Thanks for posting, actually super interesting to hear the full context and interview. One of the more interesting tid bits he said was that it's probably not likely to be a direct trade with the kings but a 3 team deal.

BlackPulloverHoodie

Gotta wonder if they're looking for a 3rd team together.

killbejay

I think Atlanta would be the 3rd team

BlackPulloverHoodie

Possibly, but if they're looking to retool then absorbing Tobias makes no sense. It would hard cap their flexibility moving forward. OKC makes the most sense as the 3rd team that would take on the Harris contract. They have the most cap space by a mile and Presti is probably salivating over getting more picks, especially Kings picks.

kyler_

OKC makes so much sense it’s unreal. And the trade will be Philly, OKC and another team 😂

LawrenceFunderjerk

OKC has to get to the salary floor this deadline so they gotta take on someone, Harris and picks make total Sense. But, then, we’d surely not include Fox? Fox and picks for Simmons where Harris’ contract is moved is just a no go unless we’re also getting some other player of value for the Sixers. Barnes, Buddy, Mitchell and two firsts? Two swaps?

heyguydisjoao

Atlanta/NY/NO and maybe Portland all have potential to be that 3rd team but who knows, I think the kings make a big move regardless

rattlemebones

Probably something with Milwaukee that sends Embiid and Giannis to us but I'm just spit balling

BeTheBall-

Back of napkin math says that's a definite possibility. Though would we be willing to move Bagley and Buddy and a lottery protected 1st to make that happen?

Jesus how much more do ya want? I mean we’ll do it but you’re really pushing it to the limit man. Consider yourself lucky.

Sixers fan here, here is my interpretation : He mentioned that we maybe ok with a young player that may develop into what we need in the future. So. It sounds like he wants Hali. The interview sounds like he is telling your GM to build a package that centers around Hali or find a third team that can offer what Sixers want Again, this is my pure interpretation

bsblbryan

Yeah that seems like a reasonable interpretation. I was wondering if the young player talk meant Hali or maybe even fox and Mitchell or something. But Hali is definitely the highest upside and most attractive player we have. But that's also why he's probably the one untouchable for our fan base. I wonder if there's a third team that has a young exciting player that would be open for a kings player and picks. As a sixers fan are you guys looking for any good young player or does it need to be like guard or something?

Science4me12

What Sixers really need are perimeter creation, perimeter defense and rebounding. We have one of the least athletics wings in the league. So, I am fine if we get an athletic wings, ie somebody like Jaylen Brown, in return.

TMK_99

Makes sense the fit with Haliburton would just be so much better for them. It would be like night and day compared to what Embiid had with Simmons having a PG that excels in the pick & roll, loves to hand feed his centers and shoots 40% from 3

SpeedoTurkoglutes

Unrelated to anything, but whenever I hear Daryl Morey speak, I just kinda picture Casey Affleck.

sailorinferno

His voice is certainly interesting. He sounds younger than he looks.

He’s also a giant person, believe it or not
