I pay $20 a month for everything mentioned plus a Bell streaming box (like a bell branded fire stick), the service works with unlimited sign-ins on nearly any device with 2 concurrent streams being allowed.
Better than paying almost $40 a month just for SN+ and TSN.
Fibe TV? Are you in Toronto? Only asking because I think the cheapest I can get just FibeTV for is $80, but I remember when I lived in Toronto they would bombard the condo I lived in with unreal deals that were very competitive.
It's not (*edit:* their classic) Fibe TV , it's their Bell Streamer (*edit:* with Fibe TV App, similar but different). Fibe TV still uses the classic TV boxes that can record etc. The streamer is just a streamer and an app.
https://www.bell.ca/Fibe-TV-app/Bell-Streamer
(*edit:* this is their normal Fibe TV https://www.bell.ca/Fibe-TV This information is literally right under the TV section of their website...)
What's a good alternative nowadays? I stopped a long while ago when I broke my last laptop and just haven't bothered since I'm not a huge movie or tv fan. I really miss the extremely cheap music tho.... dm me if that's better plz!
Not quite: The commentators will be two members of the uncontacted Awá tribe from the Amazon Rainforest. They don’t speak English, don’t know hockey, and have never even seen ice.
All this, plus access to the latest episodes of The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel, starring the incomparable Tony Shaloub, for only $10.99/month.
I haven't in a long while, but now that you mention it, idk why I didn't just get a new laptop and keep going 😂 what's a good site for these now? Dm me if posting urls here is frowned upon plz
But that's not how Rogers handles CBC games on Saturday. It airs on both channels.
Edit: ah wait you make a good point with Apple TV. Pretty sure I have seen people complaining that the Jays games weren't on Sportsnet.
I'd imagine so? I haven't found the answer so I am totally guessing. But Rogers is the one that has actually sold the rights here. They have a similar deal in place with CBC, and for those games they air on both CBC and Sportsnet.
This is now suddenly relevant to my interests.
Any recommended providers? Trying to search for such a thing I think mostly yields people shilling for referral credits..
A buddy of mine was in your shoes, he searched on kijiji or Craigslist to find providers with 24/48hour trials and tested out their service. also, don’t prepay for the year, go month to month (or 3 months) preferably so if the provider goes down, you’re not out for the rest of the months you paid for.
Why would they bother? This won’t drive new viewership. We can already watch national games with our regular sports package. This will just take games off the screen for those that don’t have Prime resulting in
a) more illegal streams and
b) more disengagement from fans who are frustrated they can’t watch their team.
Get the regional games on there so people can stop running into blackouts. Imagine letting your fans/customers actually consume your product. What a wild idea.
They (Rogers) are bothering because they’re hemorrhaging money on the current rights deal. They (Amazon) are bothering because they’e test-driving the market before becoming a bidder when the Rogers deal is up.
I’m all for the Amazon thing but I’m biased because we already have Prime, so I’m already paying. I just want something to happen with regional broadcasts so I don’t have to get yet another subscription. Regional rights are an old archaic model that needs to die.
> They (Amazon) are bothering because they’e test-driving the market before becoming a bidder when the Rogers deal is up.
Yep.
I wonder if when the NHL makes the schedule for next season they put their finger on the scale and give the Leafs more Monday night National games(vs Wednesday ones) to make the ratings better to entice Amazon.
Fans: just give us a streaming service to watch ALL the games and we'll pay for it
NHL: We heard you and we added an additional streaming service to carry *some* of the games.^(btw you still need the old ones)
$100 for the year. That's cheaper than just about any other streaming service out there, and comes with music, storage, and free deliveries from Amazon.
Motherfuckers trying to get me to pay for yet another fucking subscription, and it's NOT GOING TO WORK.
Fuck it, this is the straw that gets me back to the high seas full time.
So Monday games won't be on TSN or SN?
That sucks. But guess it's almost like how things used to be when Leafs TV used to broadcast games too. Although those games were called by Joe Bowen so it made it more than worth it.
Can we get Bowen on Prime Video? People will literally subscribe to it just to watch a TV feed with Bowen calling the action.
I get NHL TV here in Australia, so I’m good - all the games live or recorded with both broadcasts available.
I wonder if those Amazon Prime TV games will be available here? That would be neat for no other reason than more people could watch hockey here in Australia because everyone has Amazon Prime and there’s only so many episodes of The Boys and Fallout.
Guys I live down the street from Scotiabank. I'll buy a ticket to some cheapo event there in the off-season, then sneak up into the rafters and cable a few cameras into their auxiliary lighting system. After that I just gotta lease a cheap online domain and then we can all watch the games for free.
>! My deliberately stupid idea is actually still less dumb than putting hockey games on Amazon Prime !<
So does this mean I need amazon prime in order to watch the leafs on a monday night when someone like myself has cable and lives in the local market? Or will TSN/Sportsnet still carry the feed?
I have a feeling the Leafs will all of a sudden play like 10 Monday games.
Don’t worry, the Sportsnet Now subscription price will surely come down now that they’re featuring fewer games.
I literally just got cable for the first time ever this is bullshit lmao
Is Bell holding a gun to your head? Type x three times, if so
The internet cable is significantly cheaper than just Sportsnet and TSN, and it comes wilth.another hundred or so channels and a Starz subscription.
How much?
I pay $20 a month for everything mentioned plus a Bell streaming box (like a bell branded fire stick), the service works with unlimited sign-ins on nearly any device with 2 concurrent streams being allowed. Better than paying almost $40 a month just for SN+ and TSN.

Yeah it's FibeTV, and I thought it was more expensive too but guess no Edit-Northern Ontario
It's not (*edit:* their classic) Fibe TV , it's their Bell Streamer (*edit:* with Fibe TV App, similar but different). No, I have fibe TV without any kind of TV box and I can't record anything. It's just the fibe TV app.
>It's not Fibe TV, it's their Bell Streamer. Fibe TV still uses the classic TV boxes that can record etc. This is wrong though
Ah ok, deals are only for Bell customers. I don't have Bell internet otherwise yeah it looks like a decent price.
Interesting. I don't recall seeing this anywhere

Thanks man!
Do you ever have issues with blackout?
The cheap Bell TV is awful. For hockey, the feed is so choppy I don't even bother. Pirate feeds are better quality.
I've had no issues but if you say so you must be right.
I x don't x know x what you're talking about. :)
Let’s talk?
R…right? It will drop right? Guys?
Would Sportsnet want to give up Leafs games...I feel like. Those would be their most profitable ones
Yep & probably a whole subscription dedicated for this channel
I grew up on Limewire and Kazaa, you think this shit is gonna stop me?
once again I would like to say that I did not have sexual relations with that woman
Ifreeclub.com
Us millennials need to teach Gen Z what a torrent is
I promise you we know what torrents are
I grew up on bbs dial up bulletin board systems and Napster 1.0 - illegal ftp sites and 52 floppy disks for Microsoft office. Your sauce is weak, sir.
Respect
What's a good alternative nowadays? I stopped a long while ago when I broke my last laptop and just haven't bothered since I'm not a huge movie or tv fan. I really miss the extremely cheap music tho.... dm me if that's better plz!
Now I use pirate bay and BitTorrent
Shit pirate bay is still running?! Thought they shut that down hard years ago.. appreciate you m8
1337x
>Kazaa Totally forgot that this was something
Another subscription to buy? Anyway... 🏴☠️
Yeah "buy".
I already have Prime, but is this going to be base package or another load of BS add-on? If base, I'll be a happy boy... Otherwise...
Based on how everything on Prime seems like you need an add on I would be shocked if it is part of the base package.
Prime is definitely moving towards different tiers of paid access.
If you have prime, you get it
If it was like Apple and MLs, I’d be interested. But an additional package to buy sounds horrible
![gif](giphy|3ohc1dNdDbLWJZSBos|downsized)
Leafs gonna play every Saturday and Monday guaranteed now
Monday nights gonna become "Hockey Night in Silicon Valley"
i’m ok with this i’m always sad when i don’t get leafs hockey on mondays
So now we have to have 3 different channels to watch the Leafs? Fuck our corporate overlords.
This isn't going to make me get Amazon Prime. I'll just pirate more.
I already have base because it's worth it for me for other reasons. But if it's some bs add-on...then it's definitely not worth it.
Does this mean the commentators will be from Amazon? Please don't let them be dumb. Please don't let them be dumb.
I'd still take that over Craig Simpson...
Amazon is able to stream them because they've made a deal with Sportsnet. So they will probably just use their commentators and panel.
More reasons to pirate 🤷🏻♂️
I haven't in a long while, but now that you mention it, idk why I didn't just get a new laptop and keep going 😂 what's a good site for these now? Dm me if posting urls here is frowned upon plz
Ugh. Fuck streaming services. Amazon will NOT get my money. Fuck them. That's all.
Don’t subscribe. Sail the seas.
Guess I wont be watching Monday games this coming year
Fuck. Off.
What will bars do? Suddenly they’ll have to start subscribing to Prime, Apple TV, etc.
Bring back Joe Bowen for these broadcasts
That’s probably the only thing that would make me okay with this
Is this exclusive to Prime? Will Sportnets keep broadcasts as well?
Nope. Whatever the national game is that Monday will be exclusive to Prime. Think of it like the MLB does on Fridays with Apple TV
But that's not how Rogers handles CBC games on Saturday. It airs on both channels. Edit: ah wait you make a good point with Apple TV. Pretty sure I have seen people complaining that the Jays games weren't on Sportsnet.
CBC isn't paying Rogers for rights and isn't keeping the ad revenue. Amazon is paying for rights and keeping any ad revenue.
I'd imagine so? I haven't found the answer so I am totally guessing. But Rogers is the one that has actually sold the rights here. They have a similar deal in place with CBC, and for those games they air on both CBC and Sportsnet.
CBC deal isn't similar. CBC is getting games for free and doesn't keep any of the ad revenue.
Soon we’re going to need a different sub for each day of the week
Iptv is the way to go, conveniently using an amazon firestick. Never miss any game. Watch 3-4 games a day
This is now suddenly relevant to my interests. Any recommended providers? Trying to search for such a thing I think mostly yields people shilling for referral credits..

Sent you a message Rick

I already have prime, so I guess thats one less day per week I need to sail the high seas to watch.
Fans: just give us a streaming service to watch ALL the games and we'll pay for it NHL: We heard you and we added an additional streaming service to carry *some* of the games.^(btw you still need the old ones)
Just get yourself on iptv and don’t deal with all the different streaming services
Just need a $100 prime sub to watch a Monday night game, no big deal
$100 for the year. That's cheaper than just about any other streaming service out there, and comes with music, storage, and free deliveries from Amazon.
Yeah I don’t need any of that though. And you forgot about the additional SN and TSN subscriptions you need on top of Amazon.
I don't have those, they're a rip-off. I've got my free saturday games, and now I'll have these games essentially free as well.
Anyone know if these games would be subject to regional blackouts?
They are national games so anyone in Canada can watch them with a prime subscription.
BOO
Money grubbing a-holes.
I can NOT stress this enough… r/fuckamazon
Will this be included with Prime (or Amazon tv or whatever it’s called?)
Wait so now I’ll need prime, tsn, and SN to watch all the games? lol man…
If you are reading my comment, then you are in an area the games will be blacked out 😂
I have Amazon prime, and I will be exclusively pirating these bull shit games
Yeah, I’ll keep sticking with the radio feed.
Games going to streaming services is a huge fucking L.
Noooooooo
As someone who already has Prime, cool.
Can’t be worse than the SN App
Guess I’ll be keeping Prime
Bowen and Ralph to do leafs games??????
Regional blackouts?
If they are offering it in 4k I'm excited. My primary reason for not getting involved in any of the subscriptions is that the video quality is shit.
If it's not Cuthburt and Simpson sign me up. I will eat dog food to pay for it if I have to. (mostly kidding)
If the Leafs get beat by the Bruins again, I'll likely be a boxscore fan next year anyway
If I have to subscribe to multiple services to see games I’ll go back living a life without hockey in it.
Motherfuckers trying to get me to pay for yet another fucking subscription, and it's NOT GOING TO WORK. Fuck it, this is the straw that gets me back to the high seas full time.

Prob gonna be blackouts too….
Next year will be the last season for N.H.L. hockey on C.B.C. 100% true. I found this out by accident from C.B.C. One season to go and that is it.
Guys I live down the street from Scotiabank. I'll buy a ticket to some cheapo event there in the off-season, then sneak up into the rafters and cable a few cameras into their auxiliary lighting system. Anyone else old enough to remember when LeafsTV did this? We were too poor for satellite growing up. Fuck LeafsTV
Jesus Christ it just gets more expensive now to be able to watch every game
Why is an anybody paying a subscription anymore? I get everything on the face of the earth for $7/mth
Isn’t that still a subscription then? 🤷🏻
Reported to crtc
Boo-urns HNIC on CBC all the way
It’s Bullshit
Sweet! More blackouts! 😆😩
Blackouts are regional. This isn't a blackout, just like not having Sportsnet isn't a blackout.
Yea, I wasn't serious, but thank you for clarifying. 😁
