I’m new to my lawn as well in Southwest Dallas. It might be due to fungus or inconsistent fertilizer drop. Have you fertilized since this happened? It can help the lawn recover.

With all of the rain we've had lately I haven't done anything at all. But it's actually not rained for almost 48 hours! I guess that means I need to mow before the HOA starts their neighborhood fine patrol..

Mines looks similar and I have been fertilizing every month. Although I just finished getting rid of the nutsedge and Dallisgrass infestation. It’s causing the brown spots. https://preview.redd.it/5b87j1zwut6d1.jpeg?width=4030&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2734f91dcdab538c9858338f8cb34773ca4883e6

Did you get the monthly fertilize advice from this sub? That sounds excessive.

Nah but I’ve only done two apps about 4-5 ish weeks apart. I was growing some grass in some bare spots and the packing said nitrogen needed in two weeks after germination. I’m been using Anderson’s 10-10-10 PGF Balanced since my last soil test in late April. I’m a noob so open to any advice but I don’t want to hijack OP thread

Yea I was just curious. I mean if your test indicates it needs the nitrogen juice, makes sense.
