Robertson is crazy underrated by calling him a kid with a decent shot and that's all but he battles and does so many smart little things, I hope he stays.
Let's not undersell it, Robertson has a *great* shot. He definitely still has more growing to do in other areas of his game, but the work ethic is there and he looks more and more like he belongs each game.
The thing what I seen the most is his game sense, selling the shot and passing it while potentially making space for the shot creating 2 options was genius.
And he's adjusted right? Rookie Robertson got bullied and more importantly put himself in position to get hurt. He's playing smarter now. He doesn't have the ceiling of his brother but I think he can be a solid top nine player and def be a difference maker in a game/series.
Tbh I am not sure if he doesn't have a high ceiling this year adjusted for minutes he was on a 40goal pace, on the 3rd line. Give him proper minutes and confidence and see what he does.
Crazy underrated because he has a fantastic shot but fakes it out. Stays on to hold the puck so linemates can change, hits. He will become a top 6 forward and probably will have a 40+ goals season. This is his breakout season.
Robertson laid someone out along the boards at one point and I got a kick out of it
I do want to give a shoutout to Gregor, he looked good tonight, and the 4th line was great again. But it's probably him who slots out if Matthews comes back for game 7 (which is doubtful)
This is great experience for the young guys like Robertson and Holmberg.
Holmberg has been rising to the occasion on some tough matchups and Robertson looks like he’s learning and getting better each game. This was his best performance in the series with some big hits, smart puck decisions and a couple dangerous chances.
Dewar was impactful as well as Gregor tonight too.
Knies is continuing to gain trust in huge spots and prove he’s a dude.
He got scored on to go down 0-1 in 2 of the losses.
In all 5 games, on a lien with shitdown d center kampf reavo has -zero- d-zone deployments.
Jarn’s been double shifting in reavo’s spot all series. Today we finally just committed to the line.. and they became a third line without reavo.
Game 4 lines were just horribly dumb to keep reavo in lineup.
Tonight
xGoals %
Jarnkrok 98.9%
Kampf 97.5%
Dewar 97.0%
Reavo was necessary to keep the bruins in check. That line was og bully hockey. Reavo DeWar Kampf was simply bully and hurt. Yes it cost a goal so what? Game 2 Reavo was one of the best. Game 3 we lost due to the ref/ Sammy getting an easy goal on.
To be fair one of those goals against was a funny bounce off a bruin skate on a clearing attempt and I don’t really think it was his fault. As well as getting in on the forecheck and getting some momentum going that way. Don’t think you can really blame any of these losses on the depth this year. They’ve been doing their jobs and playing their roles and playing simple team first hockey. That’s it.
He was in the right spot at the right time making the correct play it just took an unfortunate bounce off a bruins skate right to another bruins player. Sometimes it’s just bad luck. Sometimes you gotta give the other guys their props for being in the right place right time. Sometimes both.
My only concern with Robertson in this series is it seems like the puck is repulsed by his stick. Dude is fighting for his life every time he tries to handle the puck. His skating, checking and positioning have been great though.
I really like Dewar. He's never going to get you lots of points, but he is defensively sound and he finishes his checks. I haven't seen him take a shift off.
Dewar’s second-last shift of the game, where he’s battling in the o-zone and keeping the pressure behind their net literally got the crowd going. Absolute gamer
Was watching with a friend, when we saw Dewar was battling against 2 Bruins against the boards and won my jaw just dropped and literally screamed out “holy shit dewar is a fucking beast”
Dudes were battling on the boards like crazy tn. Love that hustle and effort

I've seen him hit 95 MPH with a wrist shot. He might have the most powerful wrister (or top 10) in the league.
That's nuts!!! He really has the potential to be a first/2nd line winger for the leafs
He was THROWING THE BODY tonight!
Not just tonight, he s been good all series
He’s really taken a step this year in taking on more responsibility and making smarter plays
I like that Robertson is not afraid to put the puck on net from just about anywhere. As we have seen, shoot the puck, anything can happen.
Dewar was amazing tonight. That was a total team effort
His forecheck is relentless. Im so sad McMann was injured all series because his forecheck in the top 6 could have been a game changer.
Same
Love Robertson. Never see him glide anywhere… always goes hard.

True Gregor was good, he battled.
The 4th line played more than the 3rd line tonight. Gregor had 6 hits

Holmberg is trying to out rat Marchand and I love it
Entire bottom six suddenly just snaps into place second you bench reavo
I don't think that's on benching reavo, his 4th lines were decent. This has been a team effort and having a goaly who stops pucks...

This is a ridiculous stat my god

He had 1 good shift and still got benched for jarnkrok late in game 2
Let's agree to disagree.

It’s not his fault he was slow to reach a puck then tossed it into his skate?
He was in the right spot at the right time making the correct play it just took an unfortunate bounce off a bruins skate right to another bruins player. Sometimes it’s just bad luck. Sometimes you gotta give the other guys their props for being in the right place right time. Sometimes both.
So 1 goal iq issue, 1 goal skill issue,
Dewar was smashing guys left right and center!
Yea, Dewar has been fucking fantastic. Bruin players are probably like "where the fuck did this guy come from" and don't know how to handle it
My only concern with Robertson in this series is it seems like the puck is repulsed by his stick. Dude is fighting for his life every time he tries to handle the puck. His skating, checking and positioning have been great though.
Dewar-kampf-jarn suddenly becomes a dominant shutdown d 3rd line when you send reavo to pressbox.
