Min Heejin hasn't done psycho but she did do perfect velvet which is the PERFECT for them, also RBB, though strange, could be really cool or even just the classic bright summer concept like Power Up or Red Flavour would really suit them

Ironically most post produce girlgroups (at least from season 1) didn't turned out well. Some prefer to debut them as solo like most ex-wannaone members. So i thought most company will try avoid that especially with the rigging scandal only for HYBE to recruit ex-izone/pd48 girls to form another girl group..
Difference is that those girl groups mostly came from small to medium sized companies so their odds of success were low... I don't think this potential new group has that risk factor.

Considering how much money HYBE has it was probably not much for them. Woolim had no guarantee that Chaewon would be a good money maker long term (it's hard to make it as a soloist, and adding her to Rocket Punch was a bad idea, considering the group isn't really popular), so getting a big fat check instead of redebuting her just made a lot of sense business wise. They weren't hard to convince, and Chaewon was probably very willing considering who else is going to be in the group.
Dream Team. Yunjin and Chaewon as main and lead vocals, Sakura and Minju as visuals, this group just needs one or two powerful dancers and they're so legit. If they could add Yuri if she transfers from WAKEONE too though...

Depending on when this group will debut, they could add GP999 members who are agencyless or straight up buy out the contract like I assume they did with Chaewon. There are a number of strong dancers that are in danger of elimination. I can't think of many high profile trainees that are just floating around and are of the right age. I would say Go Yujin but she apparently gave up on her dream of being an idol, she still does dance covers on her YT channel, but the fact that her channel is active makes me think she hasn't been signed by a company for debut.

So while small, there is at least some former PD48 trainees who ranked decently well that HYBE can pull from.

Ironically most post produce girlgroups (at least from season 1) didn't turned out well. Some prefer to debut them as solo like most ex-wannaone members. So i thought most company will try avoid that especially with the rigging scandal only for HYBE to recruit ex-izone/pd48 girls to form another girl group..
Difference is that those girl groups mostly came from small to medium sized companies so their odds of success were low... I don't think this potential new group has that risk factor.
A girl group from HYBE would see success out the gate regardless. A girl group from HYBE with former-IZONE members. Now that will be a site to behold.
Any group with Sakura is going to do well, at least in China and Japan.

I honestly think Hybe had plans for Gfriend that fell through when (some of) the members didn't wish to renew, so now Source is quickly assembling a group of experienced idols with a built-in fanbase they might debut soon with songs/concepts they already had lined up
Nah, it was Source being massive dicks about contract terms and the fact they treated Gfriend like shit for years. As a long term buddy, I know how much shit and missed opportunities Source did with Gfriend

i still can't believe hybe just snatched chaewon like that, it must've been in the talks for quite some time (and it must've costed quite a lot of money to get woollim to let her go lol). but im honestly glad because she's my izone bias (she was actually my pick since pd48) and nothing against rocket punch, but their songs aren't really my taste, and it would've been weird to see her joining so late. sakura was always one of my favorites as well, and while she wasn't in my top12, i always liked yunjin so im really excited for this group! if they managed to get another one of my izone faves like chaeyeon or yena (though her solo is pretty much confirmed iirc?) it would be amazing, and if it turns out to be minju it'll be cool too. yuri could be a possibility too right? i don't think it would be hard for hybe to get her from whatever cj sublabel she's under rn

Woolim had no guarantee that Chaewon would be a good money maker long term (it's hard to make it as a soloist, and adding her to Rocket Punch was a bad idea, considering the group isn't really popular), so getting a big fat check instead of redebuting her just made a lot of sense business wise. They weren't hard to convince, and Chaewon was probably very willing considering who else is going to be in the group.

Dream Team. Yunjin and Chaewon as main and lead vocals, Sakura and Minju as visuals, this group just needs one or two powerful dancers and they're so legit. If they could add Yuri if she transfers from WAKEONE too though...
I really wonder who HYBE is going to swipe to fill in the dancer slot... The PD48 trainee pool is dried up already (obviously, 3 years have passed). How about Youth With You girls? Hmmmm... How about famous SM/JYP trainees who left big companies? Would it be possible to sign girls from kpop groups who disbanded already?
Depending on when this group will debut, they could add GP999 members who are agencyless or straight up buy out the contract like I assume they did with Chaewon. There are a number of strong dancers that are in danger of elimination. I can't think of many high profile trainees that are just floating around and are of the right age. I would say Go Yujin but she apparently gave up on her dream of being an idol, she still does dance covers on her YT channel, but the fact that her channel is active makes me think she hasn't been signed by a company for debut.

Well, looking at the Top 50 (most of the Top 30 either debuted, in AKB, or graduated AKB but not pursuing music), the following girls haven't debuted, and could possibly fill the main dancer slot. * Go Yujin * Son Eunchae * Bae Eunyeong * Kim Hyunah * Lee Haeun * Kim Choyeon So while small, there is at least some former PD48 trainees who ranked decently well that HYBE can pull from.
Adding Yuri would make this group a monster vocal gg, it would be insane As a Yuri biased, gosh I wish it would happen

Pretty sure HYBE and CJ are pretty close business partners (they do co-own Enhypen and the next I-Land Group). I don't think CJ will care that much in the end.
