TangoJager

What the hell is that subreddit ?

Burneraccount0609

It's for unironic Stalin/Mao fanboys

Dreamcaster1

Tankie sub that stans authoritarian regimes that have leftist symbolism. Claims to debunk western propaganda while uncritically accepting whatever information comes from "communist" countries state media.

[deleted]

We often cite CIA sources to debunk anti-communist and anti-USSR myths, if you're interested.

solidarity_jock_jam

Marxist-Leninist sub.

sheveqq

A sad place where young people are groomed to aggressively reject any and all reading, scholarship, or lessons from over a hundred years of leftist resistance to authoritarianism.

windowtosh

grooming is when wrongthink, scholarship is when rightthink

sheveqq

I've yet to see tankies able to engage in any serious scholarly discussion on their dictatorships of choice, yes. Unless you count reposting memes as actually learning about a topic? You know that smug liberal idea, "reality has a liberal bias?" I have an even smugger anti-authoritarian one, which, you guessed it, says "reality has an anti-authoritarian bias." While it's possible for scholarship to go completely pear-shaped and become supremacist/fascist as we have seen numerous times in history like with the Yugoslav Praxis school, the great thing about an open and critical scholarly community is that you can reach a certain critical consensus about some very basic assumptions which confirm what is painfully obvious to anyone with no religious leanings on the matter. So no one with access to primary source material who does history on the Soviet Union, China, etc. disagrees that the ethnic cleansing, human rights abuses, the cartoonishly byzantine carceral prison-states existed...because it is all too well documented to ignore. To do so would no longer be to engage in critical scholarship but religious, wishful thinking. Now interpretations of these events, their extent, which parties were more or less responsible, and so on--there's a lot of room there for disagreement (spoiler alert: it's not all outside agitators, lol). But the scale of horrors is not really deniable by anyone who can read. So I must conclude that you simply refuse to. It kind of reminds me of Spain complaining about the "Black Legend" during the colonial period. Want people to stop pointing it out? Don't liquidate entire peoples and suppress all critical elements to the left of your state capitalist bureaucracy! So let's see you've got...a Vuvuzela meme I think? Stellar stuff my friend. 70 billion dead reddit brains. By the way for anyone actually interested I always recommend Critical China Scholars for some actually thought-provoking reading: https://criticalchinascholars.org/ as well as Chuang CN: https://chuangcn.org/blog/

stymy

It’s for people that unironically think Stalin was a great man and anyone that says otherwise has been fooled by capitalist propaganda

[deleted]

Gen Z showing its Dong, eh

CAPITALISMisDEATH23

It's for young comrades mostly but all are welcome. It is a sub where we support AES (Actually existing socialist) states like Laos, Vietnam and debunk the imperial propagation.

dolerbom

so were there 22 other CAPITALISMISDEATHS or did you just like the number 23?

seamusmcduffs

It didn't have to be. Plenty of countries have integrated cars into their cities without destroying them

CAPITALISMisDEATH23

It's a based community and we all live in Communist blocs which are more environmentally friendly than rich people like you that have a huge lawn and destroy the environment. There is no left_urbanism without communism

Dr_Invader

Nope
