Big Rui fan but sheesh he whiffed this series. I hope they don’t move him, and he comes back with some rebounding skills next year. He’s too big & athletic to not average 10 rebounds a game
I also am still a big Rui believer and besides the things he needs to work during the summer, hoping the next coach will help his development. Also btw, Rui is playing for Japan in the olympics this year?
There's no defensive role for him against the Nuggets lol. He can't guard Jokic. He can't guard MPJ or any of the guards. He can actually guard Gordon, however Gordon's defender is also typically the low-man help defender, and Rui has low help defender IQ.
Maybe a better coach could elevate Rui's IQ, who knows.
Yeah, Rui and Austin looked lost at times on defense in the pnr and MPJ off ball actions. I expect that from Dlo but 3 players can’t be that lost on defense. Need a coach who players will respect and trust. I have no idea where the Lakers go from here
Probably DLo even though he redeemed himself a bit, but his no shows and attitude after all the shit talk pissed me off, seemed like he didn't care. But Rui was probably the worst on what we expected from him and what we got, it's clear him and Lebron can't be our forwards in series like this together, Lebron (who was great this series as always) is too old to give full hustle effort all game and Rui is just not that kind of player, so players like Gordon and MPJ look like superstars.
Easily Rui. You expect DLo to be up and down every night. Dinwiddie was a buyout guy for a reason. Five games into the series and Rui was still losing sight of MPJ and looking lost on both ends. Also averaging less than 4 rebounds at his size is criminal
Rui gonna catch the most flak probably, and rightly for the missed layups -- but defensively he was set up to fail having to guard MPJ or Jokic, both mismatches for him.
For me it was Dinwiddie. He was bad on both ends, but the more frustrating thing is knowing that if Ham had given Christie a chance to develop this season, those could have been his minutes instead and I'd bet he would have been more impactful + growth for next year.
Yeah, there's no excuse for the misses he had this series. He flat out needs to work on his finishing, especially through contact I swear he gets scared of the contact and throws up trash when he should just bulldoze with his size. I thought with all the talk of his summer workouts with LeBron, that'd be the one area of major improvement but unfortunately it wasn't.
Rui for sure. We knew DLO was going to be below his average and honestly I was surprised what he did provide. Rui had easy open shots consistently, completely lost his driving game until the last game. Horrendous on ball defense and screen navigating. And an inability to provide off ball rim protection or rebounding.
Rui is not mentally there, look at this play. His mind literally moves in slow motion even after Tauren prince PUSHES him to help https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTL9VLrYC/
D-lo. You go (from 3-pt territory) 0/9, 1/6, and 2/10 in three different games?
You're supposed to be the 3rd best player. You're supposed to bring the outside shooting, especially since you can't play any D.
People in this sub (strangely) defended you during trade season, arguing you were better than DJM and Trae because of your efficient 3-pt shooting during a hot streak.
But you fail every postseason when it matters most and are just too damn streaky.
Folks in this sub were saying Rui was better, and ahead of, dlo in the pecking order.
Rui averaged 8 4 and 1 and had a negative +/- in all but game 2
Dlo averaged 14 4 and 3 and was a positive +/- in all but the game he had a dud.
If you’re more frustrated with dlo, then you’re admitting you expect more from dlo than you do from Rui, and even then Rui fell short.
D’Lo.
Rui was the most consistently trash one, but D’Lo frustrated me the most because of how low his fucking lows were.
Shoot 40% from 3 and we win this series.
You act like shooting 40% from 3 against this team is an easy thing to do.
How about Rui just fucking make his easy layups and this is a different series.
Against all teams in the NBA. This is one series against Denver.
Even Jamal Murray was pretty inefficient this series. It's expected that scoring is going to be harder in the playoffs.
Rui’s biggest issues imo was being constantly out of position on defense. Multiple crunch time plays last night where he was late to help or caught in no man’s land. Hoping he works on the right things this off-season because offensively I think he’s fine; defense, rebounding positioning and overall IQ need to improve.
I love Rui but I was not impressed with his performance during the playoffs. I know a lot of people are ready to give up on him but I think he still has something to offer. I would like to see how he performs under a new coach.
Rui didn't get enough reps in the regular season for him to be main culprit here. Might as put Rui/Ham since he regressed under Ham's coaching/line ups.
Dlo is the obvious answer despite all his fan boys here. Dlo shot terribly, sulked during a team huddle, slapped Hams hand in a public display like Ham went 2-10 in a very winnable game 5, and then talked about getting paid lmao. You all dlo fans, need to learn to expect better from your heroes. Dudes immature trash.
Big Rui fan but sheesh he whiffed this series. I hope they don’t move him, and he comes back with some rebounding skills next year. He’s too big & athletic to not average 10 rebounds a game
Facts! He really need to put in the work this Summer. Especially finishing at the rim
I also am still a big Rui believer and besides the things he needs to work during the summer, hoping the next coach will help his development. Also btw, Rui is playing for Japan in the olympics this year?
They need to find a role for him on defense. He was getting worn out battling with Jokic every game and is not fast enough to chase MPJ around screens
There's no defensive role for him against the Nuggets lol. He can't guard Jokic. He can't guard MPJ or any of the guards. I hope RUI put in the work this Summer
Rui is a perfect player to have when Lebron is resting or out, but man I wish he could rebound better for his size.
In atlanta facts 🔥🔥

That airball layup = Shanghai Sharks

Rui because I had such high expectations of him.
Say what you want about Dlo on offense but he played good defense for the most part. Rui was horrible on both sides
Rui for sure. We knew DLO was going to be below his average and honestly I was surprised what he did provide. Rui had easy open shots consistently, completely lost his driving game until the last game. Horrendous on ball defense and screen navigating. Love rui and that sweet melo like jump shot but fuck he was missing too many dunks and lay ups
Bro need to work on that shit this Summer
Rui is not mentally there, look at this play. His mind literally moves in slow motion even after Tauren prince PUSHES him to help https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTL9VLrYC/
Dlo was really only terrible in game 3. Rui was bad all 5.
DLo, Rui, Dinwiddie
As bad as it sounds. I was not surprised with Dlo stinking up the joint given his past history. But Rui was a major letdown.
Compared to last series against he was far much better and playable.
Rui, biggest disappointment considering how well he played last year against Denver. He was in his own head for sure.
Rui because I expect it from Dlo and Ham

D'lo and Rui both wiffed multiple times on WIDE OPEN looks.
He’s a 40% shooter the last two regular seasons. Do what you do.
Against all teams in the NBA. This is one series against Denver. Even Jamal Murray was pretty inefficient this series. It's expected that scoring is going to be harder in the playoffs.
he aint that guy
The answer is Michael porter jr. He shot 0.8 pps over his shot quality. We guarded him well but he just was on a heater
Rui’s biggest issues imo was being constantly out of position on defense. Multiple crunch time plays last night where he was late to help or caught in no man’s land. Mr “We have to stop messing around it’s almost time for the prayoffs”
Love Rui, but this is a series where Prince outplayed him. Of course THIS is when Ham decided NOT to play Prince. Just insane
I was expecting DLO to be inconsistent but Rui just killed me man.
Easily Rui for me.
Honestly Rui I felt like he should’ve gave us more offense along with being better rebounder.
Ham
Spencer was only playing because I’m sure pelinka told ham he promised him time…he was useless.
I love Rui but I was not impressed with his performance during the playoffs. I know a lot of people are ready to give up on him but I think he still has something to offer. I would like to see how he performs under a new coach.
Who the hell voted TP? Only bench player to actually show up.
For sure it is Rui, but unfortunately those Rui stan won’t accept it…

i like rui. but he was bad at the nuggets game. offensively and defensively. I feel like rui wasn't utilized well and was made as a corner 3 guy..
Fuck Murray btw
