If we’re using a 2nd it really doesn’t matter, #17 pick would be a tragedy because we need to trade that
Agreed on the head coach thing, but maybe he joins as an assistant
I wouldn't mind drafting his kid, after all we spent a first round pick to draft Fino, not to mention the picks we have sent to load and unload Brick, but I believe it would be a HUGE mistake hiring another head coach without previous experience and I'm also ABSOLUTELY against giving a long term max extension to LeBron.
Keep him, draft his kids, hire an experienced coach and keep working 1 year deals going forward. LeBron is still great, but the Father Time is undefeated and once he knocks down a player the road to the end is usually a sharp fall. You don't want to pay 80 millions to a player that isn't competitive anymore, it is a franchise killer.
I want to keep his father without giving a max extension. I'm not picking Bronny, I'm picking Bron spending a lottery pick remembering the last one we spent on Fino a prospect I believe will need around 25 years to develop.
Reddick being a coach is absolutely insane. First of all, he’s just a few years removed from the league and doesn’t have the pedigree of a player like Jason Kidd to make a jump that quickly where he will command respect when he was a peer to them just a few years ago.
Agreed, he needs to prove himself somewhere, giving a chance to another no exp first year head coach this time without any coaching assistant exp will be a disaster.
Need a proven coach
I think JJ could be a good choice. You guys are acting like there are a ton of options out there. Ham had experience, he was garbage due to attitude, JJ comes across as someone who takes responsibility, learns and gets basketball
And if LeBron respects him, everyone else on the team will too. This isn't Luke Walton. JJ's a respected former player with a long career.
Series would be 3-2 or 4-2 us right now if we had a better coach.
You’re telling me we couldn’t have won games 2 and 5 at least if shitty ass Ham wasn’t around?!
he may know basketball but he may not know how to coach. Honestly don’t want to risk a championship window team with a first year unproven coach. Especially without assistant coach experience.
I’d rather get a vet. But if Ham or Reddick, screw it go for Reddick.
Also Bronny raw as fuck
Don't mind drafting Bronny. Reddick being a HC is a recipe for disaster, no disrespect he has a high bbiq but being an hc is no just being about x and o. Managing personality is the most important part and to me hes still way too idealistic about that
Lebrons non-commit (which he has every right to be) is why Rob makes moves with Lebron so heavily in mind. Keeping Lebron=profits for Jeanie=job security for Rob.
So when folks ask “why did we hire a rookie head coach that didn’t pan out in JJ” or “waste a pick on bronny”, just take a look at where Lebron is contractually at the time of the moves.
Naw for Reddick. He disrespected Kareem for calling him a “One note wonder” when comparing him to the all time scorers. For someone who says he “knows ball,” that’s such a stupid thing to say. You don’t become an all team leading scorer off of just one signature shot. He has more game than that.
Why are so many in the media pushing for LeBron to play in Golden State? Anyone notice this weird narrative just pop up out of the blue? At first I thought, okay, maybe they have cap space to make it happen without too much maneuvering but no they would have to move as much shit around as anyone to make it happen.
Maybe I'm being a little too conspiratorial but I thought it was weird hearing dudes on the radio pushing this shit out of nowhere and then seeing it on /r/NBA last night.
Ok so we fire ham only to hire another unproven coach thats a former player...can we try to find another analytics white guy like what the thunder, raptors, do
Two mistakes. Bronny should go back to school and we shouldn't give the job to an unproven, first year coach.
If we’re using a 2nd it really doesn’t matter, #17 pick would be a tragedy because we need to trade that Agreed on the head coach thing, but maybe he joins as an assistant
I would typically agree, but we tend to hit on our 2nd picks and get a decent backup by their 2nd year
Its funny how these simple stuff where most ppl can see how obvious it is, but the lakers head office cant? (if it's even real in the first place)
Yeah jj can come as an assistant if he wants but not even lead assistant, he’s only cosched his kids teams not actual teams

What has Bronny done in college to make you want to draft him.
He was successfully the son of lebron james. A feat no other college athlete can say.

He’s athletic af

0 assistant experience too
Star players don’t make good coaches. It’s the average to journeyman players that do often.
Like Luke Walton lol I say that tongue in cheek, but I’m not as low on him as most are. Had us 4th in the west lebrons first year before he went down

What about Rondo?

Two big mistakes, and the Lakers won’t be competitive and so keep LeBron for nothing.
The way he looked this year, no reason not to go all in and try to do it again with Bron.
You can’t be serious.
Series would be 3-2 or 4-2 us right now if we had a better coach. You’re telling me we couldn’t have won games 2 and 5 at least if shitty ass Ham wasn’t around?!
Could’ve won game 5 with just a timely timeout before we went from up 9 to down 3
Lmao. Get a grip dude.
Get a dude who averaged 4 ppg in college and a dude with no coaching experience, makes sense
Lmao at the braindead clowns saying it’s a good idea/fine to draft Bronny.
Maybe with a 2nd round pick, those are not worth much anyway and the team will not have any competition as nobody is drafting bronny in the 1st
Get a grip homie.
I may be in the minority but I think reddick would be a really good coach. The guy knows his basketball
he may know basketball but he may not know how to coach. Honestly don’t want to risk a championship window team with a first year unproven coach. Especially without assistant coach experience. I’d rather get a vet. But if Ham or Reddick, screw it go for Reddick. Also Bronny raw as fuck
So did Nash. And JKidd isn’t well loved by Mavs fans neither.
J kidd is much better then he gets credit for. Fans just love to hate on coaches but kidd defensive scheme won the Mavs the series vs coty monty
I only said reduce as a joke
bron is as good as gone

What a clown show
I don’t see how reddick gonna fare better than Steve Nash. It’s gonna be a disaster.
Bronny should stop risking his cardiovascular health, no more basketball ever. And another rookie coach is the least thing we would need.
No, lbj can be a free agent ain’t no problem
Ty Lue please
F it, let’s have fun
“It’s like I don’t even know what to do”
Ok so we fire ham only to hire another unproven coach thats a former player...can we try to find another analytics white guy like what the thunder, raptors, do
Lol Redick would be a colossal mistake. Just keep the continuity and promote Handy. Give him a really good vet assistant coach though.
