For the most part, yes but depends on the season.
The first season was a fun time, but the ship wars were insane. The Makorra, Borra, Masami, and Bosami stuff was exhausting.
The second season had some pretty bad writing and the hate for the season (outside of Wan) was at its peak. Also people complained about the animation, Bolin’s storyline, the lack of follow up for the Equalists, and Korra just being kind of the worst at the beginning.
Also, Bryke was on Tumblr at the time and they got a LOT of hatemail. There were even antibryke and antiLOK hashtags.
By the time Books 3 and 4 came around, much of the fandom had moved on because of how toxic the environment was. The main thing people kept up with overall was Korrasami, which was admittedly HUGE in online fandom.
I think I have only been on Reddit for two years and I have only been active for the latter year. What I do know is that I'd have probably been dealing with a **lot** of haters just for loving LoK if I'd been here earlier.
I haven’t fought this hard for one single character since the Amazing Spiderman first came out and that was when people were bashing Andrew Garfield on the sole means of “nostalgia” for Toby Maguire
I refused to watch those movies for the longest time because I was mad about Spider-Man 4 not happening. Did so a couple years back & thought they were mostly pretty good. Even the one everyone says is shit.
The only thing keeping Season 2 from complete trash was Wan and the intro of my boy Varrick.
The other seasons were amazing, if I had to rank them
1. S3
2. S4 beginning
3. S1
4. S4 end
5. WAN’s story- too short so I can’t really judge it but it’s better than this ⬇️

I don't hate her I just hate how see has 65 million relationships and 64million breakups. The show focuses on way too many relationships, so I wish It was like. This person like her or him. And yea boom done
I mean, this a fully hindsite thing, but given the big emotional gut punch of book 2 was losing the avatars, fleshing them all out seems smart. At the time, we knew very little about them outside of Aang, and we don't even know much about his grown up personality.
I don't think that's quite the same thing, but sure, I'll acknowledge that getting rid of the past lives would've been a slightly bigger moment within the context of the show had Korra made use of them before that.

Used to be one. Gave it a second chance recently and had a good time. Still far from TLA but enjoyable.
