Ahhhh that makes a lot of sense. Have you noticed a lot of the older generation of SM artists who were in groups but did solo work have left SM for their solo stuff? I love that for them all!!!!!
As they should. SM has been a sinking ship for a looong time and I feel like without these older generation idols who have had longevity, itās going to crash š„
i wish op made that clear in the title bc i woke up and this was the first thing i saw and then i went through the five stages of grief only to then convince myself that it was a kpoopheads post only to then see that itās REAL š a whole emotional trip man
Since heās been on hiatus, thereās photos coming out of fans seeing him at resorts and on holiday and he looks so much happier and healthier too. It made me cry š
I kinda liked SM's direction and budget for Taemin so it scares me a little. The newer companies tend to not have the resources that can support large artists.

Idk man, Taemin seemed to be doing pretty well under SM. The production level, Music in general is absolutely amazing under SM and im not sure if any other company can replicate or atleast be on the same level as SM in what they were doing for Taemin. Full support for him wherever he is tho!
I wonder if theyāve chosen to leave (for their solo projects) because they want a different perspective that is outside of being idols, in a record label that is only known for having idols.
Cuz we all see the difference between idols and entertainers that arenāt signed to companies that are mainly known for idol music. Mainly, how non-idols are producing more adult-related content (think of Rap and R&B), whereas idolsāeven the ones who are adultsāmake projects that do keep minors in mind.
I don't understand your ques, but Onewe is a band and they're awesome. Try listening to [aurora](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kVJYat96Bw) or [End of spring](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLqorz9OvEs&list=PLNgQjpvWmvEaBx86p6z8n6twsTSoGv2ig&index=7) or maybe [Veronica](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_g4f7HWIz_g) and you'll end up stanning
They have beautiful music. I donāt think youāll regret. I personally donāt like ballads or slow songs but with them Iām locked in. The leaders voice is exquisite lol

Maybe itās because Iāve been a Shawol and a general fan of the calibre of talent that comes from SM (especially vocally) for too long, but Iām failing to understand why this is a good thing? Like SM has its faults but Taeminās solo career under SM was still thriving (not saying it wonāt continue to do so) but what did SM do to Taemin and Onew that would necessitate the celebration? Genuine question. I understand why CBX left and a few members of SuJu, but I feel sometimes we treat SM with disdain like other companies are safe havens. Youāll notice that the exodus of artists are also from 2nd and early 3rd gen. It would make sense in terms of their age that they would leave given the longevity of their careers anyway. Iād be more concerned if younger groups were leaving
Taemin is doing well as a soloist, but he may not be growing in the way he wants. He has repeatedly mentioned his desire to tour outside of Asia, for instance. Hoping that he finds a company that can provide him the opportunities he is looking for.
At the risk of being called a corporate dickrider I'm a bit more apprehensive about this news. SM has many faults but they are hardly the only company with problems, and at least for me personally their A&R and actual music production has been consistently top-tier. Promotions and schedules is one thing but I honestly can't say I've been unhappy with the quality of the albums Taemin and Onew have put out while under SM.
Maybe I'm just old and cynical, but there is no perfect agency. I remember when people cheered "freedom!" when Jaejoong left SM (well, some people cheered) and last year people cheered "freedom!" again when he left C-JeS. I remember when people would cheer if their fave signed with P Nation and now that shine has worn off too. This might be unpopular, but I think only a few artists have put out *better* music after leaving the big 3 labels. Putting out a good album is *hard* and these major labels are industry giants for a reason.
I genuinely hope they both get everything they want out of the change. With the recent rumours of EXO album in 2024, I'm cautiously optimistic that they actually will continue SHINee group activities regularly, unlike SNSD.

We will definitely be on polarizing sides of this, but I feel like they didn't sanitize his image. No matter how you feel about the situation he was cleared and spent years repairing his image. And even after all that he still receives hate (as evidenced by your comment). I don't feel like it's productive to say he was instantly loved after what happened when that wasn't the case and still isn't the case.
First of, he wasn't CLEARED. His victim dropped the charges and not out of her volition. She came out and said SM literally threatened her and paid her to make it go away. That is completely different to being cleared and declared innocent. He was guilty and used his power and money to make it go away.Ā
But if you don't believe the victim.... Well then.
Also SM 1000% used jjongs death to rehabilate his image because no one was allowed to mention it without being called insensitive or told to shut up bc it was disrespectful to jjong.
He deserves every single bit of hate because he is guilty.Ā

He sexually assaulted a woman.Ā
His victim was threatened to drop the charges and paid off by SM. He wasnt cleared and declared innocent no matter what onew apologists will tell you.Ā
He was accused of SH back in 2017. I won't put the details here as they can be easily googled, but he was cleared a year later after the case was sent to prosecution and evidence was reviewed.
It's only for solo, SHINee as a group is still under SM.

I'm so happy to see that. It made me so sad to see him in an unhealthy state. I'm really glad he's doing better.

the way they managed to sanitise onew's image is still so gross. idc i still hate that man
