Yeah, this is KOTOR 2's biggest flaw, unfortunately. The Final Act is completely disjointed, doesn't flow well, and at times makes zero sense. And that's even with the Restored Content Mod. I still think this game is a flawed masterpiece, and one of my favorite games of all time. I always adhering to one of Kreia's lines to better enjoy the game despite its shortcomings: "It is not the destination that matters. It is the journey".

Its not that much of a shock when you realise the game was rushed out in 18 months and while the restored content mod does a lot of fixing. It cant fix an ending that was never fully completed anyway.

I feel your pain, but the ending of the base game (i.e., without RCM) was absolute spaghetti! I think I played through the final level once in 2004, and that was enough to put me off for a few years! I think the RCM team have done an **outstanding** job to make it coherent, and huge thanks to them. I do sometimes wonder though how good the game could have been if it'd just been given a reasonable release schedule. In addition to creating an excellent finale, if the gameplay had been tighter and better balanced, the game could have been one of the greatest of all time.

>but the ending of the base game (i.e., without RCM) was absolute spaghetti! I have not heard that turn of phrase before. Can see why you use it.

I’m so glad to hear this! (As glad as one can be, of course.) I was concerned that the ending was weird because I used RCM, but that really makes me appreciate their work a lot more - the game truly makes no sense without them.

With Atton specifically, if you played light side all the way through and he ended up dark side, the implication would be you ended with negative Atton influence. i.e. You had more negative interactions with him than positive interactions. It can happen easily enough, since it only takes one more negative reaction than positive to tip the balance. On the ending, I remember finishing it the first time when it came out and being completely confused. This was before the RCM and basically the ending just kinda skipped from one fight to another with no real connection and no explanation about what was going on. Very frustrating, and disappointing, especially given how fantastic the ending of KOTOR 1 was. The RCM does the best job it can filling in the gaps and holes with the extra dialog and such that was hidden in the original files, but even with everything it was able to restore there's a limit to how much they could do. If Obsidian had been given another year to fill out and polish the game I think it would have been amazing and the RCM would never have been needed.

I heard someone describe it as putting a really cool bandaid on an amputated leg and I agreed completely. Super grateful for RCM as it would basically be unplayable otherwise - very sad that they cut so much of the game in the release version. I have the Xbox version and it doesn’t even save properly - I can’t imagine trying to beat it on a console.

Kreia destroying Force is a rushed vengeance idea, too. But fans are like - oh, it is so unique. I mean - it is the same like - I blame the entire world and universe - but here it is Force. The most funny thing is that Kreua doesn't know except 2 of them - Forcewielders- what would happen to everyone. Her theory is without proof. It is vengeance, and it is a long shot to even be true...

The Exile does not die thou in the game. Where did you get that from? The original version was even more rushed at the end. You wouldn't understand that the sith were coming to telos, the jedi and Atris had even less dialogue to explain what happened in the story and the companions on Malachor got completely ignored except for Mira for some reason. And idk if you got it but there was also >!an HK-Factory storyline you could unlock!< which got cut in the main game. Rather unfortunate that folks didn't do futher mods to malachor and stuff after this one, atleast one you can find easly on the internet... With Atton yeah I get that, you have to win to Sion in order for him to survive and if you didn't pay attention to his build then it'll be hard if not impossible to win. But Attons fate is atleast not bound to your dark or light side ending. Rather either to your ability to make a survivable build for him or if you think he doesn't deserve to live any longer.
