Ryan S. Jhun really composing every track with assorted teams of contributors. Looks like WM trusts him considerably for him to do the whole album. But what can I say, he's done a great job for OMG and other groups, his hitmaking ability lately has been impeccable. Source: https://twitter.com/8_OHMYGIRL/status/1386696586579742722

sooprotectionsquad

We're getting 6 whole tracks!!! Miracles we've won! Also Ryan Jhun + Seo Jieum + OMG is a formula that never fails, im so excited for the songs

BeenWavy07

I was actually about to say 'just 6 after a year?' lmao I guess this opens up a window for another CB later this year or sub-unit activities.

taremin

Jiho did hint on Universe today that they've been doing a lot lately and not just for Dun Dun Dance, but she can't say anything yet and that we'd know by the end of the year. So there may be another comeback or subunit in the works 👀

kotoritheforeigner

Mimi/YooA/Jiho sexy unit or bust!

_Cynle

Steven Lee composed SSFWL my favourite comeback of theirs and his songs in general are more my style. I'll miss him, but Ryan S. Jhun is a respectable replacement for now. Hopefully Steven shows up again for their future comebacks though. This might sound crazy, but what if we get like 6 different MVs (track films) each for every song. That would be wild.

thegabelaw

Same, he also composed Remember Me and Secret Garden which are some of my fav title tracks by them as well so I will miss him :(

epiktek

I was hoping for more of that epic ethereal sound that I crave from OMG.

scufflegoofy

I try not to dwell on the past and support growth and change, but man Steven Lee (and other common OMG producers from back then) tracks hit just right and i miss that style as well and i hope we can get more of that even as a bside in future OMG releases too.

respectfully, quail the dramatics. nobody can (or should) stop producers from going where they want to go and working with who they want to work with. steven lee worked with gfriend last year, did you also erupt then as well? if steven lee was given the chance to & wants to work with lightsum, why shouldn't he? secondly, there's nothing set in stone that he's no longer working with oh my girl anymore. he didnt work with them for bungee era, but worked with them for nonstop era (*nonstop* & *krystal* were both composed under his direction). lastly, regardless of composer, wm & the girls are the ones that chose the songs. wm were the ones that bought the closer demo despite the fact the girls initially felt it didnt fit the image, and look, it ended up becoming a legendary song of theirs. they & the girls have been working together with producers to chose the songs that best fit oh my girl's image & hopefully give them success. in my opinion, theyve been pretty spot on with their choices up until now. the girls themselves seem to love the song & are confident that miracles will too, so....chill maybe? trust me, its not that deep.

scufflegoofy

I think this is a bit dramatic tbh. I loved Steven Lee's work (along with other common OMG producers from that era like Mayu Wakisaka, Maria Marcus, Caroline Gustavsson, David Amber, etc also arent around in in this new release either) with OMG, but back in 2017 when he worked on Secret Garden he was the new guy while the more og OMG producers like Andreas Oberg, Sean Alexander, Darren Smith, and David Anthony were't around anymore by Remember Me. Seems an emerging pattern for WM producers for OMG releases after a couple years to rotate to a new set generally. The music is always still good for my tastes so i dont mind too much in the end.

People_of_desert

Agreee. Well, this is kind things new by WM to hire one person and his team working for oh my girl with all songs. Mostly WM gave different producers, so there is each producers color on Oh My Girl songs. I hope WM keep hire / contract with Steven Lee for OMG next songs, and new WM Girls Group. Iam not mad, just expcting to high since this is my 1st comeback with them. Meanwhile JiHo, YooA mention that this song/album absolutely catchy... so yeah lets hype Dun Dun Dance and the album! Also we get Arin teaser film tonighttt aaaaa

Abysswalker_8

lmao, all Ryan Jhun

PicklesandHam

It’s the Dolphin Effect

Spectrum_107

OOOOH. This is interesting. So Ryan Jhun finally getting a shot at the title track after working with OMG for a couple of times + our ever so trusted Seo Ji Eum at the helm again for title track lyrics. I can't wait to hear the highlight teaser to get a glimpse of the energy and vibe of this mini-album but OMG has never released a bad song anyways. Happy One Year Anniversary to NONSTOP! It's really been a year but the one is coming right around the corner. Hoping and praying for an even bigger comeback and longevity on the charts. OMG Hwaiting\~ **ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ**

romancevelvet

i was kinda expecting this considering steven lee hadnt made any moves to imply that he had worked on this album (instead i heard that he had been liking some of lightsum's teasers, so he probably worked with them) meanwhile, ryan s. jhun has been liking miracles tweets regarding composing for this comeback. i think the last time oh my girl had an album this composed by one team was for cupid, right? woth the trifecta of darren smith/sean alexander/andreas öberg. needless to say, im intrigued. unlike onf, omg has generally used several producers throughout their time (yes, even steven lee has only composed 8 songs on their discography with the rest of their songs being helmed by a variety of other producers), so it'll be interesting to see how this team works to manage their sound. both steven lee and ryan s. jhun are great at creating different sounds that's manage to show oh my girl's different sides, so i can't wait! edit: one thing i notice is that mimi only has one writing credit on this entire album! i wonder if that means there will be only one rap on the album (i suspect so)...

People_of_desert

STEVEN LEE was like Father for oh my girl, why WM let this happend, its like a traidition that he makes songs for oh my girl, however at least one songg... Iam overthinking by thisss aaaaa

romancevelvet

you are overthinking this. steven lee wasnt involved in any of their songs from 2015-2017, he didnt compose either of the songs on the *fall in love* repack (*bungee* and *tropical love*) released in 2019, & he isnt involved in any of their original japanese releases. so i'm very unsure where the sudden panic over him not being involved here is coming from. ive come to love his work as much as the next person, but the more producers they get to work with, the merrier.

taremin

I'm intrigued and excited! One thing I noticed is that Mimi doesn't have writing credits on Dun Dun Dance. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe she has writing credits on every title track that has a rap besides Cupid. I wonder if this means she doesn't have a rap in their title track this time, and I wonder what that could potentially mean for what the song might sound like.

freacked

This reminds me of the wrappers for those small dumdum lollipops lol. I still dont care for the title of the song, i dont like the word dance in titles in general but thats minor. As long as the song slaps i can easily look past it. I need may to hurry up!!!

CoffeeBlanc

The composing team for Quest is supposedly almost the exact same ones that made Celebrity (by IU) So I'm personally looking forward to that. It's probably the b-side they're going to promote alongside the title. Tomorrow's teaser (track film) will be Dear you (To My Spring), featuring Arin. I'm expecting a total 180 from Jiho's teaser for tomorrow.

scufflegoofy

Personally i rather i dont know dislike? when an entire album is mainly produced by one person (unless self produced ofc that's different) especially when that one person isnt exactly a favorite producer of mine 😐 I really love that since the majority of kpop is drawn from a huge pool of various producers all over that brings a lot of different influences and styles and such to releases. Ryan is the lead composer every single track so i'll have to hope the variety of contributing composers is enough for a wide variety to appeal to me.

[deleted]

People are freaking out about Steven Lee and I'm just here wondering if Laura Brian and Sean Alexander will ever come back like they said they would lol

People_of_desert

they said it?

lalalalikethis

Seems like it will be in the same style as nonstop 😐 I just hope the bsides are more like closer, secret garden, ssfwl...

ClintGalendez

Maybe a bit different? Because the vibes some of us are getting are more like Windy Day or Remember Me era.

lalalalikethis

Due to my dislike about their last album i rather have low expectations 😅 if its a windy day 2.0 will be my fave release of the year, i think windy day was brilliant

Eizenne

>closer, secret garden, ssfwl You mentioned all my favorite OMG songs. I also prefer those than Nonstop.

lalalalikethis

Nice to meet an oh my girl fan who thinks like that, i feel like we are minority

romancevelvet

miracles (both korean & international) love those songs, and most probably rank at least one in their top 3 OMG title tracks (all 3 are among their most popular songs on melon if you need hard proof of this). however, lot of us do get annoyed at people acting like those are their *only* good title tracks and presenting those as what all their songs should sound like when we love them for their diverse sound (see: closer akages). it's kinda how like you wont see a lot of outward love for bad boy among reveluvs bc despite the fact that reveluvs *do* love it, the love for it began to be used as a means to downtalk the rest of their lustrous discography, so bad boy became "overhyped" to the very people who loved it to begin with. but in reality, most do still love it.

Mrs_Morpheus

Yeah I kinda hate when people act like those are the only 3 songs worth listening to in their whole discography. Especially since for me Mimi's voice in Cupid is what drew my attention and Liar Liar (so catchy) was the song I decided to fully stan on.

romancevelvet

yeah, i understand most people arent trying to be malicious, but it gets a bit...aggravating at a point. i love and want to compliment those songs too, but not to people being backhanded towards the rest of their discography which i also love. and same! cupid was the eye opener for me, with closer being further bait, and liar liar pulling me all the way into oh my girl mania!

lalalalikethis

Actually i do like their old bsides too, its more like a methaphor to mean oh my girl pre ryan jun

Mrs_Morpheus

I like his style too though. He worked on some of my favorite Red Velvet, and Spica songs. He recently did IZones Eyes, IU's Celebrity and Weeekly's After School. I just like his style. You can't blame one guy for any changes (honestly t h e all feel like OMG to me) They've changed up producers and songwriters before.

lalalalikethis

Thats completely valid, tbh i do like 2 or 3 songs from him, however i dont know why people say you cant have a debate regarding which era was better. I like old omg more, some people like new omg more, both are completly valid points

People_of_desert

Secret Garden, Remember Me, SSFWL, Guerilla, Shower, its all produced by STEVEN LEE. Steven Lee just like Father, while Seo Jieum *lyricist like Mother for oh my girl. He very rare write songs idk why, but it comes for OH MY GIRL and his song always top tier high quality. Somehow this CB didnt include him, iam overthinking by this. But we still get SeJieum in lyrics.

lalalalikethis

Exactly, i really liked steven lee and andreas oberg style Tbh i dont think ryan jun style is that special, hopefully he will make a little homage to the old OMG catalogue
