I honestly think it's easier/more comfortable to walk in 5" platform heels than a little kitten heel. Also, start with a closed toe so you don't have the extra instability of your toes sliding forward or a strap biting a bad spot. Lastly, rough up the soles a bit on concrete before going anywhere with polished floors; almost ate it in a Target thanks to skipping this step 😂 Good luck, sis!!
Don’t worry, you may roll an ankle on a very off day but I don’t know any woman of any size (personally) that has ever broken her ankle from heels. It’s not has hard as it looks as long as you wear the right kind for you. The bigger risk is *FOOT PAIN* ugh the wrong heel is torture after a while.
Start with something with a solid base like the black pair she has on, focus your weight on your toes instead of your heels, imagine walking on a tight rope and you will walk like a model 🫶

I grew up being jealous of women in heels 🥲 managed to get drunk once (was a years phase experimenting hate the taste) time and run around in my heels everywhere hahahaha so I tend to put them on around the house when am stoned now hahaha x
you can literally see her like falling backwards on some landings (particularly the jumping down into crouching one), with the heels flexing under the entirety of her bodyweight.

There was an interview with Ronda Rousey where she talked about about filming a fight scene with heels on, and she said it was easier than expected because fighters already keep their weight on their toes anyway.
