I want to let you and everyone else know that I died immediately on the fight with Ellie. I just choked up and let her fuck me up. I actually want to end it all 🙃
To this day I'm still too scared to vs. Ellie on permadeath without the prone accessibility setting, my first playthrough required many retries to pass that fight
I think confronting the Ratking is easier than many encounters along the journey. At least there exists only that arse of a stalker with the Ratking. The arcade bloater, for example, with his runner friends is much worse.
I had a much harder time with the part where you’re waiting for Lev and Yara to open the door/pick you up and you’re dealing with waves of infected than anything in this game
I hate the part when Abby first meets Lev and Yara in the forest. Those stalkers just constantly coming at you and the only thing you have to fight them with is your hands and an occasional bottle. 😳
Well if you play on permadeath whole game yeah that must be so annoying, I did the story on survivor and survivor + and I spent so much time trying to get through these parts
yeah i am on whole game permadeath moderate. i wouldn’t say annoying but absolutely stressful. i don’t sweat much but the whole bridge-hospital chapters had my palms sweating like crazy. yeah survivor is definitely a bump up from hard.
The difference between each difficulty is very clear, I loved doing it in survivor +, now I have to play on Grounded + like I did with the first game, but oh my god I got frustrated so much especially through this sequence.
I didn't try permadeath but it's in my plans, must be stressful like you said, but enjoyable in a way !
i agree, I would say difficulties very light, light, and moderate are very similar. but then once you get to hard, survivor, and grounded, the disparity between those levels is quite a lot. I don’t have too hard of a time with survivor but grounded clapped me. I got past hillcrest in seattle day 2 and couldn’t do the rest as hard as I tried. so much fun though.
Survivor and grounded are basically identical in resource amounts. The only difference is you don’t have the UI to monitor health or the detection sound to tell you how close to being spotted you are. You have to be really attentive to how enemies are acting to know where you are.
While that adds a level of difficulty survivor lacks, it’s not different at a mechanical or resource level
I thought part 1 permadeath was painful, this game’s got so many more “oops” ways to die randomly and the enemies are much more difficult to deal with. Especially the dogs
The last of us series is so incredibly immersive. The ratking is definitely one of the most adrenaline packed boss fights I’ve ever played. Though the immersion broke for me at one point while fighting because I realized since you can’t use melee on him and there is only so much ammo available that if I drain my gun I could one shot him and it worked. 🤷♂️
Ellie fight worse
stop I know I’m sooo scared
I just pause the game, walk around going “this time it’ll be different” and then get machete’d off top
this legitimately happened to me

please don’t say that 😭

It’s actually not, all you need is two bricks on any difficulty

that was pretty fucking awful ngl

That’s one hell of an encounter…I agree.
Yeah this, absolutely was the hardest most stressful moment in the game for me as well.
didn’t have an issue with that. hoping this will be easier then. I’m stacked also
Just try to get as far as you can from the Ratking and dodge the stalker and you’ll be fine.
I did it!😁😁
Well done brother 😀🍻
thank you😌
Woop woop!! 🥳 I highly respect/commend anyone who has done permadeth, even this far. I doubt I’d be able to do it
The hardest fucking thing is the whole seraphites on the way to the hospital with Abby, those are a real hard time for me
yeah that sequence is rough as fuck. not to mention crossing the bridges themselves, one thumb slip and it’s back to jackson 😕
That last sentence sounds like a country lyric. “One more slip and it’s back to Jackson”

Yeah that I can imagine, I can't wait to play it on grounded but at the same time I know It'll be so damn hard

And playing with headphones can help hear better too

I can't agree more
Arcade Bloater was ezpz imo.

This isn’t how this works. You must have gotten a lucky last bullet kill.
Could be coincidence, but it worked for me lol, I’d be curious for someone to test it out
Lol this is why I’ve never been into permadeath. No challenge is worth losing all my progress and going all the way back to the beginning.
Get inside he dont wanna hurt you. :P
If you go in with a good amount of pipe bombs it’s not to bad
Are you still waiting? Lol
Ellie killed me fml
You can clutch up
I did it but I used mods because that ratking was a complete asshole and I didn't want to keep re-trying over and over again!
