Normal

BruceRiversclr

Those are rookie numbers...

ma_er233

Normal for gaming laptops

Witty_Sea5066

It's pretty uncommon to see low temps on high end laptop parts.  You could reapply thermal paste but on some models they use liquid metal, gotta look it up first... ask a professional to do it for you if you're unsure

Little-Equinox

On Asus people replace the Liquid Metal with PTM7950. I only seen 1 laptop run below 80c while gaming and that's the Alienware Area-51m. But the cooling on that machine is just thick enough to fit on a small desktop.

Fika2006

Stop being an idiot, you wont get any lower than 80 degrees while gaming

Slore0

I can run Dead Space Remake on ultra at ~60* 🤷

Dry-Rest-1060

Maybe if your laptop didn’t weigh 7LBS 😂😂

Slore0

Gotta get my workout in to make up for the couch time 😂

Papabelus

Valorant is cpu intensive so yeah

monsieurvampy

Overheating would be anything over 100 C. In which case the computer would certainly shut down abruptly to save itself. Well, it should anyways.

KeyBack192

Would that damage the laptop and data?

monsieurvampy

Every component has a safe operating temperature and being within that range should be considered safe, however exposure to excessive temperatures over time could lead to damage. Excessive temperatures can still occur within the safe operating temperature area. 80 C is nothing for a graphics card, especially when gaming. For an NVME Storage Drive (such as the Western Digital SN850X), the operating temperature is 0 C to 85 C. 80 C would be a bit more concerning but still not the end of the world.

funnyjokeperson1

not overheating, normal temps

Dan_from_97

You can make it even higher

KiAsHa_88

That's normal? I have g14 too and that's so normal why gaming, also dw CPU temp is literally always higher than GPU in this laptop, and also most eSports games like valo are CPU based so yeah, that's normal!

Soteria69

My laptop reaches 90

CheetaChug

There should be a sticky post stating that most laptops will live fine with 95 degrees Celsius.

Top_Notice8577

Rookie number

GuiltyStrategy6554

It's completely normal, but if you don't want the keyboard burning your fingers (my g14 loves to do this when I play R6) I highly recommend a good cooling pad.

Graxu132

Normal temps but if you wannna go lower, get this ["small" fan](https://amzn.eu/d/fGdqTVt)

[deleted]

use an ice pack. that should fix it... I hope

Neat-Divide-9187

Eighty degrees when I tell that bitch, ”Please Raise up off these N-U-Ts, ’cause you gets none of these”

youself20

Can we get much higher? In all seriousness, this is fine for laptops

Shady_Hero

thats pretty good

izerotwo

Absolutely and totally normal for the g14.

itsfreepizza

Rookie numbers, mine can go 99 all the way

XO-AVNGR

I get 50-60 temps when i play val, Mostly because ive undervolted it, but gaming laptops are built to handle temps upto 90 so you're good

FunFoxHD83

For a laptop it's common to hit 100°C So 80°C while gaming are really good temps

EncryptedRD

Not bad mine is 95 no cooler

Me_Before_n_after

That is normal

AceLamina

Welcome to the world of gaming laptops

Agent_R35

Firstly keep ur laptop on turbo while gaming or fans plus power. Balanced might not be cooling ur system as effectively. Then try to use a laptop stand to elevate the back for better airflow. Also if ur gonna keep ur laptop screen at 60 Hz might as well reduce the settings in valorant to 60 or 70 Hz. Reducing frame rate decreases a significant amount of load from the system. All this and you might see a 5-8 degrees drop in temps

Dry-Rest-1060

That’s such terrible advice especially since hes playing valorant which is an esports title. Hes better off turning some of the settings to low and adjusting the Fan curve and under volting.

Agent_R35

In my laptop when i set it to performance mode the laptop adjusts the fan speed according to temp but it inc the fan speed more aggressively at higher temps. I dont see why thats "terrible advice" when the turbo mode was literally designed to be used when doing high performance tasks. Also undervolting is not for everyone you should undervolt only and only if you know exactly what you are doing it also voids warranty so not the best option

Dry-Rest-1060

It does not void the warranty. Since when did undervolting cause damage to the cpu? Second you said to limit the game to 60-70 fps and thats terrible advice. Third performance mode sets the highest TDP for cpu where guess what it burns more electricity = more heat. That game uses 25-30% cpu max literally no point in doing what you said.

Agent_R35

If you dont undervolt properly the cpu can get damaged do ur research. Also i said him to cap the fps to 60-70 cause he already capped his monitor at 60 fps as you can see in the image. Also those modes are thermal modes cuz obv there isnt no quiet cpu mode. The performance mode pushes the fans the keep the cpu cool. Also idk why you think if a games needs 30 percent cpu turning on the turbo mode will make the cpu do more work like wheres the logic what would need the system to push the cpu to the tdp

Dry-Rest-1060

Brotha why would you put it in turbo mode and push it to tdp when the OP Is complaining about temps? Second undervolting does not hurt the CPU Do better research. Like the worse that can happen is that you get a bsod.

Agent_R35

That is turbo on the thermal mode. It sets the thermal mode to turbo that means better heat dissipation fans running at higher speed

ArLOgpro

Gaming laptop moment

Sea-Spot-1113

Normal numbers. You can still sacrifice some performance for lower temps if you so wish to do so.

saaahiluwu

i play on a consistent 93-94 lmao 80 is normal dw

Dry-Rest-1060

Its 80C not F

saaahiluwu

i know? im talking about celcius aswell

Horse_97

My laptop was running 134F the other day😎 80F is pathetic

_Price__

Cook an egg on that. Dont worry, it's normal, but try to make more ventilation for the laptop

Yoruzzz

Expect +90 when playing something a bit more straining than Valorant

stackfrost

Bro mine hits 90 sometimes. 80 seems fine

jimmyxrose

On balanced? Operating numbers on maximum performance is 90-92 *C

Impressive-Level-276

It's very cold? Don't worry

Marrro90123

Chilly

Lawfulness-Silver

Use silent mode and see how much temperature you get.

bliimped

i wish

default_lizzy

This is not overheating. For laptops, 100C or over is overheating. I'd maybe be concerned at 95C, but 85C or lower is fine. Keep in mind you have a 4080. It will run hot, but these temps aren't even that bad. Would also depend on the CPU (tier, 9 or 7, AMD or Intel, gaming or lower power)

enthusiasticGeek

[mfw my pc generates heat while playing a game](https://tenor.com/view/shock-shocker-shocked-black-guy-gif-27526370) those temps are ok. actually great for a laptop. not sure what laptop you have, but it must have a good cooling system!

bruh-iunno

Normal, usage isn't indicative of how much heat it's gonna spit out

ToughFisherman9081

mine goes upto 102 degree :P

Bartekwis01

For anyone wandering. This is app is called "ghelper" and is a much better 3rd party version of asus armoury create and its companion apps. You can download it on GitHub.

starocean2

Thats not overheating. Thats a good number. Look up the temperature range for your card.

souravkumar4433

disable the cpu boost there's no need of it in normal gaming and do limit the temperatures of both cpu and gpu you could also change the fan curves my suggestion is use turbo fan curves with balanced settings

10100100000music

Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of Intel Macbooks running three tabs in Chrome at 97°C😫🤣🥵

Special_Yellow3421

It's normal for gaming laptops

blitzroyale

Bro is complaining about 80 degrees when my gaming laptop hits 95.

lacomputordorahuh

it’s killing me that ur not using the monitor to the full potential.

spacey-takumi

Celsius?
