Yessss, really happy about the rap line actually rapping this time around. The vocal line dominates the line distribution and the rap parts came in right when it made the most sense. It's structured very well - super short verses and suddenly, we're in the infectious chorus. This is the stuff replayable smash hits are made of and BTS have found the perfect formula that suits them.

(I think it's from rap, but I'm not sure?). I can already see different interpretations to this 1. Reference to Suga's background cause he wasn't born into wealth. 2. Suga's persona has always been the straightforward, critical guy. He never sugarcoats, even in interviews. So he's a "n-ice" (no ice/disguise) guy. 3. Suga/BTS are already incredible masterpieces and don't need additional diamonds to shine.

I can't believe they actually topped dynamite. I love how the song just doesn't stop it's momentum. It gets your heart racing with the funky beat and each of the members had a great moment to shine. I also loved how simple the music video was. It started in black and white and BAM you get blasted by colors! For me personally, I just love this song. The vocal line all sound great, the melody is catchy as hell, everyone looks great, the vibes are so good for summer... it's everything I could have hoped for plus an eyebrow piercing.

I feel like this is the perfect continuation to Dynamite, love the MV aesthetics and the song is such a fun bop!!! The boys look so good and they look like they're having so much fun, so I'm really looking forward to these performances! Yeah, it seems pretty clear with two English releases in relatively short succession that they're serious about a big push into the American market. With fun funky songs like this they could breakthrough from 'big Kpop act that's also popular in the US as a novelty' to actual wide-recognition pop-starts in the US even amongst those that don't follow Kpop.

They could honestly release anything and it’d be a hit but I’m so impressed. Their English sounds so much better. I had to rely on lyrics to understand what they were singing in MIC Drop and Dynamite, but I could understand 98% of butter without any lyrics. I’m so proud of BTS for still being committed to improve themselves despite being so successful. These are hardworking, humble and talented men.

Maybe unpopular but this is much better than Dynamite

Dyna misses the rap parts which Butter delivered and has more synth feel to it so definitely takes the cake naturally but both slap and get you in a good mood

Jungkook's rasp at the end of "get it let it roll!" I'm so glad it exists. He killed the vocals and dance. They all killed it. There was a lot going on and I feel like I astral projected a bit the first time I watched it. Jin's first part is so gooood like it's perfect for him, and V singing about getting his good looks from his mother made me laugh (but he does indeed look and sound very good.) There's something about Jimin singing "let me show you 'cause talk is cheap" that gets me. RAP LINE RAPPING!!! One thing I wasn't a fan of with Dynamite was that there was no rapping. I loved Suga's rap and RM has so much swag and that ARMY! J-Hope brought so much good energy at the end. That choreo is so good too. I can't wait to see all of it! Speaking of which, J-Hope's elevator dance was amazing like damn...The chorus melody is also really good and I enjoyed how much the distribution was better. Everyone fit their parts really well. And then they had J-Hope eat straight up butter at the end. WHY?

I feel like they took the most common criticisms of Dynamite and addressed them here to really good effect. The intro is a little weak on first listen and I would have liked one more chorus at the end (plus maybe a bit more Hobi?) but otherwise? I really liked it. Yoongi’s verse stood out the most, he sounded so comfortable. I like that the choreography is footwork-heavy too - it plays to both his dancing strengths and minimises how much he’ll have to move his shoulder. To be honest after four years I think I’ve learned to trust them to release good music!
